Went against my gut feelings to give this product a try and see how I would like it for quick/easy OTG option. I still don't understand what that piece of insulator was on the device, prior it melting... why was it there in the first place if it wasn't needed...?

Anyway, just got it today and got a DoA coil. They should really include extra coils, or do a better job of factory QCing imo.

Yes, I charged the device to what was indicated on the instruction paper as being "full." My draw sensor seems to work, with the blue light activating.

My terp pen did not work out of the box. The oring around the coil had moved. I unscrewed it moved the oring and screwed it back. Then it worked!

I am still in two mind about my terp pen, and need more time to decide about it.

Thank you for the tip - didn't think of that. Gave it a shot but still no luck.

Ordered from PIU and have faith they will fix it.

Mine is working fine out of the box, and I have coils on the way. But i know what you mean about needing to give it more testing @oddjobold as sometimes I seem to get amazing hits with very little concentrate and sometimes I get sub par hits when I use more, or the best hit doesn't come till iv had a few in a row and it's gotten hot. Basically i am not entirely sure how efficient it actually is.

More scientific testing is required on my behalf evidently!

Still enjoying my pen. I never intended it to be a daily driver. It is a fun toy and a great device when you want a quick sesh or lying on the couch.

With mine the taste gets coily if you let it run dry. You have to keep feeding it, although it only needs the tinest coating to keep it going. And that little coating gives you a monster first hit.

I'm on my second coil right now. The first one still works but it got so gunky that iso soaks and burn offs won't seem to clean it and has some dark build up and a bad taste. At $10 for two (actually $8.50 on sale at PIU), I just switched it out after a month of use.

I took my coil apart to try and see what was wrong, and attempt to fix it....

Makes sense it wouldn't activate... the coil wires were crossed....

:whoa:

I couldn't manage to untangle the wire and put it back together without the coil just falling apart.

Was worth a shot, but no beans.

Okay, I've got a Terp Pen coming in a few days and I have some wax on hand, pretty excited as my only concentrate vaping has been this wax in Mighty, Grasshopper, Splinter and I'm hoping this will be, well, different in a pleasant way.

My question today is, if I'm a light hitter will this vape provide multiple hits from a single modest 'filling'? I do see that over-filling might gunk things up, but in normal use is this a strictly one-hitter, or will it do more?

I like to puff then dip every time, that way you don't get the empty metal coil taste (apart from the first loading) and you don't accidentally overload the coil compared to snorting with it.

So i was a little undecided about my terp pen at first, due to the learning curve.

Why? Most other vapes (especailly convection vapes) want a low slow draw to get them going. Thats a bad idea with the terp pen. It drys out the coil and gives you a bad taste. Its also quite uneconomical with product. Terp pen is more of a sipper and you can actually sip on a dab for quite some time. However if you heat the coil too much, it gets dry, flavour is ruined and you have to reload. Its the perfect concentrate microdoser, when most other devices macro dose.

Actually i have quite fallen for my terp pen. I think this is serious. We are thinking of settling down together and having a dabpress.

This £30 little vape, is probably my favorite vape purchase this year.

I purchased one in Denver last weekend and like it for the most part. I don’t seem to get as high from that as I do from my Solo II. But, that’s not always a bad thing. My coil was good out of the box, but it gunks you pretty quickly. I need to order some more coils.

Yup.

Only 2 days in but I'm already feeling this may very well be the best 30 quid spent since I backed the DynaVap kickstarter a few years back.

Although I did spunk another tenner on 2 spare coils which seemed logical while I was getting free shipping - so 40 quid all told.

Thanks to Gaz @ www.vapewellness.co.uk for the fast, friendly service.

I'm finding it really natural to use, definitely reminiscent of an oldskool vibe.

Simplicity in use and in the overall design.

It has already got quite messy inside with reclaim but I found it pretty easy to clean.

Black with a soft touch finish looks & feels good.

Will terpy on-demand rips ever get old? I'm doing my best to try to find out.

:peace:

Hello, I just brough a terp pen and I was wondering how to do a burnoff before use? Does the pen need a burnoff? Thanks
Not a bad idea. After charging, unscrew & remove the body's cover (long sleeve that will slide off over the coil end. That sleeve also forms the vapor path and without it in place, nothing coming off of the coil will go to your mouth. So, you can draw on mouthpiece end, activating the heater and this will do the burnoff. This is good later, for intermittent cleaning of coil as well.
Look at me, a week in and I'm an expert. Ha! Saw it in a you-tube...and maybe even in the little manual that came with the pen?

Thank you! I was scratching my head b/c the lack of a button to heat it for the burnoff. My pen is in transit and I should get it by Tuesday the latest.

For a portable on the couch, I platoon between the TP and my Fury 2. I have to mess with organic cotton in the F2, but you get more consistent flavor hits. For just ease of use and good hits most of the time, I still enjoy this cheap pen so much. I also have to say, it is the best money, dollar for dollar, of any vape I own.

You do always ride the line on coily taste. I have gotten some monster flavor hits, but not consistently. Rather it is more about conveinence, performance, and fun. I agree with @LesPlenty, you do need to load it up after each hit to keep it moving steadily along. However, the reload doesn't need to be large. You just need to keep a little mud on the tires.

Sometimes if you've soaked the coils well, you can get a decent second hit before loading again, but you risk the coil flavor. I kind of know when the coils are still loaded. You can hear a little oil crackling and you still have some resistance in the draw.

Now I have read some good things about the Airistech Headbanger on another forum, but it's still almost three times the price of the TP and a bit awkward in appearance. However, it does use the newer fritted quartz nectar collector coil, which would be great to try in a future TP tip. ;)
