Drug company mix-ups......

Holy shit. I just saw a segment on 60 Minutes about this. A major drug company got busted, not only for drugs contaminated with bacteria, but actual mix-ups on the assembly line where the wrong drugs were put into the wrong bottles, and even though this was brought to their attention, they shipped them out anyway.

WTF ?!?

Not surprised but still disgusted. I'm just fortunate that I don't need to use any prescription drugs, I try to avoid that garbage.

i caught the tail of that segment, and thought i noticed they were being quite nice to the drug company...there's more to get pissed off about tho:

as these companies have geared up on drug trials they've created an international industry which preys upon poor people who don't understand it's experimental medicine, they just think these are doctors with medicine. Babies are dying. Ishts effed up, if you watch these stories report back what you think...(I know this news show has a hippie agenda, but i think they dig up some good stuff)

Study: Pharmaceutical Drug Companies Top Military Industry in Defrauding U.S. Gov't

200,000 people die in the USA every year from prescription drugs, more than some diseases.
The drug industry is the biggest defrauder of the US government now (used to be the military industry)...this refers to false or over-charged claims (invoices) submitted to the government by the drug companies. And now the government is talking about getting them to stop it by threatening to put someone in jail...because these companies ACCEPT the millions of dollars in penalties AS AN OPERATING EXPENSE! *&^(*)%^ @-holes!
It's the most profitable industry in the United States now.

I was raised as a Republican, but i think we need more regulation on these people, not less.

Not surprising at all. I would recommend the documentary: The Corporation... it's free on youtube, and it's about how corporations are legally considered "persons," and based on actions like this, can be considered "sociopaths." Multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies only care about the bottom line.

Can you name one multi-billion dollar corporation that doesn't? There's only one way to become a multi-billion dollar corporation, and that is to make your bottom line you're number one priority.

Yeah, it's fuckin messed up. There does need to be some social responsibility in the corporate world, but all the fines and regulations in the world doesn't seem to do a thing.

Ya know, after watching that 60 Minutes segment, I was like, what the hell? Fuck the fine. The FDA should have pulled their license and shut them the fuck down or at least shut them down for a period of time so that it REALLY hurts.

Ya know, I hear the conservative Republican stance on government, i.e......less government. Let the people and states govern themselves. Fuck, didn't that start this current mess with fucking banks, investment houses and mortgage brokers just going full tilt amok with nobody holding the reigns? And yeah, the government is just as corrupt as big business, but at least it's controlled corruption...........or maybe it's corruption without any implementation, or maybe, they're one in the same.

Fuck....................(reaching for vape...........)

I'm proud to say i never took an aspirin or similar thing in my life(not as far as I know at least, luckily my parents were never that quick with such things either, we also rarely went to the doctor, instead of all those people that already go to the doctor for a simple flue or cold)
so I'm not sponsoring that bullshit(altough I have had an operation on my eyes when I was 4 or so, so I don't know what ended up in my body during that)

see whether or not you think this gets the *coverage it deserves in the popular media... it was announced someplace else more sensationalisticly...the other website suggested it would get buried because it's so cheap, but that it's an order of magnitude towards curing cancer by prophalaxis i guess...

A baby aspirin a day for more than five years...they say it's the duration...lowers risk of Cancer 20%

:o

* I believe a good validation is whether its common knowledge in a short period of time, or will they make us "forget" hahaha

Baby Aspirin Linked to Reduced Cancer Deaths
from the Los Angeles Times (Registration Required)

A daily dose of baby aspirin may reduce mortality from a range of common cancers by an average of 21%, with the reduction persisting for at least 20 years, British researchers reported Monday.

Deadly cases of stomach, colorectal and esophageal cancers all declined among people who took low-dose aspirin for 10 to 20 years, according to a study published online in the journal Lancet. The chewable tablets also were linked to a reduced risk of death from adenocarcinoma and from lung cancer in nonsmokers.

The results were based on an analysis of more than 10,000 people who participated in seven clinical trials designed to test whether baby aspirin could reduce the risk of heart disease

i'm watching Sicko - don't know why i didn't watch it before...it's rfugin good movie, especially when they get to France.

My grandfather was up in Canada last year, he's 94, and he had to call an ambulance for his girlfriend...they rang up a bill of US$2400, he said would have been US$18,000 here (they're covered whereever they go, they're in the top whatever% who can afford to be...anyway, he said he was talking to the guy in back of the ambulance and his aunt had been on a waiting list for months for an operation and when things started looking bad they flew her and a couple of family members to Seatle, paid for the extra bed or whatever for the family member, covered it.

i think it comes down to this...the countries where people can vote all decided to set it where we've already put firemen, libraries and schools. We've been brainwashed into thinking of things a different way...i'm just noticing.

Yeah look I rarely use pharmaceuticals, and only for last resort stuff. I'd take an aspirin if I had a bad headache which I couldn't relieve with alternative remedies, but it's been years since I did that (since it's very unusual for me to get a headache).

And I hardly ever get colds or flus, and when I do, it's almost always only a minor one. And I don't think I've ever taken cold or flu medication. That crap just masks the symptoms anyway, and doesn't actually heal you - which is true of perhaps most medications.

There's just too many dodgy side-effects from long-term use of so many of these pharmaceuticals - wearing out one internal organ or another. They have their place, but only when really needed.

yeah, that's true but not all multi-billion dollar corporations rely on people staying sick to make their money. these goddamn pharma companies want people to stay sick, that's how they make their money. them and those fuckin' food & cigarette company cancer causing bastards. and bloody politicians couldn't give a hoot about 'public interest' unless money was involved.
