I'm uncertain there is an official (enforceable) source for what a "dub" is. It is what it is. If you are uncertain as to what the seller means, ask him--or weigh it.

Let's pretend I actually *KNOW* what 99% of all the dealers on the east coast new jersey new York area say is a dub and I drive down the street and ask the nice young man for a dub and he drops a little baggie of off weight in my lap. Who are you going to call?

A "dub" is generally considered an 1/8th. So you should be looking at 3.5 grams.

Edit- Are they charging you $20 for this dub? If so, expect a gram or so on the EC.

Doesn't even need to refer to weight, dub could refer to a $20 price point also.

There is literally no shame in asking the dealer you're dealing with.

the thing I am finding is a dub is different things in different areas. that's why I was asking and was confused. around here it looks like a dub is cost 20.00 and that's usually a gram or gram and a half of quality, if its low quality then it can be more like gram and a half to 2 or 3 grams.

As @biohacker linked, a dub is $20.

When but a lad, we used to have dime bags one could buy. While it was about a finger's amount in a baggie, no one knew the weight of what was being handed over, just that it cost $10. A lot of times, you wouldn't even see the product. You'd look around suspiciously, pass the tenner in the palm of your hand, then look around suspiciously again, and get the baggie back in the palm of his hand. Again, look around suspiciously, put the baggie in your pocket without looking at it and quickly leave the area--suspiciously.

It was only later when you realized it was not the Maui Wowie, Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, Colombian represented by the seller, but good old Mexican Brick. Seeds and all. Bonus points if there was nothing other than weed in the baggie. Big bonus points.

I must be a little younger than you. I had to look it up because, on my coast, a "lid" was an ounce. Apparently, the difference of 1/8 or an ounce was...about 10 years.

Too funny and seems to be a completely ill defined term. Yeah, on the east coast, late 60's - early '70's, a lid was definitely not an ounce. Well, it was a short ounce for less money.

I have NEVER seen lid refer to use of a can or to represent an 1/8th.

Interesting how in different parts of the country and at different times there were widely varying understandings of these kind of terms.

Cheers

there’s so many terms is rediculous. I’m in jersey and everyone refers to a gram as a “dub” / $20 worth.

Well in UK, it used to be a straight up "eight" for £20, 3.5 grams.

Nowadays it parades by the name of a "twenty".
Rather crack like I say. Though I must confess I never actually score weed or mingle in these crowds to keep up with the current terminology and evolution over time.
