Just another "Person Of Interest"
I’ve mailed some out to a few other FCers, and postage was under $5.

Heh heh. I was one of those lucky ones. *MUA!*

AND I have A Robusto, so In the interest of science, (also a nice excuse to vape a capful )
I'll pop some in there, later, today, and report back my personal findings.

Happy Vaping! :leaf:

Thanks.

I really like the Robusto, which is kind of like a cigar experience unless you were rolling some major doobage in the past.

While it may very well function, doesn't it kinda defeat the purpose of the VapCap?
If one wants to do this I would think that something like the Daisy or the SB makes much more sense. Personally I'm not really a fan of breathing butane exhaust but I recognize (by the sales of SB) that that may be just me...

Vapes R Great
Anybody notice a difference in the newer tip o-rings?

I broke one within a month on a new Ti Tip. thry don’t take to Iso like the old ones maybe?
I always leave my rings on when cleaning so that could be why. But my old vapcaps the rings have lasted a couple years on most with regular quick iso cleans.

also anybody have a source for bulk o rings?
Need to pick up some replacements and it’s costly buying the single packs from Dynavap

While I don't know for sure, I think George would have announced that; they used to be black in the very beginning and have been switched to grey at some point (~2 years ago I think) because only then they would not only be heat resistant, but also resistant against solvents like iso (even though they still don't recommend using iso, but rather for safety reasons, not because it would wear out the o rings).

But again: not sure myself, my DVs are not new and still wear the o rings they came with.

Hey! 2020 likes in 2020!

Thanks, FC,
for all that charity!

Almost have some actual free time, soon, so I'll try out the glass beads in the Robusto, shortly, honest!

Can't thank these 3 enough for their input. @davesmith @Padriano and of course @funkyjunky's balls.:)

@cybrguy in a similar way that a battery is now being used by a lot of people to power their 'battery free' VC?

A few people have mentioned wanting more convection so I had a think and we explored the idea.

As for the breathing in spent butane I'm not a fan either.
To be fair I'm not a fan of any convected vapor and this has slowed up progress and release of the VCCA and other ideas.

I'm happy to cater to those who do enjoy this kind of thing and perhaps some of those who don't venture into the market for fear of combustion.
The glass balls act as a great buffer.

Don't get me wrong, I think the implementation is brilliant, especially with the beads. It's just the concept that isn't my cup of tea. IHs still use the cap as the heater, it's just the heat SOURCE that is different, like using a candle or a campfire.

The exception, at least the way I see it, is the Woodsense which CAN be used with a capless VC combining the beloved log vapes with the also beloved VapCap. I haven't used one but it looks very cool.

I don't want to give the impression that I am a purist who believes everything must be used as it was originally intended, I'm definately not. It's just the butane exhaust that I really don't care for.

The reasons it's not on the market yet is summed up in your last sentence. Not got the same passion in it for me.

I didn't think WS. Same departure from George's original idea.

If I enjoyed convection vapes a couple of other ideas would have been explored by now.
Just using the VC as a bowl set on the smallest size for one or two tasty hits.

Maybe one day.

Sooo...

I set up my robusto stem with the glass beads inserted, HOWEVER, to actually make this function as intended, one would need to curl some wire or perhaps even place a crumpled up screen in the mouthpiece end of the stem or something similar to keep the glass bead from sealing to the hole of the mouthpiece.

Not really feeling doing that with my robusto stem at the moment because I have no pipe cleaners or feasible way to push that back out.

If I can get to the store tomorrow and get some pipe cleaners I will still possibly test this out but LIKELY by then, someone ELSE would have already tested this and posted back on here.

Ah yes.. I see that blocking the mouthpiece, as well as the tip are both issues.

 String tried to warn you....

A shot of air from a football pump, after wetting? A bamboo skewer....:goon: A dowel.

A metal screen should work (later).

Ordered a dynacoil today.
Thanks for reminding me. I bought one when they first came out but haven't used it yet as I NEVER see concentrates.

My world got rocked Wednesday, tho, when my state went legal rec. I haven't been inside a store yet (lines too long) but Y'all can make a recommendation on the best concentrates to try on the Dynacoil and help me bust my cherry.

She mentioned putting a bent screen in the tip but not the mouthpiece.

That's where I'm having an issue. Because of the force of the draw, even with the carb wide open, there's no way to avoid the glass beads all being drawn into the mouthpiece opening short of using another screen or something similar to block that as well.

I was afraid of that before I even put the beads in but I was hoping for the best anyway.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ LOL

You deserve an upgrade @Gigsabits53  Maybe an XL upgrade with a mouthpiece this time :dog:
I did that already;)

Interesting, a neighboring state to me went legal on wednesday. Im guessing its the same one. I plan on making several trips back and forth. Exactly why I ordered the dynacoil.

To circumvent the issue, I ended up using a slightly larger bead on both ends of my stem (non-Robusto). Screens on both ends is also possible. G/L !
