I actually downgraded from the spherical glass wand to the conical so that I could take advantage of the smaller DDave mod stem and basketscreen set-up. He includes small beeswax chips to put on connections and avoid getting stuck, I’ve never had an issue. Worked much better for me that way, in terms of vapor production and using way less flower. Now I have some more glass beads en route. The shipper lost half my balls due to a leaky bag, but I must say, the 100 or so glass balls half fill my heater, and I can already sense new wave of vapor goodness on the horizon
Would you please report back on if the glass beads end up fusing to the ceramic heater? That would be a deal breaker on the beads for me.

Anyone use the new version of the Saturn tamer?

Meh. I have that DDave kit that I bought for me DBV. I have absolutely no interest in using something like that with my SSV though. If I want a smaller bowl then I have other great vapes for that, like one of my logs.

Yes I spoke with Kevin@ 7th floor and they are removable to clean so I assume they get pretty sticky and gummy... That may be a good thing!
How do you remove them? My understanding from the video 7th floor has is that they blow a hole in the center after the ends are sealed, fill up with beads, then seal the hole? Maybe I'm missing something.

Doesn't the "goo" from vaping get trapped by all those beads?
Goo is where it is at and has what we crave.
No goo. If you look at the device, the glass beads are in the heater, and herb stays in the wand. This means the vapor is only traveling from your herb down through your wand and mouthpiece or glass rig, no vapor is going back down through the beads via heater. My heater has always looked new since I bought it, no cleaning needed. Or maybe you were referring to the Saturn vapor tamer? In that case, I have no idea.
I received my other order of glass beads, and put them in my heater last night. It takes about 300 to fill to the top of heater and the then they are easily secured with a basket screen. Wow! This works fantastic, a big thanks for Troy and Bud for having such a great idea. I’m getting one big extraction on the first hit, way denser vapor than just the DDave mod alone. I checked my setting to be between 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up. No ball fusion with heating rod happening at this temp from what I could tell. With this much increased proficiency, I’m going to try with the spherical heater, even though I suspect the DDave mod keeps everything even more concentrated through the narrower herb chamber. One thing to mention, is that the Super has the air path coming up through the bottom of the unit, so there definitely is a bigger draw restriction, kind of like sucking a thick shake through a bubble straw. But I imagine that this creates even more heat calories than the SSV. I need to play with it more, and try and utilize the fan assist, I was too baked last night after two baskets to continue research however.....

which glass beads did you get and how did you plug the input hole so that the beads wouldn't escape from the heater cover?

Man, I had such a fun night wrangling my balls between the different heater covers, and surprisingly settled back into the spherical glass connection. It isn’t quite as focused and powerful, but it just feels oh so right, plus the heater holds maybe a quarter less beads than the conical glass with way less air restriction. I dangled a basket screen on the heater tonsil like a top hat to hold back the balls, nothing slid through as of yet. Had a bunch of sticky balls, a couple of clingers were affixed to the ceramic shaft, but fortunately they dropped right off after cooling. I’ve kept everything under half temp, using glass balls Troy linked on his clip, which are 4mm and stay out of air intake

Apparently a Healthstone vapor stone can be used with the SSV wand. I can't find the dimensions of this stone. Anyone know which style of wand works or have any experience with this setup.

They sell their own kind called "flavor disc" and have various sizes to fit possibly only ground glass wand combos.
https://www.elev8glassgallery.com/ceramic-flavor-disc-for-concentrates/
It works really nice with the temperature high through water!
You can torch glow them to clean they did a video on this.

They have many great videos now, saw one with that new all glass path it looks sweet, they also have a glass abv jar that seals and connects direct to spherical g/glass where you blow your abv into, holy shit!
(Shows the wand at around 8m 30s, but the entire vid is worth watching)

Thanks blackstone. The Elev8 disc is cheaper than the Healthstone and the international shipping price is decent.

I have the Standard SSV setup and am not interested in buying another. (Or I would have DDave modded mine ages ago). I see from the 7th floor site that the Standard is 1mm wider than the GG at the screen (15.8mm screens vs 14.8mm screens). So, I'm hoping I can Jerry-rig the flavor disc into my wand and use ABV to fill/seal the 1mm gap. I'll order a couple and find out.

