One of the other users on the board used an LSV heater cover to turn their Buddha into a large log type vape. When I tried it I never went back to the stock cover.

Tempting. But not sure it fits my vape station ergonomics.

Still might grab one cause I like to tinker haha. Do you use the regular DB wand or the lsv wand?

I am really liking the whip lifestyle these days actually.

I broke the LSV wand early on and replaced it with various 18.8 adapters and stems. I am mostly a stem user but rigging a whip is really easy too.

hello all,I've been reading the comments but cant seem to find a definitive answer so I will have to ask,can you use these quartz beads with a standard GG heater cover?also where is a good source for the quartz beads?

HI all !
I'm reading all that discussion and wan't to share what i have done with the ideas i got from here :

I just cut a piece of quartz from a bong downstem i don't use anymore… Fuck combustion !!!
3 cm (the first) and 1 cm (the second to cover the whole heating rod_ if you're more clever than I am and know how to take measurements, you won't have to cut it twice :bang::hmm::D:D:D)

Here are the pics !
IMG-20200217-110248.jpg

High tube in position (2 pieces tubing)
IMG-20200217-110203.jpg

lower tube version (less thermal mass…)

More détails :
Full glass tubing

shorter glass tubing
IMG-20200217-110300.jpg

I did this myself instead of waiting an order to come from the US (and i'm in europe…)
Time and shipping taxes from USA are a PITA…
My "creation" inspired by any comments here works very well.
Adding glass, adding thermal mass…
The consequence is having the hole unit way much warmer, and the air flow more consistent (even if it was already, but I feel it more "temp-stable". It's only a matter of taste anyway. You'll have to try to know if it fit your likings ! ^^
I'm a flower-flavor-lover, so i'm in search for a lower temp extraction and i think with more thermal mass i'll get an improved low-temp air-flow !
I gess with that higher stable temp, dabs must be so easy (but i don't have acces to rosin or concentrates…)

Main improvements are for me :
- MUCH warmer
- More consistent warm air flow.
I feel i can pull way more hard without loosing temp compare to the former configuration. Yes, it's a very subjective point here…
- A true n' heavy "One hitter" used with @DDave mods for microdosing !
- My SSV Rocks ! It did anyway, but it's now a dangerous vape "for self induced comas" and evening face meltin' :) !
any mods can be taken away, and this particular one rise my surfer to the "steamboat" level !!!

I think this little quartz tube 7th floor is offering is going to be a cornerstone for any water-bubbler-filter-lover !!! size of it does matter, and i'm sure they will do all the research and developpement process to give us the best improvement for our beloved vapes.

… and i'll definitely keep this thermal-mass mod !
Have a nive vape day all !

I can't imagine this mod really adding much thermal mass, seems to me the rod mod works by insulating the heater and reducing the airflow channel, increasing contact time between air and the heating element and adding a bit more draw restriction to manipulate the vapor pressure.

Also are you sure it's Quartz? Downstems are usually made from borosilicate.

- not reducing that much air draw but you might be right on this one anyway.
I guess i need more time to test this mod.
- I'm not sure it's Quartz, i guess you're right on this one too :)

I got my quarts heater enhancer for Da Buddah.

Da Buddah thread isnt as lively and feel like this kind of fits here so...

First thing.
My quartz cover covers the whole ceramic rod. (it doesn't stick out the top)
Da Buddah heater cannot go down all the way with the quartz enhancement on. AKA its loose. The da buddah heater does not fit on the metal holder snugly with the quartz enhancement on. It doesn't reach the screws... only gets down to about half way... the quartz enhancer hits to the op of the heater cover. Look out when you first put your heater on. I almost broke it all trying to get it on. It is seated but I can see it becoming an annoyance coming off the stand mid use.

I also got the SSV fatty wand to use. so this post won't have a good comparison since my herb is now sitting further away from the heater than i am used to as well as having the enhancement.

