Is there an issue with filtration on the E nano? It’s basically a glass stem with a little screen so it looks to me like a lot of particulars could come through to your mouth?
I am pretty sensitive to small bits getting through. If you notice anything, toss in some organic unbleached cotton and maybe another basket screen to hold it in.
I usually use my nano on a j-hook and don't notice anything coming through

Team NO SLEEP!
Do you use a standard flat screen with the clip on top? My screen gets clogged after a couple stems, so I was thinking about ordering some basket screens

Yessir, standard flat screen. Maintenance is minimal but essential. I simply remove clip and push the screen out using a piano wire from the mouthpiece side. I drop the screen in a small container (usually a medicine cup) with ISO. Swish it around for 30 seconds with a Qtip and it is like new. The whole ordeal is less than 2 mins and it is dry and reinstalled. I tend to keep these items within reach on my workbench, so it is never an inconvenience. I absolutely ADORE the minimal restriction with this setup, and will always have it ON 24/7.

A few quick questions if you please, how hard is it to get that little spring clip in and out and where do you put the o-rings? Thanks

I have no issues with the clip. I use this tool, second from the left with the slight bend. You can get these sorts of Hook sets from any Harbor Freight or hardware store. I do not recommend dabbing with these, they are cheap.

12-02642.jpg

I have both newer and older Eds stems, the older ones do not have O rings.
My newer one might, but I never remove the bushing piece to clean. It is unnecessary. Simply popping out the screen allows you to clean it, and get a qtip through the entire piece. I've never found any further disassembly required, even for a really complete cleaning.

Super excited to see what Ed sends out next! I hope he posts pics!

Dial on 7 in da nano, how much is the temperature +-? thanks

In one of the previous 924 pages is this, by @Dafni:

5: 150-160°C (302-320°F)
5.5: 165-175°C (329-347°F)
6: 180-190°C (356-374°F)
6.5: 195-205°C (383-401°F)
7: 210-220°C (410-428°F)
7.5: 225-235°C (437-455°F)
8: 240-250°C (464-482°F)

Approximately. I copied it, cause i knew I'd never find it again.

I must respectfully disagree. Variation between E-nano units, electrical current, house wiring, etc. makes for a huge variation in what Nano numbers mean.

For example: if I go much above 5.25 or so, I'll get combustion. I keep mine hovering just below 5.

Each individual has to find their own sweet spot for their own set of circumstances.

the gap between the heater and the gap is enough right? i also heard about some friend who's never go beyond 6, he said it makes him cough

Ambient temp too. Have to turn my dial up a bit in the cooler months.

Hi folks. After using the e-nano almost daily for about 4 years now I thought I'd offer an update:

It is now clear from my experience and from browsing this thread, that the enano is fantastic but there is a fundamental design flaw. The problem is a result of the combination of a few issues:

1-The rigidness and flat shape of the cable
, and
2-the vertical orientation of the cable socket, and
3-the small diameter of the e-nano's shell.

This makes it unstable and prone to get knocked over when sitting on a table, awkward to use with a bubbler because of the rigidnes of the cable, and likely to lead to breakage of the Gong adapter when used with a bubbler, as just happened to me. If you let go of the e-nano while attached to the bubbler, the cable can put tension and pull away , which can create enough leverage to break the gong where the metal heater rod inserts.

It gets worse: As you can see from various photos in the thread the wooden shell typically splits down the back after some time, with the split ending at the slot where the power socket is. I suspect the split happens in the first place because the power socket is under constant torque by the tendency of the cable to twist when placed on a table with the cable tangling off the edge of the table. I think this is what happens because in my case the split extends to the plastic socket itself....This happens because the cable wants to lie flat on the table where it bends over the edge, and to do that it must twist away from the vertical position that the power socket is forcing it to stay at. After a few days of use, the cable is always twisted all the way to the dial... which makes it even less flexible.

It is really obvious that the power cable needs to be changed to a more flexible cable, AT LEAST. Ideally the enano' shell needs a re-design to make it wider, with the power socket positioned horizontally.

It is unfortunate that these issues have still not been addressed
and that the new dimmer box continues to use the same awful cable, and has not offered a way to lock the dial to a chosen value. A good indented (clicky) potentiometer would be sufficient....

I'd like to see some less style over substance dsign at epicvape-- or I will just look to another vape when a replacement is due, as the constant cable hassle is getting annoying... and I use this in my living room - attaching cables to table legs with cable ties is not the elegant solution here!

Another related issue is that the GonG adapter is simply too long!!! It makes the enano stand precariosuly high above a bubbler, creating more leverage that can break the GonG- a metal on glass connection is always precarious... @epicvape: Please improve by shortening (easy) and ideally thickening the GonG adapter!

I would like to see epicvape take these common complaints in this thread seriously and respond with some improved designs rather than apologies and discount codes and marketing talk here.

Since the device only draws 30w max and averages at 15W I think a lighter and more flexible silicone-sheathed (as opposed to PVC) cable would be fine???

The beaty of this vape is that it keeps technology out of the way and offers a pure and natural experience. Why ruin it with cable hassle?

