Discontinued Hopper io

Haven’t posted much. Just want to say I’m still using my io daily and it is performing how it did on day 1.

I do huge rips on 5, I really run this thing without holding back. I push batteries til they die, then try to squeeze another hit (never works, but I try). I’ll use the regular charger plugged into my computer which is incredibly convenient over swapping batteries I’ve come to realize. When it dies, I’ll sometimes charge it just for 10 minutes or so to nuke a bowl on temp 5 so I can be nice and toasty as it charges.

I really go hard on this thing. Obeying the proper usage and not being an asshole to the vape, but I’m pushing it harder than I’d ever really need just to make sure it withstands.

So far so good. We’ll see.

How many bowls per charge do you think? How many pulls for how many sec? Thanks!!

Hard to say. Sometimes I'll do a few bowls and toss it back on the charger. I also mixed up my 3 year old battery with the one that HL shipped with the io. So I'll have to test both back to back and see which one lasts longer.

I know I get minimum of 3 bowls through water though, as I did that the other night before tossing it on the charger.

I typically do a hit somewhere between 2-3 for flavor in the jhook. Long milky draws. Then a rip on 3.5-4 for a huge rip, then a rip on 5 to finish it off.

These rips sometimes go quite long, I'm going for the biggest hit I can nearly every time. I clear a bowl in about 3-4 huge hits. Sometimes just 1 massive rip on 5.

Just ordered a PFE on 5/13 for the IO that's inbound. Once I saw the batteries were here, I decided to get the PFE and emailed support after the purchase to ask if they can combine the two orders. The Support Team just emailed me back letting me know they could combine the orders and that it should ship out this week. Our order was late December, so all of those who jumped in at the pre-order launch should be well ahead of us in the que.

I am kind of put off by Hopper Labs.
I have a brand new Grasshopper to test out, but it came with no front end.
I contacted Hopper, and asked if they could email me a paypal bill as I could not get their website to comply.
They sent me a reply, with a bill for it in March.
I have written to them a half dozen times.
Once they even said it was being shipped (about a month ago!)
It is going on 3 months... and still no front end!
@Hopper Labs ........ Please help a Vaporist out so I can get this unit tested, and into the hands of a patient in need.

I have been on @Hopper Labs side. I am questioning my judgement seeing I can’t even get an answer to a question on the warranty portal.

Send me pm I have a spare would be happy to send to help out.
HL is unreliable, even for simple things and you certainly deserve better treatment.
Whoever you're sending the grasshopper to will need a backup, so I'll send a Pax2 along, too.

Nice, @vapviking !! But I have a few to spare, and I have his address already. Saves you the PMs. I'll send a PFE and silicone shields along also. Wish I could help with batteries, but maybe Max?

Thanks @vapviking.
As you just read, my old buddy @ChooChooCharlie has seen fit to share the front end, and then some.
Thank you @ChooChooCharlie and @vapviking for being such standup dudes, and friends!

@Vitolo I have often thought of sending you this Pax2, just never had proper motivation and now I do; as I mentioned, and imo, whomever you send the Ghopper to (if you choose to) will need a backup before long! though Ghoppers are actually quite a nice vape - when working.

It may take a week or so for me to un-earth all the accessories and get it all cleaned up, but she's a runner... and somebody out there can make good use of her. You da man to find that person, you're a one-man band of angels.

Sorry for some OT here folks, and I know this is about a Grasshopper, not an "io". @Vitolo was relating a c/service issue that applies to both...so it kinda fits? We know it's not about the "vape experience", but at this point much of Grasshopper owner experience is about the times it's not working.

Props to @ChooChooCharlie , one stand-up guy!

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I'm real interested in the IO. Are all yalls first impressions strong? And do they have a steady supply of batteries now, or on the way? The hopper has been in the back of my mind for years, and I'm hoping it may finally be time to start actively looking.

While I haven't received mine yet, nearly all the reviews by users here have been pretty positive. I'd keep "actively looking" for just a bit longer if I were you, however. A partial shipment of batteries has arrived but why not wait until Hopper Labs has really started shipping these new ones out. I fully trust that these units are going to take the Hopper to a new level of efficiency but you know how things go in Hopperland. Once you see happy customers making positive responses, go for it!

HL received a small shipment of new batteries that they’re cautiously distributing: new IO owners get one each (for now). Larger shipments (from China) should be not too far behind. But we’ve heard this before several times. So, new batteries are currently scarce, even for those of us with legacy Hoppers, and many of us are waiting for new ones bought last year. I received mine (before the HL fire) which HL recommended we not use and dispose of properly. Contrary to their advice, I’ve been vigilantly using a couple in rotation (they’re fine, no issues).

I do think the IO will take off but there are these battery hurdles still to face. HL repaired my pre order Ti which has been working well 9+ months now, and I think it bodes well for the IO internals. I’m now thinking about getting one but I won’t jump in too soon like I did years ago with my pre order Ti. :peace:

EDIT: I am due for replacement batts from HL, like many of you.

Thanks for the answers guys, sounds like waiting a little more is the best bet. I'm very excited to see how it turns out. Glad they are working past the fire and all. I was really bummed hearing about that as these have been on the radar for a a while.

I wrote an email again.. and this time they wrote back, and apologized for the delay. They said they would send a couple extra's for my wait time. I feel better.
Great news for you! What email if I might ask? I know this is the I/O thread but I am now getting zero response it’s about my OG titanium
