Discontinued Vape-Or-Smoke Vaporizer

So placing a round screen directly obstructing the holes through which the lighter fires, and then placing the long screenin its normal configuration, leads to dramatically better vaporizing of herbal material and lower temperatures.

It is a very crude way to lower temperature, and you will taste your screens unless they are of the highest quality, and even then they will eventually turn to dust given the high temperatures.

This proves to me that the VOS can easily be made into an effective vape, it just needs a seriously reworked bowl design which doesn't require nuking screens at high temperature. But others aren't lying, consistent and relatively impressive vapor isn't too hard to pull of once you start monkeying with additional screens.

Try using the VOS with the screen that goes around the bowl but not the round one on the bottom. The VOS has a built in ash catcher so you will get stronger vape hits this way and still not have to worry about inhaling particles.

Idea cross my mind, wy not put screen on the other side of the bowl, in the little hole?
I will try tonight

bad idea, this is better.

stinac,
I emailed VOS with some of my bitching and they informed me much is in the works to create a slightly more refined herbal vaporization experience. A ceramic bowl and other additions, including an alternate lighter (probably one with a smaller flame), will help accomplish this.

The very nice VOS representative also mentioned their screens are made by an American aerospace firm just for them, so don't feel too bad I suppose about using them as people are talking about above.

Good information! I purchased mine mainly because of this... I figure the screens should be safe for now and later on I can just upgrade the bowl/lighter... Cant wait till mine arrives from Puffitup! I'll post more later...

Keep an eye out for updates. The first batch is completed, packaged, and ready to go. I am hoping that they will start showing up this week but will post an update as soon as I can confirm.

Hi fellas,

I'm from the UK and you guys can get spares at alibongo head shop online.

I have had a VoS(ninja) for around a month now and first off let me say i was able to vape right out the box with the long screen and colibri premium with the lighter set to low. I did however play around with the lighter and found it worked best with full fuel on a very low flame, the lack of a good amount of fuel seemed to stop it lighting so will try the three screen trick.

This vape is already a very good port allowing for much bigger inhales then the MFLB and a pocket free of spare batteries( i like to vape alot lol) and with the additions on route i am certain i made the right choice for my port( ssv for my house unit)

The other thing i would like to note is the superb level of service offered by the company, i posted concerns of a strange taste while vapping for extended periods worrying about the possibility of melting the housing. They explained that the unit is made of ryton(good stuff) and put my mind at rest but out of their own choice decided to send me a lighter "calibrated" to my use style, a new version of the housing and some "extra perks" for waiting for a responce.

I've had mine for about 5 days. So far what I've found to work best is the tri-screen method above with the lighter on just above medium level and when I vape I click the lighter on for 1-2 seconds and then off for 1-2 seconds and repeat as needed while I also vary the speed of my draw based on the heat I'm breathing in... This actually works pretty much flawlessly for me now, I'll admit I was burning it about 50% of the time before using the other methods in this thread...

I just got an atomizer :) Thanks to the good people at Vape Or Smoke.

I have been using and selling E-Cigs for about a year now. This is my first experience with a non-electric juice vaporizer. I am very impressed. I am using it for the incense/juice blend that I sell which contains synthetic cannabanoids. It works very well vaporizing the juice. The vapor has a different scent than when vaped with my T Rex, but I think that has to do with the history of my vape or smoke unit being used with herbal incenses as well as MJ. Still, the atomizer works fantastically. And the atomizer fits inside the frame of the unit when you are using it for other materials. If you have a vape or smoke unit and you enjoy e-liquid (or the occasional cannabis tincture) you need to get an atomizer.

anyone else having problems with herb getting trapped between the shield at the bottom and the circular shield causing some undesirable combustion( as you try and vape oblivious to the existence of the now vaped herb trapped under the grill)

This is causing me to go through screens fast as after cleaning them the circular shield never fits the same shape again causing it to trap more and more herb.

stinac i noticed your bottom shield seems to be cut to size and dropped quite low, did you cut it too size? does it cause problems or dislodge if you shake the device vigorously? ( i like to smack it against my palm to stir up my herb)

Hello all,
I checked the VOS website and found that there has been a name change, but the atomizer
cartridge is available from the manufacturer. I have not received mine yet, so I can't vouch for its
effectiveness. I will submit a review after a test drive.

I am very interested to know if you can vape iso oil with the atomizer and look forward to some reviews from you guys.

Its why you have to love this site, it has some real pros lol.

I thought i was a pro until i got schooled :D.

technique,
I think I might get one of these. The MFLB doesn't seem to get me to where I want to be even with the 2700 batteries. Like my da buddha at home can pound huge hits in a matter of seconds because I'm able to draw very fast and crank the crap out of it. So with that said I believe I need a lighter based vaped so that I am able to reach the temps that I like. So I'm going to get rid of my MFLB and try this out(my buddies have been buggin to buy it anyways).

