Care to share how you controlled the heat on that most excellent "Burn"? That's gorgeous!

Sneaky sneaky George! Dropping the low temp cap right after the sale. And I just got my color m s .lmao. Good move u got me. Now I gotta place another order. Guess this is how i get all 3

All pre-order color M's will be getting a lo-temp cap. Straight from the Vap's mouth. :myday:

(oh shit i see this was already covered.... whoops :spliff:)

I also think the lo temp cap is amazing and it's pretty much my DD... it's almost impossible to consistently get good, low temp, tasty hits off a dynavap, unless you are REALLY in tune with your tip+cap+heat source... or you have a lo-temp cap :D

Obviously goes without saying, but it's quite easy to just go past the click a little with the lo-temp cap if you want a hotter hit.

I will use it this way, after using it to the click for the first 2 or so cycles, to get those really tasty terps. Really great stuff!

U can pull it off w an induction heater if you have one out of a casing. Ive done this w some ti tools. Havent tried stainless. Just heard some news and if it's true. Dynavap has done it again. So this is my early thank you either way. Stoked!
Edit: its true!!!!!
Really u guys are awesome!

Thanks for that! That helped more than you know

i just grabbed a serpent torch i had purchased from dynavap (fairly large single flame) and went at it! i removed the tip and the spinning mouth piece/condense and such and just held the m stem with a pair of needle-nose pliers and started heating it ... for some reason the tip of the M (opposite end of the mouthpiece) didn't color no matter how long i torched it ... not sure why but actually it worked out well since (at the time) i used the spinning titanium mouthpiece so all the silver at one end made it easier to remember which end to take a hit from!

i now use the spinning mouthpiece with a different stem so the m is back to it's original form ...

One thing I have noticed is the carb only functions when it's set to wide open... Is this correct?

Yep, that is correct. Also, regarding your question about oring sizes: for the Omni, they are all the same size. Some of them look larger due to where they are placed, but they're all the same. It's the "Hi temp oring kit" that comes with a pack of 5 small grey ones. Of course, if you're replacing all of the orings on your Omni, then you will need more than one pack. Another tip: make sure you are using some kind of lubricant on your orings! I did not do this at first, and mine got trashed pretty quick, and the mp/condensor assembly jammed up on me and I could no longer adjust the airflow...really sucked. That's why it is especially important to lubricate on the Omni as compared to the M. I tried using chapstick last time, as recommended by others, but it doesn't do the job as well as the dynawax. It's a shame that stuff is so expensive, but oh man it is awesome. Saliva can work in a pinch but it's not the preferred method.

I am intrigued by the low temp cap, and really would like one, I just can't see spending $25 right now... I have to buy more wax and orings damnit.

unbearably light in the being....
So it's the condenser moving in and out of the tip that creates the airflow adjustment? That's what It seems like to me. After watching this and playing around with the parts, I get how it works now. Thanks

Let me make sure I'm getting this right.. When I look into the mouthpiece, and see the condenser flush, that means it's wide open and not extended into the tip.. Correct?

And when i see the condenser not flush to the mouthpiece, that means the condenser is pushed into the tip and is the most restricted.. Correct?

Just want to make sure I got it right now..

One thing I have noticed is the carb only functions when it's set to wide open... Is this correct?

Sorry for all the questions, I know this isn't fucking rocket science but I get pissed when a company doesn't explain things out of the box and diverts you to their youtube page instead.
Okay, if the condenser and mouthpiece are a single unit, they may be screwed together too tightly to allow the air-adjust twist to have any effect.

Pull the mouthpiece out. If the thing in your hands looks like the Omni condenser on the DynaVap parts page, tube and mouthpiece in one, you’re golden.

Here’s what to do next: grip the mouthpiece end with the fingers of one hand, and the tube where it’s closest to the mouthpiece end, with the other hand.

Holding the tube part still, twist the mouthpiece counterclockwise - as seen from the mouthpiece. It may take a little effort, but those *are* two pieces, and they *do* come apart. They have to be able to move relative to each other for the air-control twist to have any effect. No tools of any kind should be required for this.

My previous post assumed that we had the pieces separated in the stem. Sorry to confuse further.

If this doesn’t clear any of it up, say so; again, hope this helps...this is pretty much THE reason I argue when people talk about Omni=BEST - it’s *different*, different learning curve from the basic design. It’s not better than, it’s a variation on a theme. Getting in tune with the theme before getting in with the variations is smart and easy. Omni was my first, I still grab it. It’s its own beast - as is the M. Love them both, use them for what they are.

