Fuck Combustion...for cigarette smokers

i ran warm ISO through my e-cig 3 times and wow, what a difference!

i think i'll get some flavors and attomizers, PT cable or that self contained box

i've quit with little to no noticable withdrawal, just two or three days jitters and sleepless, but this is looking to be relatively harmless instead of going back to cigarettes Again.

AOC, I would go ahead and get something reliable and easy like my REO. It adds so much enjoyment by just doing what it is supposed to do and doing it well. We have all bought vapes that we were less than satisfied with only to go back later and spend the same plus $30 or $50 more to buy the one we wanted in the first place but didn't want to cough up the dough for. Same with E-cigs. There are reasonably inexpensive solutions like the Ego that I got for $50, but since I bought my REO it has been in the box waiting to be used as a backup. So far it hasn't come out. Do some research in the ECF forum and as smokum said don't discuss weed there. There are lots of different categories there. "General E-Smoking Discussion" & "E Cigarette Suppliers Forum" are a good place to start for general knowledge and some really cool devices. For me the holy grail of this stuff is the bottom fed mods. Check out REO, Monkeyboxx, Kaji Ali'i. Their forum has a great search engine.
Thanks! Reading through those forums isn't nearly as enjoyable as these, but a lot of useful info.I'm leaning towards a Joye Ego for her...

AOC the Ego is an excellent intro to Ecigs and lots of people have them as their main unit. If you go much smaller than that (the ones that look like real cigs) the batteries die quickly and most are cheaply made. I also like the manual button on the ego rather than the automatic versions of the ecigs out there. I avoided the automatics because, although they look cool with the glowing led at the end, I have heard that most can go off at loud noises or vibration even in your pocket. The manual Ego with a little $1 button cover that many sell as an accessory is excellent for all day and to stick in your pocket (or purse ). I got my Ego from Puresmoker.com. At the time I think I paid just under $50 for a two battery kit that had everything I needed to get started (including the charger) except the juice. Now as for juice....read reviews and ask questions. Like I said before, some are terrible and some are truly sublime :2c:

JD, that Ali'i is one sweet vape from what I've heard. I almost put in an order on the Journeyman (the one pictured on the left in JD's pic for those learning about these things) but then the REO mini and grande came out and I was kinda liking them a little better for banging around. I wound up with one of each and love them. I would have to say the Ali'i is probably next on my list for the house. Such a beauty! RnR is also so nice to deal with. Great guy.

Just noticed you are getting the VV version

Reo is also a possibility too

That just happened...
I quit for good 5 years ago using the gum. Whatever method you use quitting cigarettes is a excellent decision. :)

Hey Smokum, good to see you here :)

I'm using a ProtoPype at the moment, love the feeling of a lump of wood in my hand, it's kind of comforting. I started a review thread recently on ECF for anybody interested.

I was using an Omega but had to stop, the nickel plating made my hand come out in a rash, turns out I am allergic. I also use the Boge Revolution in the car and when out and about in town. Cool little bit of tech.

Hey GhostVapor! Another ECFer and REOnaught! Congrats on quitting. I just quit a couple months ago myself. I went out last night and most in the group were smokers. They all wanted to try my REO and three of the wanted ordering info, LOL. The bottom feed mods (REO, Ali'i, etc) are so important to the whole vaping movement imho. People see the cool gadget, then find out how easy they are to use. No mess, cheaper, no smell... and they work each and every time. Anyway, nice to find all you ECFers over here. Any smokers with questions please ask. If you think vaping could be a healthier alternative for you, go for it. Many people try it once and are able to quit combustion for good. We are all here at FC because we care about our health but love our choices. So glad we have these excellent resources (FC, ECF) to help in our journeys. Last year I was putting a lot of smoke in my body every day, now ZERO!!! And I'm not missing a thing. Fuck butane, fuck carcinogens, fuck tar, FUCK COMBUSTION :D

BTW Enjoying my MFLB and REO Grande right now :ko:

Haven't had a cig in 3 weeks. I decided that I would only smoke if I was ever offered one and if only i've had any alcohol to drink. It has made my craving to smoke much less intense... good luck with anyone looking to quit or cut down in 2011.

Three months off cigarettes thanks to ecigs via a few amazing FC contributors who opted to help me off channel.
I didn't think it was possible for me to quit, having been a two pack a day smoker for 40 years.
(Doctor's orders - he said i wasn't getting enough tar...)

I take more of the Lego's approach than the mod approach - interchangeable parts that fit around the 650mah batteries/ 510 attys/ cartomizers/ drip tips, such as the Hello 016 battery
which lasts a long time but doesn't produce the intense flavor as other batteries, in my opinion.
Today I'm using a 510 LR cartomizer as my attys tend to crap out after one week which really sucks.

I prefer the throat hit of an atty but cartomizers are actually very good.

madvapes is my go to site for juice.

Yes, we have replaced one addiction for another and we don't know if heated ejuice is going to eventually necessitate our getting our mouths surgically ripped off of our faces one day.
I somehow think what we're doing is benign for the most part but we can't be sure.

I quit 5 months ago with Swedish Snus. I love the huge variety of blends/flavors (and not feeling like a leper every time I want to enjoy some tobacco). Here are some links to articles about it that I found interesting: http://bit.ly/hukmdt (snuson.com forums).

