Sorry if this is obvious, but what's a plaster? Do you have a picture of this setup?

I knew this is not the correct word, but Google let me think otherwise :| How do you call in English the thing you stick on wounds? Adhesive bandage? Patch? Sticking plaster? It's seems to be made of cotton and is really bad at transmitting heat [to your lips], so that's perfect for prolonged native use :p

I use it also as a glass seal:

That works too. Yes, it’s called an adhesive strip or band-aid. Very clever! Someone mentioned a while back plumbers tape, sold on Amazon or in any hardware store, which also will work. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s on my list to obtain to better mate the Hopper and glass stems to glass rigs, water pipes, etc.

My two older Hopper batteries aren’t yielding much these days and the death knell is near for both. I’m using 2 of 5 new batteries in rotation and carefully monitoring them despite HL’s recommendation to dispose of them (I’d been using all 5 for a couple of weeks without issue before the fire; the other 3 and now a couple of additional ones given to me by a friend, are resting in kitty litter). My repaired Hopper continues to shine and work so damn well, using it daily. I may pull another batt or two from kitty litter storage and include them in rotation since I use my Hopper heavily. Cheers. :peace:

EDIT: something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Everflow-812...rs+tape&qid=1580306114&sprefix=plumber&sr=8-3

I don't think the image that @YetAnotherUsername posted is what we call a "band-aid". I guess, as a first-aid tape it does have adhesive on it. It comes in a roll and is used when dressing a wound, to hold gauze in place.

I do wonder if it is heat safe.

What size fit best and where could I get it?
They are all called 510 drip tip and the size will vary between by tenths of millimeters so you need to head to a vape shop and hope to try some on

I bought 3 different ones and only one of them fits well enough to stay but would carry the hopper around holding it by the attached drip tip  but holds tight enough to stay on if hopper is in my pocket and such

I love the natural taste of the hopper "dope gun" without glass rig, drip tip, or 3-d printed chillum. I am looking forward to my IO hopper coming soon.

I have three hoppers and an IO on order and I'm a supporter. I've read this post multiple times and I giggle a little every time at the thought that you expect it to be coming soon.

Forgive me father for I have sinned...

So after multiple RMAs (yeah, you know this tune) my OG GH was finally returned to me this past Aug in good working condition. That is, it was running cold after multiple RMAs then finally they fixed it properly (I think) and it performed again as it did when new. Not a DD for me, as use a lot of desktops, but I love a proper working GH.

Went to use it on Thurs night and it suddenly started running cold again. The AVB was totally unacceptable as was the amount of vapor from flower that i know indeed steam pretty dang good.

I was very disappointed (VERY) but did notice that when I tried to use it that evening, when I first turned it on there was a very small wisp of smoke/vapor...very small...out of one of the air intake/LED light holes.

I'm thinking either something in the GH fried or perhaps more likely a bit of flower dropped through the screen and was hosing something up.

To the garage yesterday and my air compressor. 90 PSI ,out of a fairly small aperture air gun, in all of the intake holes and voila', it worked perfectly again.

TBH, I have long thought the lack of access to the heater and the temp sensor for cleaning out would result in issues and I do wish there was some way to get in there.

But reasonably high pressure squirted in there seemed to be the trick.

I do know that @Hopper Labs said that in the IO, they have shielded the temp sensor better....but its still hard to see how it and the heater won't get crapped over time and blowing in one hole hoping to blast stuff out of the screen holes isn't optimum and will do nothing for any accumulated reclaim in there.

So, my GH is back in great shape but I do....really do...wish that the heater and temp sensor were accessible for light cleaning as, IMO, no matter how coarse you grind, some small bits of plant material are sure to get down there.

Cheers

Thats why I like using pods, I wish grasshopper had that option, it would keep things clean and convenient.

Why? ...the pod needs a hole in one end for the air to come in and a hole on the other for the air to go out.

No different that the native oven except maybe just a bit harder to get through two screens but there will always be dust like particles of plant material, IME, and they will easily get into the heater area as the GH needs to be loaded standing up vertically, right?

Pods would certainly keep the oven walls and front end screen cleaner.

