Volcano Hybrid

I’ve had the Hybrid for about a week. My first S&B product. I need to find the temps I like best but so far so great. Very happy with it.

Edit: decided to add a bit more. Bought during @PuffItUp Black Friday sale, which started a little early. So I knew I was purchasing from a trusted source. Got it perfectly. I’m a very experienced vape user: I’ve tried a ton but the ones I own are E-nano, Ghost MV-1, and technically a MFLB and Grasshopper though neither has been used in forever (and a Peak & Connect but that’s a different category). Lately I’ve been combusting more, mostly in joint form, as a change in living conditions allowed me to and I never really had indulged in that way before and was getting some high quality designer shit that I thought was meant to be smoked. But winter has fallen, and I cannot stink up my place. I’m still buying some designer bud so I decided it needed an equal vape. Also I have baby lungs and a very easily irritated throat.

I’ve been using it at 350, 356, 360 mostly with some forays into the 400’s though I worry about the bad stuff that starts boiling off when you get into the 400’s. Both with bag and whip I’ve been very happy. I just placed an order for a @Magma_Industries Obsidian last night and I think that’ll be a nice addition.

So far it’s really living up to its reputation as this badass sports car of the vape world.

I don’t have a single Android device and unfortunately I bought the Hybrid after Apple’s poor decision to ban any app related to vaping. I bought a Kindle Fire that was super cheap onsale and installed the Google Play Store to get the S&B app. The Iterations & Workspaces crash the app but that’s not S&B’s fault, it isn’t built to run on that device.

I was suprised by the peppery feeling in my throat on the first bag 380f. I'm thinking since my unit is brand new the heater is running super hot, I'm hoping it will settle down some with time, its extremely efficient, she extracts like crazy. I'm gonna try my next session using the app and start at a much lower temperature and end at a higher temperature to see if it makes a difference.

How are you guys storing your hybrids? I would like to see pics. I was looking at some bowling ball bags, they look cool, offer good protection and the right size but not really sure.

I just have to say that I don't think that is a logical or rational expectation.

It's not like a new pair of shoes or a tight fitting lid which will naturally loosen and stretch.

The hybrid heating elements should perform identically on day one at the same temperature setting as it should on day 100 regardless of usage and if this is not the case then there would have to be some technical fault occur along the way.

446, 400, 380° should all be exact, precise and consistent heat output. Today, and in a year's time of regular use if the unit holds up and doesn't malfunction in any way.

If you feel it is too hot, you need a lower temp setting surely?

Yep mine too, built a little table for beside my recliner in the living room. I call it my Command Console lol, phone, laptop, remotes, Volcano, Firefly 2, grinders, ABV container, 4 different strains in mason jars and all my parts, and cleaning gear in the same area. I like to have things at hand and ready, Navy training lol.

yeah, i have a "vape table" too, exclusively for vaporizers, glass water pieces and a box storing the material in little glass jars and tools to clean and stuff. really like my dedicated "vape space" :-)

A bowling ball bag sounds awesome for storing and travel. How cool would that be?

the vapor is definitely a bit harsher than from other devices but thats because it extracts the maximum amount of chemicals out of the material. imo the Hybrid is the most effective vaporizer when it comes to raw effects.

just play around with different temperatures, try the whip (which is my personal favorite method of using the Hybrid) or have some water ready to drink while vaping. maybe the "peppery feeling" is just because the device is new to you, it could also settle on its own after a few days. i remember i was feeling the same with the Plenty a few years ago, after a few days of use all was good. you could also run the bags through a water pipe or attach the whip to a water pipe as an option.

but the heating will stay the same on your Hybrid, it doesn´t (and it shouldn´t!) settle down with time. it has added conduction heating which surely can result in a bit harsher vapor than say from an Extreme Q for example.

the reason why I mention the settling down is because from experience a lot of devices do show some slight changes from new unitl they break in, for example when you have a brand new car or bicycle, or with electronics like projectors, tv, and headphones. once broken in cars bikes run smoother, with tvs and projectors picture becomes nicer smoother over use, even brand new headphones sound signature they sound changes after a good burn in period. I had head phones that sounded horrible out the box but later they sing.

I have always felt the cano was dryer than other vapes because of the bags.
I had OG for 18yrs & always ran it thru water after bags.
This is so much easier & quicker & more powerful!
A 14mm adapter will get the bag a good seal in any bong.
I like the hand held one for my recliner, PWT or any small hydratube.
Take off cheap ass mouthpiece on whip & it fits perfect.
I was going to post pics & vids of also reversing this flow to fill up
bags like the one sold only free if you have WT.

Those are good @tennisguru1 looks like a good option for the volcano bags and other devices. I might have to get one.

For those who have used magma industries devices which did you have a what's the experience? Does the basic magma model really cool the vapor? Is the obsidian really worth the price?

Gonna order one not sure which model yet, I wanted to say that magma industries answered a few questions for me via PM and hooked me up with a nice pre Christmas discount code V1P5 which I thought was pretty cool and want to share. This looks like a must for volcano hybrid.

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Though Owning a classic, and Digit , I wondered if this was necessary, or even an upgrade. After one session that question was answered. 100% necessary and yes, it's an upgrade. I ran two oz though my digit just prior to getting the hybrid. Using the hybrid with that same strain, I felt the high faster then any Volcano before, within 4 draws from the bag. By the end I was floating. This was shared with my wife. We've got quite the tolerance as well. Everything about this is better, I'm happy I made the choice to get the Hybrid, I love it. You will too.

I have an insane tolerance. Combust at least once a week (some bud is just made for it), if I’m not working I’ll do dab after dab on my peak or enail, and I’ve used some of the finest vaporizers around. A couple draws from this thing and wow. It really extracts everything.

Def not for beginners but also a beginner would have no issue learning it in a minute. Cleanup and just time from “put away” to vapor is really short. Plug it in, grind some bud, and you’re away. After put the abv in a container or toss it, unplug Volcano, go about day (high as fuck).

yeah, the Hybrid hits like a truck. the best thing about it, i am using it since August and there is no dropoff in effects like with other vaporizers, this thing always hits for maximum effect.

After some time of using the hybrid and playing around with it, I have to say I dont want to go back to smoking regularly anymore.

At first, it was hard on my throat and I was making the bags way too potent.
But given some time to adjust and find a way, it's simply the best :)

I felt like sharing this maybe it can convince a smoker to also take the dive and continue on vaping

Here is mine :-)
I recommend the reducer chamber. A beast !
I din't like the reducer chamber in Volcano Classic, because the vape was "poor".
With induction added in Hybrid : the vapor coming from reducing chamber is delicious (temp : 177 - 185 - 192 °C) perfect. Even more than normal chamber... Here is my experience:).
Enjoy your Hybrid:tup:!

Any tips to do a super bag with dosing capsule? I didn't get my reducer for hybrid yet, but I did use reducers with classic, plenty and mighty, love dosing caps. Doing a super big with such a small amount would be awesome if it works, super efficiency!!!
