Cannabis Peanut Butter

Thought I would post a guide to how I make special peanut butter.

What you will need:

1. Oven
2. Bud (Fresh or ABV is fine)
3. ORGANIC/NATURAL peanut butter
4. Muffin/Cupcake tray
5. Tinfoil
6. Grinder (Electric coffee grinders are best.)
7. Mixing spoon.
8. Small bowl for mixing.
9. Cupcake/Muffin liners

Go ahead and preheat your oven to 325F.

Prepare the amount of herbs you wish to use. I like to use 1g of high grade per 1/4 cup of pb. If you are using ABV I would use at least 3 times that amount depending on how heavily you vape your herbs. Feel free to find your own ratios depending on how medicated you wish to be.

Next, I like to quick hit the herbs in my SSV to activate them before cooking. Break your buds into smaller nugs. Load into your wand and set your vape to just below where you normally vape at and take a fast 1-2 sec rip. All you want to do is have the hot air pass through the herbs, you should have no vapor form.

Grind your preheated herbs into a fine powder in a coffee grinder. Get it as fine as possible so you final product won't be gritty.

Mix your bud with your peanut butter in a small bowl. Use the ratio as stated above or try different ratios to see what is best for you. Be sure to really mix it up well.

Place cupcake liners in however many compartments you are going to use. Fill your muffin/cupcake tray with your bud/pb concoction. Do not fill the compartments more then half way full because it will bubble while cooking and some will ooze out into other compartments if you do. A 1/4 cup of pb per compartment seems to work nicely.

Cover the tray with tinfoil. Be sure to make it as airtight as possible.

Bake at 325F for at least 20 mins. I've done up to 30 mins with good results as well.

Remove from oven and let cool for 5 mins before removing tinfoil.

What I like to do next is mix it up with a spoon again and then i put the whole tray into the freezer until it hardens into little peanut butter discs. Once frozen, place discs into a freezer bag and put back into the freezer until ready to use. This is required since organic pb is very oozy and in the fridge it may leak. When you're ready to use just simply thaw for a half hour or so.

So thats it. Very simple, easy to measure doses that really work.

Try making some pb milkshakes, have it on a toasted bagel, or whatever your heart desires.

Important Notes:

It is essential that you only use organic/natural peanut butter. BUT do not use natural skippy or any other brand that requires "no stirring." If your pb doesn't slide around when you tilt the container it's not the right kind of pb.

You don't have to use cupcake liners if you don't have them. This just makes dosing easier since you know each pb disc is 1/4 cup of pb to 1g of herb. You can simply just combine all the pb together and put into a rubbermaid/tupperware and refridgerate.

Oh sweet! Thanks for sharing! I make a simple peanut butter fudge recipe for holidays and have thought about incorporating some herb in it one of these days. You have inspired me :D

Glad you all enjoyed this simple recipe. It's great because pb is great with anything.

I am going to be experimenting in the next few days with some special pb cups. If i work it out right I'll post that as well.

Wow, interesting recipe and kind of the (half assed) inspiration for my firecracker experiment last night.
I *started* all technically with measurements/weights and stuff, but ended up mixing a huge glob of nutella with my ground ABV. (Before spreading it on the crackers and baking)

Will see how it pans out, but I love the looks of this recipe! If I had the mini cupcake pans/cups I would have done this one instead!

That's pretty crazy. I love living here and I love the nightlife Siesta Village brings.

Going to experiment with my pb cups tomorrow. Thinking I'll double boil some chocolate chips and use my premade pb discs. Use a muffin tray again and make a half inch layer of chocolate in some cupcake liners. let harden in fridge. add a pb disc to it thats still frozen and pour chocolate to cover and put in freezer to super freeze.

If all work out I should have some dank pb cups.

Who doesn't like special pb cups? :lol:

Quickhitting the herb seems like an unneccessary step. Since you're baking them anyways, they dont need to be activated, the time that you cook for is definitely enough to activate and absorb the THC, and that 1-2 seconds probably is not doing anything. But thats just like my opinion man.

So, I tired to make some of these with ABV, and although I failed in epic proportions I am way too high right now, and that's all the matters :)

When I took them outta the oven (I made four), they were still very gooey, so I left them in for 5 minutes longer and there was still no change so I just put them in the freezer for a while. But damn it was hard to eat that peanut butter, so dry and organic, ahhhh! :lol:

Then it started to melt again after I took them out of the freezer -.-", so I just decided to make a PB sandwich ;D, which was less difficult to eat but still a challenge.

I'm convinced I did something wrong but not too sure exactly what that was. Oh well! I tried, and I almost succeeded!

Don't think you did anything wrong...I don't think its supposed to harden at all until stirred, and then frozen...

I wanted a really easy, simple solution for using my ABV. After reading some posts, this is what I did:
1 jar of organic peanut butter (50% fat).
About 1 gram (I think!) of ABV.
2 slices of bread (or any type of bread you have).

I placed a thin layer of PB on the bread.
Then I put the ABV into a tea strainer. The ABV was then gently ground with my finger whilst the tea strainer was placed above the bread. A fine powder was produced rather like ground black pepper.
A final thick layer of PB was then spread onto the bread.

Eat the goodness you have produced.

After 15 mins, I was feeling the effects. Heady, comforting high.
Not long after, I fell asleep!! Woke up in the middle of the night and went to bed.

