Nomad Cooling Stems

Hi all, its been a little while since I've gotten my nipped stem and I do prefer this over my DIY beaded stem. It's easier to clean and maintain and does the job really well. I will be getting more soon myself. Thanks again Dave for the quick turnaround on the new stems!

Congrats, it looks great! I picked up 2 of those stems on 4/20 too, and now I just need my Nomad to put them in! :)

It’s going to be worth the wait though...hopefully getting more sketches soon. :love:

I did notice though, I think the first version of these stems had more dimples. Does this version still cool the vapor pretty well?

If anyone has both versions, is there much difference?

I could also be misremembering since I don’t have pics of the older ones in front of me right now...

Technically there was only one version sold. I had a beta unit and it did have more nipples. The stem that is sold now (which I have) is made for both the Nomad I and Nomad II and it does not have nipples in the area where the orings inside the collar are. This said, I believe that you can have the entire stem nippled and it would still grip well.

I have asked Dave to see if he can have one made like that instead. If that fits the Nomad I without issue, it will also fit the Nomad II.

I'll be back to update when I have more to report back.

If this one gets the job done we don’t necessarily need more, but there aren’t many of us who can compare, and I can’t even try mine yet! :lol: :cry:

If the extra-nippled ones are better and he orders more like them I’ll pick up a couple more at some point. :)

Also, if/when I do should I still pick up one of the beaded stems, or are the nippled ones clearly better in some way?

I did have both and imo, it did cool slightly better simple due to the increased surface area that the additional spikes created. This said, the current versions certainly work and it's the one that Dan enjoys using (see his comment in Nomad thread).

The beaded stems actually work quite well. Its a different experience due to narrower opening of the mouthpiece which creates more restriction. I think for the price of the stems, they are worth exploring.