I got frustrated with ecigs last spring (I had an original Juice Box) I switched to Thunder Frost snus over the summer. I liked them at first but got sick of them and now im back on ecigs :)

Ha, Thunder Frosted are my favorites (minis and longs for work, portion and los for home), first one felt like I had injected an altoid into my face. I've found that getting a few variety/sampler packs is the way to go so you don't get burnt out on one kind. Very different from cigs, where I always smoked the same brand.

Two other random tidbits- American Snus are not swedish snus- if they were soft drinks, the American Snus would be diet sprite and the Swedish Snus would be Red Bull, IME. Also, there is no need to spit, so they can be used just about anywhere (especially the mini and long portions, they are nearly invisible under your top lip).

Quit four years ago after many, many, many attempts. With all the bs in my life lately i am terribly tempted to pick up smoking again. Plus, i just really miss the downtime! i still head outside with the smokers at parties too.
Found ECF a while ago, I just ordered the riva 510 and a bunch of yummy sounding non nicotine e-cig juices from Mrs. T's bakery. Blueberry muffin in a cig? snickerdoodle cookie too? sure i'll try that!!!

When i visited Paris in the mid 90's one of the kids on the tour with me bought these cigarettes that were peach flavored and they were awesome. Not like a peachy tobacco, it really tasted like a peach! I've never seen anything like it since, but some of the peach ejuices i've seen described sound like just what i've been looking for.

hoping that will help keep me smoke free.

peach e juice is my personal favorite! i own an omega and i love this little bastard (well not so little in the e cigg world haha) but i enjoy the thick vapor and voltage options with the mechanical switch the omega was no brainer for me i love this thing and wont go back to analog cigs ever! fuck combustion of all sorts... been 3 months no smoke of any kind and i couldnt be happier

for someone coming off analogs would you recommend a dual-atomizer? I hear they produce a lot more vapor...does that equate to more realistic fake cigarette experience?

i'm thinking of building a box mod - some look pretty cool, been starting to obsess about finding something unique

More voltage, dual atty, juice hogs and high strength liquid - - - there has been a big trend over the last two years for more of everything. I got off cigarettes with 11mg juice and a little DSE901 without any trouble. I have tried a hell of a lot of configurations and I can honestly say that not one has given a realistic cigarette experience, there will be a transition to make whatever you get.

The physical sensation most refer to as a throat hit is from the temperature of the vapour, the pH value, the nicotine content, the base used in the liquid (VG has a lower hit) and the other chamicals in it such as flavours. I have only used one liquid that gave the feeling of having had enough and that was a custom sample a manufacturer was considering making. One of the things about e-cigs is that you can chain vape non-stop all day with never feeling like you had enough. Nothing has truly felt like a cigarette, but I argue that many have been far more pleasurable.

I personally feel that the best method is a 3.7v big battery device with an LR atty or LR cartomizer. This gives a good sensation with a good runtime. They can produce enough vapour that you can't see in front of your face. It is not wimpy by any means and the clouds are much bigger than a cigarette will give you. Wanting more throat hit and bigger thicker clouds can become an all new addiction in itself!

If you like box mods, check out the Darwin http://www.evolvapor.com/

ROFL! I'm on the list for a Darwin too and looking forward to "evolving" :D Though I'm adoring my ProVari!

I too second the suggestion of LR atomizers or cartos. They were game changing to me when they came out. I was using higher voltages, etc. but... a 3.7 mod with an LR atomizer is better to me than standard attys at higher volts. I'm hooked on the Cisco LR306 (avidvaper.com). This atomizer produces the best hit, vapor, flavor to me personally but everyone has to find their sweet spot.

Not too many people using their double barrel silver bullets and the likes anymore since LR attys came out. Stuff is ever evolving. You don't have to spend a fortune to get or make a good 3.7 mod. Madvapes.com has cheap DIY kits/parts or you can pick up a eGO/Riva/Hello016 battery pretty darn cheap.

Happy Vaping!

I just joined ECF yesterday!

Got the Riva the other night and boy am i glad i ordered two! I really like it, but hubby actually took it with him on a job so he could vape in his work truck.

"What a dumb idea, a fake cigarette, i won't do that shit" sounds just like what he said about the launch box that he now nurses regularly

My juice order still hasn't arrived :( so i had to improvise
I've made my own juices out of some of my essential oils and flavorings i have around plus the glycerin and everclear i always have around for tinctures. I'm really on a blood orange kick right now and it makes an amazing flavored juice.
DH mixed up some tangerine, lemon, lime and blood orange and its was a beautiful thing :)

VAPE ON and FUCK COMBUSTION INDEED!!!!

Lo, I too am so over combustion that I don't even burn candles anymore either. all my incenses, resins and oils are now run through the ION to fragrance the room. no more combustion and no more petroleum based glade plug ins sprays etc.

Woohoo Herbrgirl!! Glad to see you guys are both taking to the Riva's lol. I assume your husband's a smoker? If so you might get some tasty nic juices to see if he weans down or even quits.

I would caution you about ordering backups or EVERYTHING if husband using to quit smokes. Especially atomizers or cartomizers whichever you are using. Oils will sometimes clog up the atomizers and generally flavors with oils in them are avoided or in some cases used very sparingly. Most flavorings are carried in PG which is main component of most ejuices anyhow. And go easy on alcohol in the vapor...sometimes people get headaches from vaping alcohol.

There are a ton of ecig forums but ECF is the biggest and most well known...sometimes a little overwhelming. If you get in a pinch and need any help please do holler. I'm there too...heck I'm everywhere ROFL!!
