The dinosaur plug came in handy on a trip to a remote Tassie island where I used a Sat TV power cord to charge my Mighty at a Hotel (my charger was already on a barge back to the mainland). But yeah, USB-C would normally be better.
It seems more and more items are changing to USBc...magnetic charging would also be nice as an option.

I don't know if that third party accessory by French Touch Vaporizer was already mentionned here...:

The temperature accuracy with this vape is much better than the old Mighty i had. I used to set the temperature a few degrees lower than what i really wanted in the Mighty because of the swing it would have as it was bouncing back from hit to hit. It would always go 3 or 4 degrees f higher than i set it, just to make sure it was staying within range. The Crafty+ is much better at this.

You might want to check Troy's review on 420vapezone before you blow your money.

It is 3 years if registered, but yes to the rest.
I'm back and satisfied. Does anyone have a recommendations French Touch Cape AS cooling unit for Crafty?

I asked the makers about any reason for concern regarding the temperature fuse on the Crafty+, if they had found any cause for premature or forced failure, or had managed to keep the same value temperature fuse and this is how they responded:

We are always improving our devices. Not only that there has been some significant changes with the CRAFTY+, also the CRAFTY has been improved over the years.

Good to hear that.
So while they were, as usual, tight lipped about the specifics, they almost confirmed what fuckcombustion.com had come up with themselves from use and user reports.
That maybe 20% extra battery models circa. 2017 had improved the condition.
I also think the 2017 models were a little faster to heat than early Crafty, but always slower than Mighty.
When I tried it my Crafty+ was slightly faster than a plugged in Mighty.

I previously tried to get more info about this improved housing material, but they were likely busy that time and i didn't get a reply to that one, I think I'll ask again as I'm interested to know if it will ever crack like the older stuff or not. Both on this one and a possible Mighty+ model.
Just will be be nice if they won't ever crack and can tolerate some opening and closing for a battery change or two!
Even if it still cracks after some years ill probably stick with these vapes! They almost pay for themselves at that stage.

Regarding the French stainless steel cooling unit: It apparently has been significantly upgraded since Troy reviewed it. When I looked at the innards on the company's website, it is completely different from what we'd seen before. And they've obviously recast the piece and just as obviously improved all the externals like refining the finning...finally. Actually quite interesting all they've done since the first iteration. I'm impressed with the desire for high technical quality, functional effectiveness, and beauty...in the pics this is really lovely, at least to my eyes.

I just did my taxes. I'm getting a decent refund. This is my splurge...or one of them. I'll post when I get it and have used it.

So their answer does not say anything about the fuse...oh well...

I’ve had my Crafty since May ‘16 (it was a replacement for the OG) which means it is before they updated the battery.
Here is a quick update on how it is faring 3 1/2 years in:

I only use dry herbs, but I always put a concentrate pad on top of the herbs so that I don’t need to clean as often. Without it, I probably wouldn’t use nearly as much because the CU gets gunked up pretty fast. (Although now that I have an ultrasonic cleaner, I may revisit as the CU cleans so easily with the UC).

I only have about 62 hours on it (I rotate through my vapes quite a bit.)

I tend to get 3-4 sessions per battery charge (mostly 4) with sessions running about 7 1/2 to 9 minutes each.
With a fully charged battery, the heat up to 370F takes about 2:35.
By the fourth session, the heat up time is up to a miserable 4:30ish.

It takes under 3 hours to recharge.

I never go back to an already vaped oven (once I turn it off once, the herb is spent - cannot go back for seconds as taste is terrible by then and basically gets cooked on cool-down)
Actually, on that note, I start at 370F and hit until no more vapor and then boost to 410F. I can usually only get another hit or two at the high temp - but it is basically spent at the lower temp unless I really overpack it.

I guess I am posting this because even with the subpar battery life, heat-up time, and poor efficiency I still use my Crafty several times a week.
Why?
Because I always feel the effects - it has yet to let me down - it is one of my favorite and consistent vape signatures out there (for me).

Once it dies, I will definitely upgrade to the plus (or possibly Mighty).
But for now, it is an old workhorse that always has my back, as long as I am willing to wait a few minutes.

Vape Critic said on a live stream today that the Crafty+ beats the TinyMight. Now i feel like i made the right decision. I trust bud's opinion.

Mee too...until the Ghost fanboy days and then I found out he still combusts
I still watch the reviews, I just don't take too much notice of his flavor comments, same goes for Troy at 420Vapezone, another combustor, great videos but flavor advice...mmh

I too was a fan of Bud, watched most of his review, and became a member of vapecritic. But his involvement with Ghost seriously undermined his credibility and his reputation as an unbiased reviewer trying to help those of us getting into vaping. I was on the waiting list for Ghost...and then all the problems started. I haven't been back to Bud's site since, not even once.

You can still use him as a resource, just remember where he’s coming from. If you’ve got a couple of vapes you can cobble together enough information from multiple sites to make an informed decision.

It was yesterday on the G43 live stream

Got my Crafty + yesterday after owning a few Mighty’s throughout the years and really enjoying them. Question , as I was doing my 2nd session with it I had noticed towards the end the solid Blue light had went on , is this normal and what does this mean ? as I couldn’t find any info on it in the manual besides meaning it is fully charged when on the charger .

A blinking blue/red light signaled overheating on the original Crafty. Never had this problem with the Crafty+. Maybe you should do a hard reset. When your unit is on press the power button and hold it for 10 seconds. The Crafty will vibrate and show some lights. It helps sometimes. Vape on!

I’ll give it a try , weird being it’s brand spanking new. It was just a solid blue light and I only double tapped the button once during the session . Ty

* Also if anyone is familiar with the app , is it only the starting temp we can change and boost ( double click or triple click ? ) I ramped yo my starting temp a bit via the app but I am not sure if it saves when I am out of the app .

The blue light when turning the Crafty off is the battery indicator.

maybe it went into auto shutoff and showed the blue light as a feature to tell me the battery life ?

Oh nice ty for easing my mind for some reason I couldn’t find that explanation pulling up the manual but maybe I read past it . Now about the temp changing via app do you know if it stays for the next time you start the crafty + up ?

Yes it will save your temperature you have typed in the app until you do a hard reset or reset via the app.

I have the flashing red/yellow green amber light. Sounds like time for a thermal fuse, I have 47 hours and 35 minutes on this unit , probably two years old. Sending out a PM to take care of this to JCat, I’m thinking he can fix me up. I would like to keep this unit going as it has been one of my favorites. I’m guessing battery pack upgrade simple swap out Bibbity Bop I’m back in business. I have used this mainly with the micro dosing capsules and it has been perfect for that.
