FC display

Got a new PC and bigger monitor for Christmas.
Now my FC window has the pertinent data in the middle third of the page with the outer 2/3 being the gray design. What can I do to fill at least most of the page with the main portion. Maybe I am not clear or a reference if it has been asked.
Google stuff(mail, news) fills the page as do most other sites.
FC is filling the page but info is only in the center.

Thanks for any help.
well maybe inner 40% is posts, etc with 30% on each side the gray paisley or whatever it is.

Mine does that as well Rick. Im not sure why, but have never had an issue with it.

Mine isnt as outrageous as the numbers that you used. Id say that on my 13 inch laptop screen that there is 1.5 inch on each side of the forum that has the design, and the middle 10 inches is the forum itself.

Cant really help you. I went to profile to see if there was a fix and didnt see one. If you press ctrl and the + sign at the same time itll zoom in for you and fill in the screen mostly. (at least in firefox) The font will be bigger however. Just lettin you know it wasnt just you who has this setup!

Happy holidays

Find out how to zoom in/out on your computer.

Hold crtl + spinning the scrolly wheel on your mouse at the same time with this site open will zoom or unzoom the page.
give it a try I'm not sure if this helps but i tryed :peace:

I can see everything just fine(without the zoom) but the content part of FC has giant wide margins of the gray background. I have fiddled with my Firefox preferences to make the fonts bigger already. No more squinting to see things. Just alot of wasted space on the FC pages. Could be just something we need to get used to?
Thanks for the help. I'll bet someone has the magic easy solution.

A lot of webpages are just like that because this way it shows up correct on a widescreen or square screen. Google and yahoo and and bigger corporations have website technology that can check your resolution and fit the page accordingly. FC like most forums will just fill the middle and thats that, but you can hold CTRL and then press + or - to make it bigger, not just the writing.

LOL Ive never given that much thought round here.
But you are right! I guess I could see where that could be goofish on the eyes.

Never really bugged me though ;)

Go to your profile, then select Display and choose a different theme. I use Oxygen and it fills the screen nicely. I don't know what the others look like, but I do know the default FC theme was hard on my eyes. Oxygen is blue and white, much easier to read for me. I wasn't aware of the fluidity issue (ability to use the full width of the browser window) until you brought it up, but the default theme for some reason isn't completely fluid.