Wow.. Just filled up the fatty wand with dispensary CBD strain. filled the fatty ball up 3/4 of the round fatty area, lol. set temp to 12. nice hits... could get more vapor.... moved to about 3 o clock. very good. very nice clouds.

very nice! I just wish my heater was more secure... edit: pushed in the wire tension holder to improve the heater cover attachment. seems to be better but still not a snug as when the heater is all the way covering the metal holder.

Just bought a green/purple one of these off of craigslist for cheap as hell since it was missing the wand. Just waiting for parts. Hope I like it.

Is it weird to say that I want this for the AromaTop? I'm a bachelor who lives with a platonic woman. I drink a lot of beer. I fart. This might make living with me better (for her since I am a Gentleman) and...I can get high on my anti-fart machine! Sweet.

Funny you mentioned the Aromatop. I also bought a SSV off of Craigslist for cheap, sent it to 7th floor for refurb and picked up the Aroma top as an addition. I just plugged the unit in for the first time and placed the Aroma top on. It's been heating for probably 5 or so minutes, and the provided wax hasn't started to melt yet.

I'll provide more feedback after some use.

I'm am really liking the quartz heater cover on da buddah.
(Also I noticed on the site that the quartz heater covers are different sizes for each model vape-db-ssv-sssv)

The fatty ssv wand it's great too.

I am getting great Rips at 1-230ish. The fatty wand packs a good amount... The quartz heater cover keeps up... It's insane. First two hits were ghost but felt like lungfulls of terps. I was surprised nothing if anything came out. Especially on the second draw. 3rd draw was decent... And just about the rest from there are like.... No end.... I haven't scorched a bowl... But with the new fatty want I've been shaking the herb between some of the draws.

Get it.

I feel like this feels like a new vaping experience all around (out of any vape not just ssv etc). At least the way I am using it.. hard to explain... But it's really good. I wish I still had the volcano to compare it to. The amount of weed I get to use with the fatty stem is great...

I had no idea that they were selling quartz heater covers now for the DBV and SSV. That's interesting news!

I guess it's time to upgrade my DBV and SSV heater covers then! Off to the 7th Floor website I go to find them.......

*edit* I'm not seeing them, just the standard glass heater covers. Are you just talking about the Quartz Enhancement Tube, that allows you to fill the glass heater cover with glass beads so they don't rest against the ceramic heater element, that others here have been discussing here recently?

Yeah, the enhancement tube, but i didn't add beads.

Idk if i was over reacting... i should take it off and compare to with out.

Maybe I am misunderstood?
Dab’s are not what I MEAN.
COLAS before brick weed in the early 70’s of the last century!
On surf trip’s to MEXICO (mainland-central) COLAS were the fashion?
Today there not in Vogue?
The SSV wired to your car would have saved paper’s!
COLAS = monkey tails in Spanish or the top’s of the cannabis plant.

Oh, they are plenty in Vogue...but those big top colas are expensive as fuck.
We poor folk are often limited to the lower level popcorn buds.
Colas are cool and medicate beyond reason?
Why aren’t they pushed?

SSV is very strong for some?
COLAS are for pier action joe to the max!

very strong unit the SSV if you’re not afraid of power?

I thought just the tube alone will do all the heated mass and surface area part, and there might not be room for much else to fit down there?
The beauty of this is that no added screens are needed.

See, I thought it was to allow you to use the glass beads without them sitting against, and sticking/fusing to (or otherwise damaging) the ceramic surface of the heating element.

The repair service is really amazing for a vaporizer?
SSV is amazing if you like CANNABIS?

COLAS r-free somewhere?

There's a video out there, where all the connections and hands free adapters are explained and which one is usable how in the Silver and the Super Surfer.

I'm quite sure it's from 7thfloor, cause I'm remembering the 7thfloor guy in the video, but I can't find it in their youtube channel.
Maybe someone can help out?
