Eclipse Vape 2o

I've had this bad boy for a couple of days now and my first couple sessions with it have been great. I still have a lot of experimenting to do as far as technique goes, but my first attempts have kicked my ass. In a nutshell this vape is basically a metal disc with a stem that can connect to any size bong with a small glass vile that screws into it. You then heat the vile, allow vapor to form, and inhale. I'm still gettin the technique down, there's a lot of variables.

I'm fairly new to the oil game, maybe 4 months in. I have a glass nail and a ti curve, and imo this thing dominates both when it comes to flavor. My current bho is in budder form, which to me it seems diminishes the flavor a bit compared to straight oil. The first couple of rips I took of a roughly .1 dab tasted soooo much better than any other oil I've hit(bear in mind i'm not in a very pot friendly locale, i'm the only one i know who's doin this).

I ordered the Eclipse vape 2o off ebay for $65 shipped from taylandada. Total impulse buy. I later learned I bought the old version, which is all metal(anodized, food grade). There's a more current model that has a few different glass adapters, 14mm, 18mm, etc, but is otherwise the same. I can't decide if its gonna make a difference, but if I can find one at this price I'll probably get it too just to see.

Have you tried using it without a bubbler/bong?

I actually just got mine in the mail the other day. I got the glass on glass version for 62 bucks on ebay. I got it cuz i have been reading about and preparing to do my bho run. so i haven't used it yes cuz i have no oils and im not gonna put bud in it. but im gonna run my bho some time before next weekend and give this little booger a go.

yeah, i used the silicone tubing i got for my LB to take some smallish rips, works just fine. i'd imagine without the whip would work too, but it may get hot and harsh.

My dispensary often has hash and oils...but honestly it gets a little expensive. However, I wouldn't mind having one of these for my quiso when I do batches of that. Also, that white deer guy says you can put bud in their and it will work...if that was the case and it did work with plant matter, I think I would bit on it. I dig the idea of a simplistic device that can handle a lot of different substances.

Oh and that video says you get 20% off if you mention Bong TV or some shit....

so i've gone back to my dome/nail. i don't know if i even made it past the learning curve, but i don't like how hard it was to control my dose when i loaded more than one hit, and only loading one hit is a pain in the ass.

im sure i'll give it another try sometime soon, but for now its on the shelf.

how many vials did you have? i would think that you should have about 10 or so. that way you can load 5 or 6 with one hit, 1 or 2 with more than one hit, and then have a couple being cleaned - ready to be put back in rotation.

i have always thought that the vials are both the best and worst thing about this vape. pita to load, and clean, but they provide big water filtered hits in no time flat.

This seems to be a viable vape for kief, as it appears the hash will not sit directly on a screen. Anyone else with experience using kief or bubble hash in this? Did you press it first? Thanks.

Just picked up one of these without the metal stem, which has all the glass on glass and non glass on glass attachments. I got it used from a lurker on the forum and am very impressed with its build quality and modularity - including every possible downstem with the unit is very awesome. I got it for like 40 and am very pleased with the whole shebang. I know this thread is old as sin, but I thought I'd chime in.

Solid herbal material such as hops are super easy to vape nicely, to my surprise! Simply put a solid piece down in the bottom of the vial, then only heat well above and away from it. Tasty and effective - certainly not a replacement for a better vape specifically for herbal material, but nontheless it's nice to have the option.

I don't see the GonG on ebay?

Iamkrazy2, I have the dry pipe version and kief works good, did not try pressing it as I also had some bubble . Which also works good. I have since picked up a globe and nail. I much prefer the globe. With the vials it was always hard to fight temptation to over load them. Which would result in half consumed vials because they get funky after the first hit or two. It was also tricky for me not to over heat or take to big of a toke. This resulted in bad coughing spells. But I imagine the h2o version would help or eliminate that issue.

actually i find that the be true for me and my v20 and oil. i also prefer my dome or my kut curve for oil. however i came across what i think is a pressed low grade bubble hash,(i don't exactly live in a bud friendly place...iowa sucks), and for this stuff i greatly prefer the v20. I'm down to just one vial that I generally soak in iso after every use, but i bet i'd use it more if i had a bunch of vials.

anyway, for the $60 or whatever i paid im happy i have this thing.

Haha if you ever make it north to the twin cities axman surplus has vials that fit for $0.15 apiece. No caps though but you can buy little cork stoppers.

Ive been loving mine for bubble hash and pressed and heated kief. I was using it for the same glass i use with my VHW, Supreme, and LSV but actually stopped. When i am using good hash in this thing, i have no problem burning the whole load up, after my first one or two vapor hash hits. I hated the combusted hash in my vapo bongs, so i now use my only one glass "smoking" piece. Cleaned it out well, and taste is great. Also, pure hash (in my experience) is not at all harsh, and i love holding in those first 2 or 3 hits for 5 seconds plus.

I ordered mine yesterday on Ebay. It was $56 shipped (with 10% coupon). It looks to be a great addition to my collection. I got the green one to go with my green Gear bong. I have a ton of QWISO and hash to use with it...

I just got mine today as well... 60 off of ebay, free shipping too.
the case is nice... the pieces are nice...
the GoG is really nice, but I'm just an overall fan of GoG stuff.
I'm still suffering from the learning curve a bit, but whoa am I getting roasted.
I have some pressed and unpressed kief... both work well in the Eclipse... I am going to need to order more vials, though... cleaning each one after use is a pain the ass... but I found 50 for 20.00 bucks or something on ebay or from the eclipse website... buying in bulk leaves them much less cheaper.

I almost want to use this as a combustion piece, though.... it's so easy to combust, and when you do, it traps most of the smoke in the vial, so it doesn't just free burn and go everywhere like when you burn hash on a paper clip or safety pin... it smolders up and collects for the next hit... THAT's pretty cool, cause there's a lot of wasted smoke when you actually smoke hash/pressed kief.

what are your guys' thoughts on torches/lighters? and do you have any models you like to use?

So in terms of smell, is it the same as combustion?

If you combust in it, on the exhale, yes the smell is just as strong.... If you don't cumbust, the smell isn't as thick and doesn't linger as long.

So you attached silicone tubing to one of them Eclipses that can be used both as portable and with bong?

What size is it in diametre and where do you buy it? You wrote you got it with LB, do you mean The magic Flight launch Box? What length do you use to vape?

Aha, so this would lengthen the distance between mouth and vial... But have you tried vaping it without the tubing, and if so: how was this? Compared to a regular portable Essential Vaapp? If you know?

I am quite concerned about the absence of screens...I picture hasch (ys, this is how it is called and spelled in Sweden!) clogging up my lungs...

Maria, the tubing he refers to is the optional whip which can be bought for the Magicflightlaunchbox. You should be able to get it for 5 to 10 dollars from one of the trusted retailers like vapeworld or puffitup.

Daniel, it depends on how much of a purist you are. I would never consider cleaning a vial after every use, but I guess I'm just not that much of a purist. Maybe 5-10 uses. I fully acknowledge a clean vial (or pipe, vaporizer, car, gun, torch, house, woman!) is better than a dirty one, but it's just not worth the hassle for me.

I only have been cleaning my vials with iso after around 25 or 30 uses, but I have been using relatively small amounts at once. But, after I finish each load I use a paperclip to gently scrape out the load from the previous bowl.
