Discontinued Ghost MV1

I just got mine on Monday, and so far, I am VERY pleased. Hoping that the battery issue is addressed, sounds like they’re going to have to find a whole new supplier.
And that may be why they are discounting like that to cash in faster to be able to get funds to solve the battery supplier problem...who knows? Also, such rate of units returns and back to clients pays a real heavy toll on any company...so is only normal they may need to discountinue the problematic design....

I paid a premium because I wanted the ability to send it back. Since the release of the MV1 I have considered ia pruchase but backed off due to the price and the other downsides bossman and others mention. I would not be overly concerned with the disappearance of parts, as it is highly likely that there is a new model on the immediate horizon and an upgrade path as well. To wit, Ghost Vapes offers a generous 'allowance' for any other vape, working or not, in a direct purchase. I do not know if that applies to the "fire sale" - unlikely.

My bottom line is this: If you can't gamble $175 don't. I did this when HAZE PRO 2 went belly up and I have not looked back. Portable vaporizers are disposable consumer goods, friends. Expect to buy another every year. Expect the name brands to be ridiculously priced. And learn how to be an afficianado of the Dynavap. There's a technology that you can get into for under $70.

Silence does not necessarily mean catastrophe. It means secrecy. I hope we will all be pleasantly surprised with an MV2 and an upgrade offer on Santa's sled.

Finally purchased after the price drop. Works well so far, but curious if it's possible and how to go about microdosing. I'm use to using small amounts (.03 and less) in a vapcap and want to know if the MV1 can do likewise?

I just received my new MV1 after my 2 year old one failed absolutely. And I am worried about the company surviving especially in this negative vape era. My only reason for worrying is the Customer Support was way too nice and would have gone out of its way to make me super happy if I had asked them to do so. So not only is this vape my fave by far the CS is beyond reasonable and that is what worries me. I got my replacement vape today and I am testing it.

Try throwing the liquid pad in the crucible and then loading it. It will shrink the size to about 0.05-0.06. I've only done it once (I enjoy doing up 6 or 7 crucibles with the dispenser - only have one pad), and it worked flawlessly.

cover the crucible bottom with bud so you are getting all vapor. The pad will keep it spread out so it doesn't do get bunched up on one side and then getting half vapor half hot air

Many use the pad to decrease the size of the crucible. I have tried it. Not my favorite as my pads seem
to stick in the crucible and it turns the vape into a slightly conductive one. I have had better luck filling it
to a third packing down a bit and then the inhale that worked seemed to be quite slow. You can also take a draw and then put it down for later. If you do that I would suggest an inhale or two without power with the stem right down to get the last bit of vapor and cool down the crucible.

I decided to get another MV1 for the discounted price. I have 3 already, but I love this vape and the price is right. I don't want to be without one, that's how I feel about it.

On top of that, in the current "vaping scare" environment, all manufacturers of vaporizers are going to experience lower sales. Most folks don't know the difference between a cartridge vaporizer and a dry herb vaporizer, and people are scared of vaporizers right now because of the news and uncertainty. Even Apple (the company) banned the Ghost app, just because it's for a "vaporizer," never mind that it's a completely different sort of device than the ones that are in the news.

It's a bad time to be a vaporizer company, so I want to support Ghost. I want them to succeed and continue to supply great devices like the MV1.

That's a sound reason to buy any vaporizer, and thanks to FC--you did so with full knowledge of potential issues in the future. I think that's great and the entire point of this forum.

Ghost should know that guys like me wont buy without transparency, however. Letting us know if a new model is coming out, or not, is a retarded secret to keep.

Question for the Ghost followers here. I've had my MV1 for about 11 months and last night the receptacle inside the battery where you place the charging plug fell out. It's rattling inside the battery. It's still under warranty, so I submitted a ticket and I expect that Ghost will honor it. My question is on the MV1 and it's potential successor. At the reduced price of $175 it's tempting to get another, but I would hate to spend the money and have a new model released in the next few months. When one is released I will definitely get one, and having three would be overkill.

Thoughts?

This happened to my friend two months into his purchase. Ghost made it right by replacing it with a new battery AND the free charger on top. Your battery with the broken microUSB port can still be charged using the fast charger. This was about a year ago when this happened.

EXACTLY right. Ghost omitting whether they have a MV2 in works is ridiculous. Safe bet is to assume the company is having troubles and not making an MV2 until they say otherwise.

While I initially resisted the idea of reading too much into their initial price decreases...just try to not speculate in the absence of verifiable facts....this cut to $125 has sort of undermined that position of mine.

$125 WITH a crucible dispenser.

I don't know what is going on, but this does not seem to be just holiday pricing. I mean, even the Fury 2 was something like $140???

I now do suspect this type of pricing to be foreshadowing of some sort of action....but I just don't know what.

Pretty sure this deal only works for people that have already bought one. Pretty good way to get current owners to buy another .

IT WORKED FOR ME AND I DIDN'T LOG IN so I don't think you have to be a current owner. It started at $175 and after I put RESPECTTHEFLOWER (all caps) in the coupon code the price changed to $125.
EDIT: Maybe CarbonFiberGuy wasn't trying to say that you had to be a "registered" current owner to get the deal and I just took the post too literally which is very much like me. Maybe he was trying to say that with the current unknowns maybe the deal would mostly appeal to current owners. I apologize if I took things too literally.

If Ghost really wanted to hide what might be going on with these price drops without causing concern they could have just called it an early Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal and nobody would have questioned it....but instead the only holiday they leaned into was Thanksgiving with the $125 coupon. Who knows, maybe they'll tap into Black Friday/Cyber Monday later on.......

So I feel like there is definitely something going on here and they aren't being up-front about it but they seem to be steering clear of outright BS and should get a couple points for that.
