Not sure what name you would call it, or if you even consider this a vape. Here's what I've done.

This hit was okay. Not the best hit I've taken from it, not combustion either. I've been filling the ELB to 1/2 to 5/8 full, as loose as possible. When I tried a full ELB, I got a good amount of char having to stir, or I'd combust. No charring since going loose fill, but now I'm hesitant to push it for fear of combustion. Almost think if I can figure out a way to put some glass beads in the 18mm female end, it will help spread the heat out more evenly, as well as slowing down the heatup.

Anyway, I'm proper baked right now after several ELBs.

Yeah man, pretty cool. I´ve done something similar with another random piece of glass that has a vertical intake instead of horizontal. It seems to hit about the same. I want to put some glass beads in mine, too. Mitigate some of the heat spikes.

Nice stuff, DIY vapes are awesome because they really shed light that vaporizing isn't really that complicated.

Funny I just doodled a vape design extremely similar to this just a day or two ago using a similar 90 degree adapter, but with a simple modification to make it theoretically easier to use. I might post up some of my designs soon and see what people think.