Update: @Hopper Labs has delivered on their promise of looking into my situation of not receiving my unit back. I received my return yesterday and used it a couple of time last night. I appreciate them standing by their word and doing all they could to make things right. Great job!

On another note, I've been away from this thread awhile until recently. Could someone inform me of what an IO hopper is? Mine was purchased originally in feb 2016

Next generation Grasshopper called Hopper io and io stands for instant-on.

Oooooof.
Just got a response to my just-about-to-ship-shit-there’s-a-fire warranty unit.
I’d gotten my hopes up as some of those seemed to be ok and ship out and and and ... nope. I guess not mine.

message says I can either get a not-mine but decent and upgraded heater unit (hope at least ti?) OR a discount (85) on instant on unit. They also said it would be nice if I threw some $$ on the replacement. Oy. So Ive no clue now.
Sad.

Oy is right. That is not cool asking for more of your money for a replacement. I like the IO trade-up option which I inquired about above wondering if this is now a standard offer to those losing whole units in the fire, but still unsure this was announced at all by HL or just privately to individuals. I know they’re still strapped for cash but that’s low-brow still.

Depending on your situation it’s an interesting choice, not including throwing short money on a more immediate replacement or a slightly longer wait for the IO (and paying the difference). If you have other options currently, the wait might be a nice reward in the IO otherwise a working Hopper in hand sooner is pretty hard to beat. So it’s patience versus forgiveness (of HL, sorta) versus discretionary funds to consider - at least from my point of view. My yearlong RMA had me pondering the same trade offs and I’m sorry folks lost stuff in the fire, so it’s a slightly different situation (yet I’ve had very few vapes including present day).

Just took a couple of draws on my repaired pre order Ti and the thing just rocks. Good luck with your decision! :peace:

I have others. Not in dire straights to be sure, but I sure miss the ease of the Hopper. Portable-wise, I have some that perform as well, but not lo pro (splinters, mis, firefly). Lo pro wise, nothing on demand (IQ, pax3)

the hopper is pretty singularly both.

I was okay with the check box at checkout that allows folks to make a fire donation.

My Nov '18 replacement body is now in the mail to me and along with it I've been able to purchase a battery. Thank you, @Hopper Labs, for the personal touch.
I am really psyched to have a new body coming. Interesting, I was not offered a 'rebuilt' or replacement made from 'not necessarily new' parts; sounds like a new one is coming (and then I send the faulty one back). I'm thinking they make the call depending on age of the failed unit and how much would need replacing(?)

My small way of trying to help out is by purchasing accessories I don't need, like another leather sleeve, a glass vial, condoms; stuff they have good margins on that bring them some amounts of needed cash. And I paid the shipping, including the warranty piece...

I already bought batteries and rubber that I didn’t need. In fact. The delay in shipping of my fixed hopper was due to the last minute ask that I buy a little something.
Otherwise it’d have cleared the fire.

And I can handle A donation checkbox, but I dont like a “yknow, it sure would be nice” request that includes a “90 day” resolution.

I agree with the above sentiments: asking for a donation is one thing but using that as leverage to expedite something isn’t cool. I know HL is still hurting financially and it’s nice some are buying unnecessary accessories to help them out. I’ve been reluctant however I might need a new native frontend for my Ti however they only have SS frontends on the site when I looked a week ago. With the IO they’ve made some changes to the frontend screen threading which I’m likely suffering from now since I’ve been using my Hopper daily and almost exclusively above my few other vape options. Batteries I have enough of and waiting for post-fire replacements - and I’m using a few of the ones they told us to discard (no issues with them before the fire). HL just needs to be more tactful in how they ask. But dang, my repaired Hopper works all too well so I applaud HL for their efforts and perseverance.:peace:

Not required, but more like “it sure wouldn’t hurt”.

On the surface I guess it seems like why wouldn't they just do it for nothing but they're basically saying you have a fully functional and repaired device available and that for a small fee it can be upgraded even further. Installing those upgrades would cost money and so they are giving you the option of whether or not you want to do that. I don't see the problem with this.

Just decline the offer to install the nitrous boost on your car that the mechanic offered if you don't want it. Or dont. They could have just sent it back to you and not even given the option. I would appreciate having the choice.
