Did you use the RG3 code? Or are you saying it's 35 with shipping?

Oh I forgot shipping was another $5, I didn't see an RG3 code though it says there is a 5% off $30 code VS30, but I didn't get far enough to enter it since it wanted me to login to check out...

Use the code rg3 and it takes 14 off, brings it to 26 and change before shipping

Just don’t go out for dinner one night and you got it covered. With this quarantine thing happening, it won’t be hard.

That is right. But as a retailer I used to examine every item that came to me, whether custom or standard before I shipped it out. I cannot tell you how many items I had to send back to Ryan and hope for credit. Cole if you are reading this, check every item over before you sent it out. It will save you a lot of time and money but more importantly you will have more satisfied customers. Considering how many "new" RBT customers there are now, that might be important.

So blessed to have Vgoodiez continued positive and helpful support of RBT not only here but all over the www. To honor Scott's hard work please use code vgoodiezlove for a 40% discount on a pair of Splinter V2 on 3/20/2020! (limit 4)

I received 2 defective Splinters. Cole responded immediately. I was sent 2 replacements and a gift for my inconvenience. This added courtesy was not necessary. It was above what I had expected. I've purchased from them since then and will continue to purchase from them in the future. I do agree with Vgoodiez that they should inspect the units prior to shipping. But the end of the day, they have been exceptional to do business with them. Great company and great products.

Ah thanks so Much @Bazinga !!! Your screen name would make a great name for a vape lol. Cole has been doing a bang up job but has been extremely busy with finals for some accelerated courses as a Senior headed for Dean's List again... I was on a certain Dean's list but not the good one :) Cole has his work cut out for him in the coming weeks working to get Mi3 pre-order completed, attend to warranty concerns as well as keeping up with current shipping demands. So, if you can help it, only bother him for address changes and other critical correspondence as every email answered means one less Mi3 shipped. Rest assured given some time we will make sure every one is attended to... but we do ask for your patience as the work is heavy and the hands are light.

So, some more detail on the quality issue. Early batches had a condition in that the wood was fit tight to the glass and would shrink and add stress to the glass after it saw the heat from a few uses (first batch of V1 units). If the defect exists it will manifest itself in the first few uses of the unit and are covered under our 30 day glass replacement. To contain the problem RBT decided move to a ship direct to the US / Canada biz model as retailers where put off by the high failure rate of initial units and most had no issue with pulling the plug on the RBT line late last year.

Since then the failure rate has been cut in half and as stated by @Bazinga Cole is addressing any field failures with replacement units normally in a timely manner. Several weeks back Cole and I did discuss inspecting every unit after a blip on the broken unit radar. Even with inspection units can still be dropped and broken in transit even with the best packing job. Nothing in life is perfect.

@khelek41girl is the official repair center for RBT products. She currently does not have glass for Splinter Z V units but has glass for all else. This partnership was put in place to better serve customers who are out of the warranty period. She is also building the occasional artisan RBT product so check out kgwoodcrafts.com.

The new glass to fix the problem is currently being tested in Mi3 and so far no reports of broken glass (fingers crossed). So with a current low rate of failure, inspection, and a repair center the issue is now a manageable situation... and with the current sale the chance to own a great little convection vape for $42 should go a long way to rehab the brand. Thanks to all of the retailers like @VGOODIEZ for helping us to manage the situation to minimize the negative impact to the customer as well as giving RBT a chance to survive.

Top of the list a big thanks to all of RBT nation for buying 1,2,5,10+ RBT vapes to help keep the train rolling. RBT is really excited by the upcoming ZapCap, Seed and Desktop and look forward to Splinter 2 and Custom units with exotic and burls provided by Futo!

Stay positive and Corona free all!

Cole ships on Monday's so should see tracking then.... but we are a little backed up at the moment with Mi3 shipping so it could be the following Monday. Thanks for your patience.

Is there a method to contact Cole? I tried the site's email and text but haven't heard back. I have the splinter 2, and the epoxy wore off, so the glass part is out. He sounds like a nice guy, so i'm hoping it's just that he's busy

It’s pretty much a 1 man operation right now and they’re still dealing with the Mi3, which I’m sure is his priority right now. I haven’t heard back either, but it seems like he’s up to his neck right now.

I’m trying to find a WPA - Water Piece Adpater specifically designed for my ordered Splinter Z (US model)
Glass only, from Splinter to 18mm male, short. Ideally, a US website supplier.

I’ve googled a bit, but see notes like:

“Please note that this is a non genuine RBT product. Because of this the inside diameter is slightly larger then that of a genuine mouthpiece. This means that when you install your screen you will have to flare out the sided of the screen so it stays in the adapter.”

From the little I know, and not having a Splinter Z yet, the depth of the glass that gets inserted on the Splinter, is a factor, as well as baskets/screens fitting properly. That’s why I’d like to get a WPA that’s either specifically designed for a Splinter, or a brand that has been tested by previous and current owners.

Thanks.

@VGOODIEZ has one here which sounds like it's what you want https://vgoodiez.com/products/19mm-...epth-by-vgoodiez?_pos=15&_sid=bf7530aa2&_ss=r

Unless I'm misunderstanding what I'm reading there it should fit all Splinters.

I have gotten mixed reports which is why it's not listed. Personally I have never had issue using these with any of the Custom splinter gear and even some of the standard Splinter Z gear but others have.

If anyone wants to buy it and try it, I'll take it back if it doesn't work.

Easywider

Simple is the way
@RustyOldNail If it's a US model you should be good to go

Edit: thought this was the Z thread. It should still work but you may not be able to use a rimmed basket screen as it will add another mm of length.

I don’t believe there is a separate “Z” thread?
And yes, I mentioned I ordered a “US” model.

Thanks for the suggestions, I guess I assumed there would be a lot of Splinter owners, using Splinters with a water piece, and these WPA’s would be a more common item.

@RustyOldNail
Do you have a dremel? If so you could also buy a standard (longer) adapter and then grind down the length of it. VGoodiez would be a much easier route most likely and they're a fantastic supplier from everything I've ever read.

You need an 18mm glass joint on BOTH ends, one end goes into the 18mm female Splinter bowl, the other end is an 18mm male to fit 18mm female on water pipe. Not sure what cutting anything would accomplish.

You are fine with either adapter probably, US custom Z has 22mm depth for the 18mm joint length (so should a ZV, regular Splinter, like what this thread is for, need the 19mm length for their depth). They're common but tricky:

A lot of 18mm joints are 26mm length is the main issue, so this is where cutting down those 18mm joints from 26mm to 22mm helps for you to get anyting to fit in your Z safely.

However all glass can vary even slightly!