So the recipe works!!! No heating, measuring, cooking, flambeing, or anything!!!
Wlll put less ABV in next time though.

nice post time vapemania. :D

anyhow, i did peanut butter + abv last night for the first time (first edible as well) after reading some posts on here. i think i overheated it (micro, yeah i was vaped already) and could only handle 3/4 of what i made due to taste. the onset began around 5-6 minutes of ingesting, i thought it would take longer and did not finish setting up my "setting" so was frantic to get things done while feeling some spinning due to moving...at about 30 mins in eventually spaced out (consciously speaking) for about an hour and a half...then moved to bed and totally passed out, slept for about 10 hours and have not done that in years.

i'll take care next time and do a slow bake in oven, worth experimenting for sure. kitchen smelled horrible, peanut butter damn near combusted...least it seemed that way. pretty sure i wasted some herb there, but no doubt there was some potency left as i surely felt it.

Hi everyone, just to let you know about my last post. I did drink some wine when I had the cold peanut butter sandwiches.

I have had some more cold peanut butter sandwiches today with about 1 gram of ABV. Unfortunately there was no greatly noticeable hit.

It appears I need to heat the ABV with peanut butter upto about 325F in sealed tin foil for 20 - 30 mins, let it cool for about 5 mins, to have proper ABV edibles which wlll give me a hit.

I can then freeze the babies like Gettin Lifted has said for very special nibbles later on.

Vapemania, there would be no need to reheat if you're using abv because it has been heated already and in most cases to a higher temperature than needed.

I think in your case the alcohol just enhanced the little left over ingredients in the cannabis and that's why the first was so good.

I think being that you're using the MFLB you probably extract a good amount of cannabinoids and that's why your abv is not giving strong results.

You don't have to heat herb to feel the affects, just do the same thing you did with the PB sandwiches and eat some herb that has not been vaped or not vaped too much and see for yourself. Eating some vitamin b6 or eating some leafy green vegetables(spinach, cabbage collard greens) with the sandwich will help with extraction but you have to eat a good amount so b6 might be you best bet if you just want a quick small meal.

Heating is good to make sure you extract the goodies out of cannabis if you don't like to eat it plain with food but if you don't do it quick and at a low temperature along with some antioxidants it can degrade some thc into cbn and help give the relaxing high a lot of people feel. Eating herb with some high antioxidant oil like clarified butter from grass fed cows, extra virgin olive oil & coconut oil(combine them equally for best effects) and some freshly squeezed lemon juice blended with peanut butter(no partially hydrogenated because it's hard to absorb which means less thc) or a small ripe avocado will give potent affects. You can use the avocado mixture as a sandwich spread on a hamburger for the daytime because the added protein from the meat or any other high protein food will give some energy or use both as a chip dip at night when you want to relax.

I think what happens is the fatty acids in the oils and the lemon juice combine into a more potent, somewhat different product and the antioxidants prevent them from being degraded. Plus the fats are different and effects your body in different ways. The clarified butter has a good amount of short chain fatty acids that can be used quickly and bring on the high faster than normal, the coconut oil has medium chained fatty acids that can be used for energy to keep the high going and prevent lethargy or anxiety, and the peanut butter,avocado and olive oil have a lot or unsaturated fats that will go to the lymphatic system to give a nice body high by activating the immune system and keeping inflammation low.

Will definitely sprinkle ABV on my next chicken salad with decent glug of EVOO.

i experimented with this right after the firecrackers. after vaping, i emptied the bowl to under my tongue and held it for 15 minutes. ive read that tinctures get absorbed quicker there so figured i try it...worked for me. naturally i digested it with a swig as well. certainly added a "boost" to the experience.

I am a nubie to cooking with Cannabis. I am an expert when it comes to Peanut Butter(PB).

Natural PB is made with 100% Peanuts, maybe some salt. Natural PB will separate at room temperature. When you buy it in the store, it will have a layer of oil on top. You will have to mix in the oil to get great PB.

My technique is to place the PB unopened in the cupboard upside down. The next morning the oil with be at the bottom of the jar. With the oil at the bottom it is much easier to mix in the oil. I like to go over board on the mixing, then mix some more. Once you have it mixed to you liking, close the jar and put it in the fridge. I put it in the fridge upside down. The next morning you have perfectly creamy spreadable PB that tastes just like peanuts. It will separate if you don't put it in the fridge.

The only thing better the natural PB is the processed PB that is loaded with sugar,mmm Skippy.

Enough about PB, I am very interested in Canna-PB or Bud PB.

Here is my plan.

Skim the oil off the top of a jar of natural PB.

Using a double boiler to heat up the oil. Add the ground up herb and cook. My research tells me that THC/Cannabinoids are soluble in oil at room tempurature. I don't have a week to soak my herb in oil. The double boiler will make sure I don't burn the herb or start an oil fire. I think a 1 hour cooking time will do the trick. There are many post on how to make Canna Oil.

Cool and strain the oil, now add it back into the PB jar and mix it up.

Sounds too easy and too good to be true. I do have concerns about how much oil I will have to work with. It might limit how much herb that can be addd. I will cook it tonight and taste it tomorrow.

^ Sorry I'm neither a cooking expert nor PB expert, so my suggestion might be silly, but could you not use natural peanut oil from bottle in whatever quantity and make the herb oil with that? Then you could make it in a more manageable quantity. You would tip away the oil from the PB (or save and store for later/next batch) as it seperates and replace with the herb charged peanut oil.

Great idea, glad I saw this before I went to the store.

I could make a few jars and give them to friends. Maybe just use 4 jars, should give me enough oil to work with. The possibilities are endless. (eg. you use oil to make pop corn)

Worked great.

Bought 1 small jar of Adams All Natural Crunchy PB and 400ml of peanut oil.

I cooked the peanut oil and the separated oil from the PB with about 10g. ( half freash half vaped )
How much herb you cook is a personal preference.

Once the oil was cooled and filtered, I added it back into the PB jar. I mixed it up and put it in the fridge.

The next day I had toast and PB. It was just like the brownies I make with butter.

Tonight I made a stir-fry with the charged peanut oil, bam. FC!!!
