Ghost MV 1 vs Splinter/Splinter Z

Why not give us the full comparison in the Splinter Z thread, at your leisure of course. :)
. In addition to dealing with a bad head and chest cold forcing an unplanned T-break, my New Zv1 developed a crack in the wood, awaiting Vgoodiez return from vacation. I think I see light at the end of the t-break, so I will move on with the camprison when able. Apologies for the hold up guys.

The Splinter Z must be cool, the only thing that does not convince me is the price. 180 is too much if we consider that it is an attachment and not a complete vaporizer. If we then add another 40 of the cooling mouthpiece, it almost reaches the price of the Ghost.

I do not own a Ghost, any other vapes you would like it compared with? 420 sales coming around the corner.

I am completely with you, and there is not much tech in a Splinter. That said, it doesn t really matter to me - i got an original us made Splinter to europe and while the price was high, i use it daily and it is nearly all i wanted the Grashopper to be AND it took also nearly all use away from my Mighty.

But @RastaBuddhaTao should really include some sort of cooling Mouthpiece in the standard package - only with this it is a complete and useable Vape IMHO.

Just my :2c:

I went with the V2 not sure if the Z is that much different, but I dont think the cooling stem is necessary at all. Maybe it is because im mainly a dabber so im used to high temp vapor but I get nothing but cool smooth vapor using the stock stems. i actually wouldnt even want a cooling stem unless it was the jr or mini one

I know nothing about the ghost but I have the z, v2, and original splinter. The v2 is comparable to the z although different and is about $130. You don't need to buy the cooler- I never use mine. So if money is an issue the v2 is a great vape.

First, you can get a Splinter Z V1 at @VGOODIEZ for $159. This item may even go sale during the 4/20 sales. Second, you don't need a cooling mouthpiece, although it enhances the experience. But, the short cooling stem can be yours for $17. The cooling stem is not only usable with the Splinter, but it can also be used in any vape with the proper diameter (RBT products, Lil bud products, LaMart (TUBO) products, iheat, etc, etc).

Third comment: Many of the FC folks already have mods. For those without mods, they are available for under $25. Lots of us believe that the better mods produce better experiences, but there are folks here with great results from inexpensive mods.

Many many of us were familiar with and already possess 18650 batteries from the Milaana, Arizer Air and Argo, Lamart/TUBO, the Lil Bud, DaVinci IQ, etc and non-vaporizer uses, as

The parts necessary to run a Splinter Z V1 (mod and batteries) are not unique in the market. They are usable for a whole long list of 510 devices. I am unaware of any parts of a Ghost MV1 that are usable for any other vape (other than the USB cable).

I am of the opinion that someone who wants to visit their friend or family for the weekend or longer will need to carry much less "equipment" with a Splinter Z than aGhost MV1.

I jockey between the Ghost & Z. Wouldn't want to live w/o either. But if I could only have one, it would be the ghost; one reason being portability & stealthiness for outside use.

Damn it now, make your decision or buy both.

What makes me lean towards the Splinter is:
- in case of replacement, the box mod batteries are more quickly available
- it is easier to use than the Ghost
- it's cheaper

But I have to think about it ...:D

Cheaper, yes. The Ghost is just as easy to use. After using both a few times, it becomes rote. Per Vape Critic, he gets 90 hits per charge. Get a second battery or fast charger & you are good to go. Besides, there's a 5 year warranty on the Ghost that you have to weigh in.

i own a ghost & a splinter Z V2 w XL8R , in my opinion the Splinter Z is superior, The Z has a greater range, you can sip it or crank it, it seems to be more versatile tho downside is you have to learn box mod settings, but my ghost sits on a shelf now , the splinter Z is now my daily driver

Now that I have two Splinters, I must admit the Ghost doesn't see a lot of action. The Splinters are just too easy to load.

Yeah, the MV1 always seemed too high maintenance to me and the litany of design flaws and failures have only reinforced that first impression.

Are you watching the Tinymight thread? I've got a mess of Splinters in rotation for home use and I'm gonna pick up one of those for a more portable option since on demand convection is my preference.

I'm definitely watching the Tinymight thread I'm just wary of small companies and I hate waitlists. On-demand convection is the majority of my vaping and definitely my preference as well.

I had both I kept my ghost because of portability aspect. the splinter and splinter z is a little big with mod and glass mouth piece very tall, not something to carry in the street, more of a home vape, but I have to admit the splinter out performs the ghost when it comes to sheer power, the splinter and splinter z are like mini desktops to me, lots of power! but I do like my ghost, nice cool vapor, great flavor. splinter have great flavor also but vapor is warmer with short stems, much better with long stems.