Long time reader, first time poster. I was waiting for a while after buying my VS, because I have had products work well for a short while but after a while flaws and order nuances appear. I've had mine now for about 5 months. To be fair I must say the VS works great, its very portable, stealthy and easy to use. It vaporizes and smokes very well.

Here's the bottom line, I am on my 5th lighter in 5 months.

I just ordered another lighter at $15.99 ea + tax and shipping. The first lighter stopped working about 2 weeks in. I made a warranty claim to VS and did not receive an answer for about 3 or 4 days. Tired of waiting for an acknowledgment, I ordered another lighter for another $15.99 + tax and shipping. You'd think they would send the lighter to me on the warranty, but no, I was charged. Only after writing again did I receive the lighter. I then continued to pursue my warranty on the 1st lighter, and after a week and a half I received the 1st warranty replacement, which worked out great, because by then my current lighter that I just purchased a couple of weeks before had also failed. I live in Tacoma, which is less than 50 miles away from where they make this things, so they must have sat on my order for a while, usually mail takes 2-3 days for that. I installed the third lighter and made a warranty claim for the second lighter to Mr. Vapo, who also took his sweet time about 2 weeks to send the replacement, which I had to use to replace the currently failing 3rd lighter. That on lasted another month.

I wrote VS two days ago about this and have yet to hear from them. When they get around to responding their answers are courteous but slow.

If you buy this piece for yourself, be ready to buy lighters regularly at almost $20 bucks a pop.
The piezo stops working, the flame orifice filament brakes, and the last replacement lighter I received literally fell apart in my hands when I took it out of the box.
I was assured by VS that the lighters should last much, much longer. I wish I could agree...

I purchased a ninja about two months ago. Yesterday the piezo stopped igniting, no click or flame. The unit is clean and I use Vector. I removed the lighter from the assembly and tried to get it to click, but no joy.
Please help, I was really enjoying this unit.
I may be reached at 253

Also, I have noticed that the filament in the lighter flame orifice seems to have fused and the body plastic on lighter body seems to have hairline cracks as when plastic freezes.

Hello Again
Today my replacement lighter flame orifice filament broke in two, and although the lighter still lights, it won't last long. I just paid about twenty bucks for it about a week ago.
Am I looking at replacing these every couple of weeks guys?
I'm hoping for an expeditious response since you have all this previous information, I'm taking you up on your last response.

Hello again;

As of last Friday the 8th, I am again unable to enjoy my VS because the lighters keep failing. I am on my 5th lighter now after only about 4 or 5 months of ownership. Friday the flame orifice element broke again and when I went to use the spare I received from Mr Vapo, it fell apart (literally)in my hands.

I have to say that while I love the concept of your VS, the lighters suck. I wished that I could say your customer service came to the rescue, but reviewing my experience with this whole issue, I can not.

I will find it hard to recommend your product to any of my friends or forums.

Sincerely

O.

Wow, thats really sad dude that you are going through that. I wish every company would offer support and back their products like the MFLB. Ive had my vape-or-smoke since its release and recently added a ninja to my collection. IMO, the original seems a little better. :2c:

The MFLB is NOT meant to give monster hits, its meant to give clean consistent vapor sessions in a stealthy manner. If you are looking for big hits that could knock you out of your seat that stay away from the VOS...playing at high temps is not where this unit excels, it will combust and then you might as well not vape. If your looking for a good pocket unit than VOS serves its purpose as there is no real heat up time as opposed to using an Iolite. I like the VOS for that reason ONLY but honestly I would take the LB or the IO hands down over the ninja. Now, recently I bought the No2 and I have to say that this gives off some serious cloudwork! Its put me on my ass a few times. IMO, if your looking for a step up from your buddah than try the SSV, the Cloud, the VM2, or the Arizer Extreme Q. But to compare a buddah with a launch box is like comparing a mustang to a ferrari! yeah they are both fast but no where near the same class. :peace:

Damn babaloa15, I'm sorry to hear you're having so many lighter issues... but I must say, yours is the first case of its kind I've come across. I will say one thing, and that's that the lighter is a piece of Chinese crap, but the vos folks are hard at work finding a much better replacement lighter. That doesn't help you right now though, does it? I have many, many extra lighters in my possession because pretty much the entire vos operation moved to Arizona, and I was given quite a few in case mine or my friends' happened to break. I do find it quite odd that you're going through so many so quickly... I've had my original vos for nearly a year now and have only had to replace the lighter once because I broke it by inserting the pawl incorrectly. I've had my ninja since before it hit stores, and have never had to replace the lighter... so shoot me an email if you continue to have problems, and I'll make sure you're taken care of.

One note, the filament doesn't really matter... in fact it's been recommended to me to remove it for high-altitude vaping.

Also, check out HTTP://piecemods.com for an article on vaping perfectly with your vos every time, fat rips included. Don't let anyone tell you you can't produce clouds with this little thing because that's bullshit.