So how much more would you be willing to pay for the unit if all your issues were addressed? The Nano is a niche market item and often such products don't have big profit margins to work with. For my part I have adapted, fixed or just don't see some of your observations as concerns. However I raise my log to you and toast your four years of use, SALUTE.

Notr really here for arguments.
Replacing the stiff cable with something more flexible shouldn't add a lot to the cost. A differently designed e-nano with the tweaks I suggested shouldn't cost much more. Flexible silicone sleeved cables are not expensive.
The e-nano can be improved, that's all I'm saying. If it doesn't I'll probably be looking elsewhere for my next vape as the e-nano has been around for years now and can definitely be improved. It' s not like epicvape is a newcomer to the scene. European users have been asking for a 240V dimmer ( for that's what the cable is, a cheap chinese light dimmer) since day one... but we're probably a negligible part of the customer base...

I will be hacking the cable and replacing the part after the dimmer with a longer, silicone-sleeved (as opposed to cheap PVC) flexible cable... but I'm not a DIY guy and don't get much joy from having to do such hacks.

I put one of these on my enano back in late 2016. It has never been off since. It does reduce side-pull when used inverted on a bubbler, which is the only way I've ever used mine.

Picked up a Nano back in Nov 2019, with both power cable options. In my case, both power cables, the standard and the wood box have cords that are as stiff as fully cooked spaghetti noodles pulled out of a hot pot, Ive experienced virtually NO stiffness......whatsoever......even in pretty cold temps. I also disagree with it being prone to being knocked over, if you are flailing your hand all around, maybe, but not during any reasonable usage I could imagine. As further proof, I hooked up the regular cable, placed the Nano at the end of my counter in my kitchen and hung the entire weight of the cable and dimmer off the end and the Nano didn't even shrug, picked up the dimmer a few inches and left go, still nothing, it took me raising and dropping the entire weight of the cable plus the dimmer over a full foot before the Nano danced, and even then did not fall over. So im not sure what youre doing thats giving yours that issue.

While I will partially agree with you that the plug could be set into the unit better, I dont see anything even close to what you are describing with stiff cables. I can't even imagine how many power cables I have in my house at the moment but I wouldn't hesitate for 1 second to present either Nano power cable as the most flexible power cable (for the size) that I have. I could perhaps post a video of it flopping all over in my hand but Im thinking maybe you just received a cable from a stiff batch maybe, or, even more possible as I believe some others have mentioned, they could have indeed already updated the material since you received your unit. I could also post the data stamped onto the cables if that would be benefit to anyone. I think this also covers the "torquing issue" because I can sit here and spin and twist both cables, several times over with the Nano just sitting there and there is barely any appreciable pressure on the plug end into the unit itself. If this was indeed a stiff cable, and it would need to be down right hard, I could see this maybe being an issue over time. With these cables I received, I cannot see it being an issue even over a lengthy service life.

IMO the biggest thing that needs an upgrade would be the dimmer itself, we do not need such a large range, instead of 1-10 how about enlarging 4-8 as thats where id suspect 95% of users stay within, this way we would have much finer control and adjusting everything would be quite a bit easier.

After everything Ive gone though putting them (both cables) through some paces, I suspect they already have updated the cables and you have yet to try one.

Not arguing with you, just firmly disagreeing due to my experiences being so far and gone from your own.

These issues have been brought up repeatedly throughout this thread. I think your definition of "stiff" may be a bit unorthodox.... The e-nano's cable is one of the stiffest I have ever used in over a decade of tinkering with electronic music gear... I have literally bagfulls of cables of various kinds!

My peeve really is that epicvape have become succesful primarily through this forum as far as I can tell, yet they do not seem to be taking in hardly any of the user feedback on here.

True about the historic cable gripes from users, and also true are posts from users referring to an updated cable, even ones comparing the 2 like I have, noting the clear improvement....sooooo, back to the ghetto test lab for me.

I doubt my definition of stiff is unorthodox, I take the stock cable, hold the end that plugs into the Nano completely vertical, minus the actual plug itself, it takes less then 1 inch of cable slack (actually more like 5/8 inch, again held totally vertical, before the cable FULLY flops pointing directly to the ground. If this is stiff, perhaps your definition is the outlier. Im not going to bother with the wood box cable as its the same, very pliable cord. Not really sure how else I can prove this fact to you aside from going through the hassle of a video. Id be curious to your results from performing a similar test on your cable/cables.

Now just to be absolutely clear, this is not on the level of pliability as say a length of string or dental floss, but less then 2 inches of vertical wire before it is at 0o down angle, is not stiff at all let alone overly stiff as to cause damage to the unit over time.

When did you get the newest cable you use for your Nano?

I'd like to weigh in that I got my e-nano in August, so 6 months ago. My cable is also very pliable and I would not use stiff when describing it at all.

I use it about 6-8 times a day and just the other day I had to unplug the cord from the nano side and untwist the cable. However , the cord had remained flexible throughout its twisted state, I just didn't like the looks of it.

Love my e-nano!
