The difuser / micro bubbler works very well but is a little cumbersome even without water. I think I recall at one point DDave had a version that didn't require the adapter but I missed out on it.

@DDave does have one that doesn't require the adapter. Pretty good value.
https://www.ddavemods.com/store/p80/The_Ultimate_Cooling_Stem.html

Use it dry or w/water; I love it w/water. You can just about lay it down horizontal and the water doesn't come out.
It is a little cumbersome on a V1 w/box mod, so, mostly for home, but I also look fwd to using on M3 when it arrives.

Hey, I just picked up that 19/19 to 14 mm adapter from RBT! Sweet, and they tossed an additional stem in the package.

Get em while you can people!

Like the OG Milaana before it, I still love my Mi2, it may get more practical AND connoisseur use for me than my Splinters and Tubos in fact...

so cool!!! rasta can you post a pic of the milaana 2 and milaana 3 next to each other?

If it helps I think the key side-by-side visual difference will be that Mi3 is shorter without the wood cap on the bottom, while it also has a rounded side where the battery is like Mi1's did...

I wouldn’t wait for the 3 if the 2 is available now. Made by hand right here by rbt. Might even end up being the better of the two models. If I didn’t have 2 milaanas already I’d be picking up one of these. Who knows I might pick one up anyway ‘cause when they’re gone they’re gone.

Are you a Splinter fan as well? My Chinese Splinters all outperform their custom counterparts so I'm comfortable waiting on the Milaana 3.

Is what I tell myself.

Hi all, I was curious, is it okay to leave a battery in my milaana when I'm not using it if I have the pick in between the battery and the copper hatch? Or will it squish the the part in the bottom of the device where the battery makes contact? I've had a milaana for a while now but always just take the battery out when not in use, it's just become tedious to always have to take a battery out and put it back in with frequent use

I keep it in while charged, plastic pick in place, though when it's charging, I love to store the Mi stem in the battery hole, perfect fit... In fact, thats one of my bigger worries with the Mi3, I assume it'll ship w the newer, longer stem...

Should be fine, I don't even use the pick though when just storing mine in a drawer or on a table, even if a battery is inside I am careful with how I leave it (no risk of anything touching the button) but this technically IS a risk, but I gave done so with all my Milaana since before there ever was a safety pick (I had one of the first betas in fact)

I probably would be if I could figure out how to use a mod. Good to know that rbt has QC in place.

if I have the pick in between the battery and the copper hatch?

I know it's not the safest scenario but I removed the pick and am just careful about where and how I set it down. Only take the cell out when I'm swapping it out.

Gotta scratch an itch here.

The hole on the Mi2 (or any Mi) isn't really a carb. It's an air intake. It allows air to be moved from point A (in this case, air drawn in from outside the vaporizer) to point B (in this case, our lungs). In the middle of that air path, there's a heater that (ideally) has heated its contents enough to produce vapor that can join in the the air flow and move its way down the air path into our lungs.

Covering the air intake does indeed effect the flow of air. But I would recommend against covering that hole too convincingly. If you do, where's the air you're breathing into your lungs coming from? With the air intake unobstructed, the air path of the Mi 2 is clean as far as contact with electronics and glues is concerned (cleaner than prior versions, and that's where the upgrade with the new position of the intake is truly found). But if you cut off that clean air path, all bets are off. Who knows where the air you're breathing has been.

But back to the whole 'carb' thing. A carburetor regulates the flow of air during the process of combustion. It feeds (or restricts) airflow to the site of combustion and therefore enhances (or reduces) combustion. A combustion style bong might have a carb. When it's covered, an increase in the air flow from outside the site of combustion is added to the site of combustion as it is pulled through. Therefore, the fire burns hotter and produces more smoke.

Adding air to the airflow on a Milaana does the opposite. It cools off the heater, and lowers the rate of vapor production. Unless of course you've created such an amount of heat in the heater that even a high level of air flow can't counteract the heat produced by the battery. Stopping the airflow to the heater by cutting it off (by covering the intake) can produce combustion, but not because it's adding fuel to the fire, but because it's restricting the flow of cool air to counterbalance the heat produced by the battery.

So now I feel better. The Mi's have air intakes, not carbs.

Thanks for posting that.....I was unsure of how the air intake worked as I have not used an RBT product yet....I am trying to figure out how I will use the Mi3 when it is shipped....I normally use these type of vapes inverted in my water rigs..... (like my arizers...with the heater over the load).

I have been wondering if I can get a bubbler MP like a scorpion to satisfy me when mobile? The DDave's cooling MP looks like it may work......but without water...Im not sure until I can try it. It seems like it might be like the Rogue Wax Works chambered vapcap glass stem I got.....it cools good...but I feel like water is still a need for me and my throat.

Anyone using a water bubbler MP and not a rig with a Milaana?

I use DDaves Ultimate, with water, though not much on car rides. On top of a Splinter and a box mod it becomes pretty tall.
It has tipped over to horizontal and not lost any water, which does make it pretty capable for portable use.
It works well just dry; I happen to like the water use.
Like you, I'm waiting to try out a new M3 when they ship.

I won't have a Milaana until the Milaana 3 drops. I do have all the Splinters and can recommend the grey XL8R cooling stems. The long one works best and while it's not super portable it's more convenient for my use than a bubbler. I never fuck with the short or long straight stems anymore and I doubt that'll change with the Mi3.

Yes...I find that I need to keep the oven and heater as from from my lips as possible.....with water in between...haaaa I ordered one of the DDave stems to prep for the Mi3.

Sepele and walnut sounds like a regretsy wood combo but there's a Milaana 2 on the rbt store right now and everything is an additional twenty percent off for Halloween. Splinters range from fifty to ninety bucks shipped. Get down on it like kool and the motherfucking gang

Counterpoint, I feared the same for walnut body with sapele cap, but just look at this wood:

These aren't even good pictures, can't quite capture the grain and color, sapele has unique grain with rich reds that pop next to the walnut (always a lovely wood in its own right)

Sure its not as special as my purpleheart Milaana, or those stunning Bloodwood and Canarywood ones that were made in that same old batch, but come on they are not regretables! I mean hey, at least its not the same ol plain Maple of yore (not that it was bad either!);)

Yeah, that's a really nice one! No buyers remorse there for sure! :)