I'm still tempted to buy a deeply discounted healthstone glass pipe for $40 (and a jet lighter) as it may work better (obv. more portable) for my ... um ... specific purpose. :ko:

If all else fails, there's stuffing steel wool into my wand.

I didn't see anything either. Maybe @DDave could chime in on the specifics of what people are talking about for their SSVs and DBV.

I'm debating to get a ssv after just buying the da buddah.

When people have bought the the cosmetically "damaged" ones... What was the color like? There's a lot more color variation to the ssv and I don't really want one that I don't think looks cool.

Will I be risking getting bright pink ssv with unicorns?

I really want to play with the spherical flavor wands.

The super surfer is enticing as well.

Edit: I found spare parts for my own mods.

The 7th floor site sells glass flavor disc pipes as low as $23 if you wanna check them out!
There's some cool ones for a little more money too, 40 or 50. Search "flavor disc" on there, or also with the word "pipe".
Screen mesh material can work as a spacer in some cases, if you use steel wool make sure it's stainless like from a liquid pad from another vape.
A larger disc might be able to be sanded or otherwise to make it fit but you should maybe spend time removing particles before use.
I didn't use cotton in this one because of the vapes power and potential to char non concentrates if you're not careful.
But the sky is the limit with no plant fibers in there at all!

Maybe you could try glass or quartz balls or terp pearls etc. (Or a ss pad.)
Soon I might have some spare cheap media like this and I could try to send you some or something, hate to see it wasted.
Or i can let you know more about what it is and the source.

If it helps you at all I use the 11.67mm flavor disc, and the 15.8mm screens (dished) in my regular spherical ground glass wand.
But it's all about the different tapers formed inside in the glass wands, as my flavor disc seats way before the ridge for the screen.
This company knows all about combos and trying things out, so I do wonder why they don't say it works in your style wand.
Maybe it's because of the "controlled pinpointed heat delivery" of that set up.

Hmmm. I own that mod, and I am not seeing them on DDave's site anymore.

I guess they're no longer available.

Wow, it does appear that way. So I will never be lucky enough to try it? I was too slow!
There is the concentration chamber only, listed as available in his accessories section.
That's the all glass small dosing setup.
I didn't check the full "scope of delivery" yet.

If you would have preferred the SSV maybe give them a call, as they have a program where any old DBV will get you 100 off a surfer. So maybe they could do even better in your case? But maybe you wanted both vapes!
Not sure if there's anything you could do about color of seconds maybe ask them?
But the base can be changed easily.
I think someone got a second somes pages back if you wanna read the experience, can't remember the color.

I really like my (smaller) spherical setup with 15.8mm screens, but I think they switched to mainly selling a bigger spherical setup now with a 20.8mm screen (some parts of the site say 17mm screen but this could be a mistake),
so bear in mind there were even 2 sizes of spherical bowl. Maybe the smaller is discontinued, but these guys "do glass"!
So maybe ask?

Greetings @nonamekevin & all!

The kit being remembered is an SSV & DBV kit that used to be offered. It was discontinued almost 8 months ago, if memory serves.

There is a possibility of a new kit, with updated pieces, that could be released this month if prototype pieces being created perform as expected.
Will ensure to circle back here and announce once available.

Thanks
Dave

Dave warm hello mate. I've actually just remembered again that I need to get a load of those that Vapcap Ti screens from you, they are ok in the vapcap where performance is so much better with better air flow but when used in the Woodsents they do pick up resin blockage much faster and need more frequent cleaning.

But I want an absolute load ideally to keep me going and indefinitely.

I have an SSV enroute. Never tried it before but I'm excited at the prospect of a new excellent vape and if all goes well with my strange intolerances I imagine I would really be interested in one of your kits so I hope you can offer them again.

In the meanwhile take good my friend and keep up the fantastic work for everybody.

You can definitely find the parts for the kit online and get them yourself. It was just a 14mm conical ground glass wand (basically the same as the 18mm conical ground glass wand that comes with the DBV, but 14MM size), and a rimmed backet screen that fits the end of the 14mm wand, and a low-profile 18mm/14mm adapter to insert the 14mm wand into the 18mm connection in your DBV (or SSV with conical glass heater cover) . You can also add an 18mm keck clip if you want the adapter to stay attached to the wand.
