Apollo II (Dynatec) Review :
It's been a couple of weeks now, just a few thoughts. This is my first induction heater (so far). Mostly before getting the Apollo I used a larger model torch but one with a nice tight pointed flame tip, Rarely combusted and was pretty happy as it was BUT vas curiosity being what it is I had to know what all the fuss was about. I must say it's as convenient as can be and works flawlessly. That said I'm not sure if I got a weak one or if it's normal or not but I regularly go 3 to 4 seconds past the click, with my big lighter I never go beyond the click more than 1 second. I also tried double dipping (heat to click pull out/push it back in/pull it out/push back in/pull back out, inhale, this does give a warmer thicker toke possibly close to combustion but not quite.
The thing I find most interesting between the torch and the IH is with the torch most bowls are evenly dark roasted throughout, with the IH especially when driving it hard when opened afterwards I find the thinnest layer (the material closest to/almost touching the cap end) way dark roasted (almost scorched, I can taste it) and the rest of the load considerably a lighter colour than with the torch. I like them both but they are two different creatures for sure.
@juanavape you did not get a weak heater. Dynavap put out a video with the owner of Lucid and they described different techniques that work really well. I had the same experience as you, except maybe the burnt layer, and i was going 3-5 seconds past the click. I got much better results using their techniques.
These are just the tips. The longer video and interview is worth watching.
All that being said, I do get better control and bigger clouds with a lighter but I enjoy the convenience of the IH. I'm finding Im going through 5 cycles with the IH where I can do 3 with a torch.

Same here. between 4 to 6 solid cycles on average, using the Caldron IH, regardless of tip type.

Practice and persistence will have anyone vacating a VapeCap in 3 draws using an IH. 1st to the click - 2nd add a second - and third, add 2-1/2 seconds. That gets 90% of the bulk vape. That is my IH and my clicker of course. But it can be done. I've got my IH tuned to "HOT". The end of my cap is as pristine as the day it was minted.
But there is a lot to be said for dip & sip as PP has pointed out. Keep it hot and just destroy that load in one fail swoop.
Since I use a vial to set my depth, I always get significant honey buildup. Worth knowing. Watch for 'whisps of vape' when you pull the VC from the IH. Good indicator a quick alcohol wipe may be prudent.

Yeah, if I want the thickest, tastiest hits, then I use my single flame torch.
If speed and convenience are more important, then I use the induction heater.
@TommyDee dipping and sipping has been my preferred way to use an IH and I struggle to go back and follow the click.
Had a bit of testing to do the other day and even when heat soaking the tip I found it really tedious waiting for that cool click.

Lightly tamp the load back by a mm or 2.
Slowing down your draw speed will help get a more even extraction through the whole load.
And for those of us who travel with an IH, Iso wipe the inside of the glass tube. As Tommy says it gets clarted up and could well set a dogs nose off.
Mines been to Spain and back a couple of times with no problems, Vegas will be my next tester.
They go in a Lipo Safe bag for good measure.

I just got my first dynavap. I decided to go with the simrell vortex and bought the cap and ti tip for a complete setup. This might be an overkill for a first time dynavap user, but I wanted a better experience. Ironically, I tried one my friends M and hated the feel of it. It just felt cheap to me when twisting it probably because of the grooves was not a fan. The simrell has an amazing feel when it comes using a torch. I am really enjoying it so far.

It was, and it is, but IH's work so consistently and easily that many enjoy that method as well. Even George has a branded IH now.
I would suggest that the majority still use a torch most of the time and for some all the time. I don't have a portable IH so it is always still a torch when out and about with a vapcap, but at home it is mostly my JarHead. Tho I tend to use a torch at home when using concentrate as that seems to work better.

Well, it's about heat, and various ways of heating the cap have always been discussed and used – George doesn't like his devices being called „butane vapes“ because that would suggest that using a butane torch is „the right way“ of using a DV. But it's just one way.
I get your point, though – but the thing is: even when the battery driven helper fucks up, you'll be able to use the actual device, so after all you'll stay battery / electricity independent.

I used an electric stove burner to heat up a capful in my titanium tip once. Laid the side of the cap against it in the Middle where I would normally hit it with the torch and rolled it back and forth till she clicked. Couldn't believe that shit actually worked!
I would definitely use an induction heater or ANY torch I could get my hands on, versus standing at the STOVE doing Vape sessions, though.
