So I'm curious as to what's going on with the Dynavap website....... A month or so ago I lost all of my past data (orders, etc.) This week I ordered their IH but shipping standards have changed I guess. Past shipments have always been sent by US Post at like $13.00 (I live in Cananda), never had a problem. This order I didn't seem to have any options except to accept shipping via DHL at $28.00 (ouch !), but the worst part is that all I've received from Dynavap is confirmation that my order has been placed (and my Visa's been dinged) but nothing saying that it was actually shipped and/or a tracking number as I've always gotten before usually the same day or the day after placing my order. It's been a couple of days now...... I'll wait a few more days and then e-mail Dynavap I guess. Or is this standard practice when dealing with DHL ?

Problem resolved. It took a bit longer than usual for them to ship the item and supply me with a tracking number but it did come just in the last few minutes. Also interestingly the shipping notice stated that they actually did ship it USPS (not DHL), so I hope I didn't pay $28.00 for that. Hoping perhaps that they looked at my recent previous orders and figured it out.....

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
Thanks again for everyone who offered advice with my IH! I’m really dumb when it comes to electronics - maybe this is normal?

When I disconnect and reconnect my Caldron, it seems that I have to finagle the cord just right.

In the video, I tightly reconnect the jack, but no power. I gently re-position the cord and it works! A slight nudge disconnects the unit...

https://imgur.com/a/gr3ltvb < is this a short? The cord remains firmly in the jack the entire time...

Let me know if this happens to you!

I have been loving my Caldron. I did notice that the power adapter is just a common unit made in China. In doing some basic research I found several available, such as this model on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015G8E1Q4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It matches all of the specs as the model that ships with the Caldron. I picked one up, not because my original was broken, but to give me more than one location to move my Caldron without dragging the cord around. Now I can easily move the IH out to the garage for dynavaping in the workshop.

The best option might be a portable model, but for now I get a little more versatility for $10. (and a back up supply in case one goes bad)

IMO the quality of the Caldron is separate from the quality of a cheapo chinese adapter.

Is it jest me, or does anyone else see their combustion conundrum rate sore when they are simultaneously talking and heating their cap?

I have tried to make a habit of always putting the vapcap on a magnet holder after hitting it, then waiting for the cool down click. The times I combust is when I'm just holding it :p and forget the click before heating...

'cause I'm high :goat:

How does everyone enjoy the fat mouthpiece? Is it a cheap way to create a tight wpa seal?

I posted a few days ago about the 10 (f) to 14 (m) GonG adapters. They work well but they tend to stay in the water pipe after a big ole rip, forcing you to reattach the adapter to the dynavap.

Is the fat mouthpiece an item I should buy a few to have around?

Long draws
The little silicone washers that the stainless steel straws use to keep the straw in ss cups, (Yeti cups), work fantastic as airport blocker and fills a 14mm glass joint as a reducer. Just leave it on the VC, helps to turn the VC over flame. Doc
Or rubber finger grips from a pen, they block the airport and provide enough to make the 10m a 14m.

My partner also loves them as they put a nice soft mouthpiece on the end of an Ariser Solo glass tube. Perfect fit.
I find them finicky for WPA use as they're kind of "sticky". Use a wooden NonaVong for better results.

I like the idea of the Nona/HydraVong - but I like to thoroughly clean my pieces. How can I deep clean the wood stem? Remind me, is there a condenser in those wood stems? They’re really nice to look at!

The condenser is optional. I don't usually bother with one for WPA use. I clean it inside with a small wire brush (think mini bottle brush) and sometimes a small amount of dish-soap, plenty of warm water rinsing, dry thoroughly, give it a bit of wax or oil at least on the hot end and done.

There is, and that's where the vapor travels – as with the M or the Omni, the stem doesn't get in touch with the vapor at all.
Really? That sounds cool.

Cool - I’m kinda lazy. I toss the dynavap m into either isopropyl or equal parts hot water and isopropyl. Comes out sparkling after five minutes. I dry overnight. I apply the slightest bit of hemp oil to the rings.

Wanted to thank @Pipes again for troubleshooting my issue. As @BabyFacedFinster mentioned, the excellent quality of the Caldron is independent of the power adapter.

I have zero experience with this stuff - didn’t even know what an induction heater was a month ago! But @Pipes was able to troubleshoot and set me up with a replacement power adapter yesterday. Should be here soon!

Thanks again everyone, especially @Pipes!

My thoughts were similar to yours.

I opted for glass water wands with a 14mm male joint on one end. Can do an iso soak easily and just rinse after soaking.

You can find cheap ones on DHgate or DDave sells a likely higher quality one on his store.

I highly recommend them.

Next time before you clean your M, disassemble it and take a look into the stem – I'm sure you'll find no residue or the like.
mine always have reclaim residue inside the stem... very little but it's still there. could be from removing the condenser as it's tip uh ... penetrates the bore of the uh tip which obviously has lots of reclaim in it.
