Apple bans all vaping apps from the App Store

Woah! New Crafty+ iphone customers are screwed!
Why would you think Google isn't going to do the same thing?

First, I'm not ever buying a vape that requires an app again. I came to this conclusion before this, but, this just reinforces the fact I will always "vote" (with my money) on a vape that I can control myself.

Second, can't you add in apps outside of the Apple store? It's a pain, but...

Its so crazy how this "vaping crisis" has been fabricated to scare people with a relatively tiny amount of reported incidents. According to the World Health Organization tobacco kills 7 million people a year...

It's statistically more dangerous to pull over for law enforcement than to use an e-cig...

I feel super reassured that Apple is trying their hardest to keep the App Store safe; Im sure the app I use to change the temperature on my Pax Era is far worse than the crack cocaine games all the kids are addicted to.

Nothing like getting a brand new vape and not being able to change the temperature! Crafty, Carta, Pax, that fancy new Volcano Hybrid workflow mode... :uhoh:

FWIW on both an apple id I've never dl is before and also on my gf Android device that has never had it, the Kube One app "August Haus" is still available.

edit: The threads about this on the Mac fan sites are hill air ee ooze (yes i can spell hilarious)

Kinda makes you think there is a bit of an agenda here eh!? :brow:

How many are dying daily from opioids and alcohol? And what, a handful of people have been killed from Vitamin E Acetate additive?

I been thinking this since the beginning of the whole shenanigans... Be interesting to see if Google follow suite, or if this is an attempt, by apple to try to gain some sort of morale high ground (we care about our end users safety and so we've banned X apps... Blah blah)

Apple is just clearing the fields of serious competitors before introducing their own vaporiser.
They have already patented it!

:D

Sorry, I am just building conspiracy theories and couldn't help myself.
But then in shows how unstable the whole legalisation still is, imo.

click patent in the article for the actual patent.

Stating the obvious, but there isn’t a vaping crisis, someone introduced unsafe chemicals into a small percentage of vape cartridges.
When meat with bacteria is found in the market, it isn’t a meat eating crisis and they don’t ban cows and all meat.
Not suggesting, but I, like @biohacker wouldn’t be surprised to find an agenda behind this.
Tim Cook is a bean counter, I have to wonder what Steve Jobs’ take on this would have been.

Just a dude
We seriously need another word besides vaping for herbal vaporizing sheesh
Been thinking and saying this for a while now, even “dry herb vaporizing” has the V-word in it. I don’t know what the solution is but it really does seem like a greater distinction should be made to distance our hobby from that drama. I’m still surprised more doctors don’t know about cannabis vaporization and only consider smoking and edibles. And now to them, vaporizing means THC oil carts. *sigh*

Even after the vitamin E acetate discovery, I still saw articles in mainstream media (both “sides”) still linking THC to vitamin E and saying it’s not confirmed that THC doesn’t have a role. Lots of people who still don’t like cannabis and they fucken hate that people can say it doesn’t kill you. So now WEED can KILL!

Also, kinda surprised that Apple took this stand instead of realising what @Adobewan said. This non-epidemic “crisis” has nothing to do with the devices and the apps in their store. Totally knee jerk nonsense.

EDIT: coherence

You can still install IPA’s (iOS) and APK’s (Android) directly on an iPhone and Android. S&B just needs to get an Apple Enterprise license to build and distribute it, and they don’t need anything for the Android one beyond a basic code signing certificate. (I build iOS and Android apps often and distribute them to whomever I need)

I like using MS AppCentre for smaller distribution channels and testing ... but you can just make them downloadable from a site to install too.

An age of nuance this is not. CDC's telebriefing confused coworkers because is was reported so poorly.

For concentrate, of course, there's dabbing. For flower, how about "toasting"? It sounds so festive. People who toast would be toasters who get toasted.

Toasting isn't bad. Roasting? Sublimating? lol

It would be pretty clear, misters (mistors) produce mist and vapers vapour.

I think german makes the distinction, "dampfen" for the e-liquids and "vaporisen" for dry herbs.
But I am not 100% sure people use it that way or if they mix the words.

I think after they resolve the vape crisis, in a couple of months/years no-one cares anymore about who vapes what and names it how.

But it would be nice to have the distinction, I agree.

drape = dry herb vape :D

It's too late to change the word for what our vaporizers do. Plus, fuck that. They don't get to steal the word from us.

People can think what they think. We can still build and distribute vaporizers, no matter what they say.

Basically, fuck The Man. Lets keep doing what we do and saying what we say.
Anyone who doesn't like it can go fuck themselves.
It's not like we haven't beed used to it for decades.
