I never would have thought that the dude form fear factor would be so insightful lol. I mean i knew he was funny because i've heard some of his standup before, but he hits the nail right on the head with this one.

I agree 100% with everything he has to say on this. It's one of the many benefits of thc that i have been trying to express to people for years. It changes your perception and forces you to think about things outside your normal, limited box of thoughts. Its just a question of how much the individual wants to stay in denial in their comfort zone, ignoring the greater truths and facts and overlooking the bigger picture. Its like people walk around zoomed in on a little part of the picture, and weed just makes you take a step or 12 back and zoom out and see how youve just been focusing on a few pathetic pixels of much more amazing universe and existence.

The big picture is amazing and awful, and that awe can lead to
some scary thoughts if it is not balanced with a deep understanding
of life and our place in it. When you realize that security is an
illusion, it forces you to live in the moment. Frightful!!

Joe Rogan and Sigur Ros wasn't a combo I would have come up with myself, but they make it work.

If you enjoyed this you should check out some of his podcast material on psychedelics. I thought this guy was a total ass based on Fear Factor, but he's actually kind of a street genius. He always surprises me.

i've gotten paranoid before, and it wasn't for any of the reasons he suggested.

it was from vertigo, a condition i've experienced before that just happens to manifest when i'm in high places, i believe the environment definitely contributed to the horror of the experience, but there was no doubt the role that the drug played.

that being said it is something i've experienced completely sober, the drug just stirred the emotion up a bit, it didn't create something that wouldn't have existed otherwise.

If you're at peace with yourself then you won't have paranoid thoughts or feelings in general. I am not however, but I usually do pretty well. I had an indica strain that made me feel crappy, though, so I gave it to people who were in a better position to appreciate it.

In my experience you can really understand what he's talking about (the big picture of life) on psychadelics like lsd and mushrooms, pot does the same but in a smaller way.

I liked what he had to say though. I'm guna check out his podcasts when i get a chance.

Yeah, i think Tim Leary said it best, on LSD:
"The effect is somewhat like looking through a microscope - suddenly you discover that there's an invisible world around you that you hadn't known about until you did it."

The true usefulness of substances that alter our perspectives and perceptions, from weed to lsd, is very underestimated. While some may not have any scientifically provable benefits on our physical bodies, the changes it can make on a person's mind and how they view life and existence as a whole can drastic - which is exactly what most of us need.

Most of us just walk around with tunnel vision, so focused on the comparatively-insignificant troubles of each day. Our minds get consumed and confined by the worries of the meaningless jobs that we have to slave away at every day so that we can afford to give in to the wants and desires that are implanted into our minds by a constant, corporate-sponsored media barrage. What a waste of existence that is.

Very true. Thats why i mainly only like vaping in the comfort of my own home, and when the water is completely still. It can be very helpful for helping you discover what things need addressed in your life though.

Yeah I had a lot of trouble with cannabis the last few times I've done it as I was super stressed about school and getting work done on time. I still had an okay time, but the stress really got to me when I was vaped.

This is EXACTLY how i think about this subject. We are nothing more then a tiny life form on a TINY planet, struggling to stay alive on a daily basis with the illusion that everything will go according to plan.

I believe that the universe has no plan and that anything can happen at any moment but regardless, we are helpless at a larger scale. think of us as any other creature on this earth and your perspective will change, I guarantee it.

Very interesting. The most frightening for me right now to accept and learn about is death. I don't think about it when I'm high, but more when i'm sober. It just kind of comes in my head all the time and I think about what happens after death and I panic because I worry that there will be nothing.

Any tips on how to help control / overcome my fears of death and accept it?

Thanks!

Enjoy life, fuck death. After death, chemicals(drugs) are still being released into your brain, which stays active for quite some time, silently tripping after the body has died.

I sometimes randomly think of death, and how its one of the major foundations of life but how its also a sad time. I fear death but I also embrace my life.

have a good day everyone, positive vibes! :)

come to the realization that death is inevitable.
from there make the decision to keep living or to give up.

Elluzion,
Everything in the known universe eventually passes away
so we are in good company.
Death is the flip-side of life and should be embraced as
another facet of this miraculous experience called life.
Maybe I'm fooling myself, but death seems like a great
vacation to me, just as life can be a constant vacation when
you realize the total mystery of existence.
I believe that we all have been conditioned to fear death so
that we all do not jump off the nearest cliff a la the lemmings.
Life cannot be figured out, only experienced, enjoy! :peace: :2c:

People need to understand that there is another world, a world built of our consciousness, the spirit world if you will. And this world is just as real, if not more real, than our physical world. Lucid dreams, psychedelic mushrooms, peyote, DMT, and even marijuana are all ways to peer into this other dimension.

In this other dimension you are no longer connected to your physical body, you see the world through the perspective of everything at once, you see things so beautiful and complex they could never be explained in any human language. Anyone who thinks people who do these drugs are just tripping, are wrong. We are seeing what is really here, the human mind has a function that blocks people from seeing everything at once. And psychedelics disable this and let you see things for what they really are. Marijuana is on the lowest end of this spectrum, you stay in the physical world, but get a minor glimpse of this greater power, this entity. And I would say DMT is on the highest end of the spectrum, you are completely lost in this world and have no recollection of the physical world. Although you are completely satisfied with everything, and this world makes so much sense(possibly more so than ours), and you know everything will be OK because when you die and your brain releases all the DMT you are forever in this world, back where you started before birth. No one can no any of this for sure, but there are so many books and people that agree. And I probably didn't present this information the best, but hopefully someday more people understand of this conscious world, and once again, as human beings have done since the beginning of time, everyone will use marijuana and psychedelics regularly again. They are our natural tools to peek into what the universe really is, and yes it may be scary, but it is necessary to know this before death, or you are missing out on what life really is. Well IMO. :D