@voyciz : excellent point about lubricating the o-rings. Not to worry, @Socks And Sandals - o-rings are cheap, easy to get, and come in colors. Make yourself happy. The link got freshly reposted, so look back a page or 3, “oringsandmore.com”, IIRC.

Dynawax is fine stuff and works great...but so does nose grease (or below-the-ear/behind-the-earlobe, same stuff, same factory). Not a joke, works fine, cheapest possible, no shipping lag. Could maybe make do with a silicone-safe lubricant of another kind, but that’s not for me to say.

So far, I have had to replace ONE o-ring out all of them (for that matter, my screens are all original equipment. Stuff is fabulously engineered.

one last point: The Omni is wide open when the two pieces of the condenser are screwed closed (shortest possible length). Don’t mean to complicate, just don’t want to accidentally say yes to the wrong thing.

I'd like a HIGHER temp cap, not a lower one

The fuck am I supposed to do with a lower temp cap? Go 6-8 seconds past the click instead of the current standard 2-4 seconds past the click?

Anyway...I'm sure it will be AMAZING for some people, but I couldn't fathom myself using one.

The Universe is our endless supply
Low temp cap is to hype us all up for the high temp cap. Its the next logical step. I'm hoping if they are messing w the temp timing they can do a larger bowl / cap in the future. I see big things coming. The universe is our endless supply

They are doing a similar marketing strategy they did with the karma, with the addition of offering the low temp for purchase immediately.

1st: With the karma, they were rebranded 2018Ms. The 2019Ms came out, and they had a bunch of the 2018s they knew would be difficult to sell, cause who wants the older model? With the low temp cap, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a batch of caps that were out of spec, with respect to the click temp.

2nd: Give away the obsolete/out of spec rebranded item to those who are already fans of the product line. The people who pre-order the 2019M and the Color M are already fans, so give them an extra to create the hype. They are more likely to say something positive about a free product.

3rd: This is where they improved I believe. The karmavap got people interested in the product line and the company. But if you were lucky enough to get a karmavap, you were set. You couldn't buy a karmavap, so it was marketing. The difference now, is that those who get the color Ms are gonna say how fantastic new cap is and you can buy it IMMEDIATELY if you didn't pre-order. These new caps are $5 more than the standard caps. This is the return they didn't get off the karma.

Im not hating on their strategy. I think it's clever. But come on, it's a rebranded out of spec cap for $5 more. Heat the cap less.

Im not saying the above are facts, and I don't have any experience with marketing. This is only how the low temp cap comes across to me.

Ya know, not every fan is a shill and not every critic is a troll but just FYI I will share that your cynicism is not a good look. I, for one, appreciate DVs desire to grow their product line by satisfying the interests of their users and by continuing to improve their products. As a consumer you can buy in or not, but impugning the motives of a great company isn't very generous or fair or consistent with what we have seen so far.
And that is how your post comes across to me...

And BTW, I will suggest if these caps were really caps that just were out of spec that would mean that they test all their caps for the click temp which seems very unlikely.

Maybe a timer on the IH would work similarly. Insertion depth helps. I'm with the 'good on them' camp but I won't rule out that this product came about by way of a happy accident. Just last night I was thinking this very thing when I sucked a full cap very dark in two draws. Then I realized I had the cap at the farside of the coil :spliff: ...and yes, the bottom of my IH is still set to the far end; and yes, that slows the click significantly for those wanting more heat and a slower click. Makes for some massive plumes on that second draw! 3 & 4 become kind of moot if you know what I'm saying.

In my original post, I said that I wasn't stating facts, and these were only how the new cap appeared to me. Nothing against dynavap intended. I've always been a fan of the omni line, the dynacoil was a very smart product introduction, and overall, I have been happy with my all my dynavaps. Although not my daily driver, I still frequently recommend their products to others if I think it will fit someone's need.

Manufacturers rarely test 100% of their products, so I agree with you. It's not feasible, nor practical in most cases. That's where sampling and statistics come in.

Why do VC's not center on standard disk magnets and what type of polarity does a magnet need to center the VC automatically? I know it has to do with the bi-metal but I don't see how the fields distribute.

Lets see how the LTC performs before we decide whether it is a legit upgrade or just re-branding. I have my suspicions that it will be an upgrade.

In the interest of shilling, I dropped my 2mmXL on the concrete garage floor this morning and........nothing. So I did a little test and shot a video. This is after about 20 drops. I will break this stem :bang:
