I'd love to try a FP SH. Unfortunately there is no Canadian vendor. Thus making that device unaffordable..
Tell me more about DNA 250c mods. Please. I just did a search there are many different brands of DNA 250c mods. Are they all trust worthy? If the mod itself is going to change and uplift the overall experience, then I'm saving for one!
The premier mod that uses DNA chips are anything from Lost Vape. They utilize both the DNA 75c and the 250c. Do your version of due diligence, but I've had good luck with elementvape.com.

info for splinter z newbies: when in tcr, use tcr 120, 40-45W, lock resistance when in room temperature, set temperature to 180 = massive clouds without overheating. it helps to set the device temperature manually, my rx gen 3 was reading it incorectly and then it was telling me it was overheating.

What’s the normal resistance range for the Z? In wattage mode I was seeing .39 at room temp on the first day.

On day two I’m at .46 ohms which prompted the mod to detect the Z as a new atomizer. This is on the latest arctic fox firmware.

The heater seemed less efficient today, more battery spent per hit, lighter extraction

is this kind of cold resistance swing normal? Are ranges published anywhere?

Trying finalize my order plans. I plan on picking up the Z v2. Is the Xl8r and jr. listed on the site the ones that will fit? Thanks

@someTooL yes, they fit into the Z V2 aswell.

@EnemyLemon you'll have to share more details, on what wattage? you tried to raise it up? do you take hits slowely? ohms around 0.39 and 0.46 is ok, it depends on the mod

Oops, I probably should have deleted or edited that post. Promptly fell asleep after that!

I'm on a Reuleaux RX3 Gen 3 Dual. I'm stepping up wattages from 25 to 30 to 36 to finish, and have a 2 second preheat boost to 45 watts. Regarding the resistance though, the changes I mentioned were all at room temp and in a consistent room. But if those ranges are normal, then cool.

What I'd forgotten to edit the post for: My extraction issues were actually due to a stem change. It turns out the wooden stem doesn't seal well which results in less air being drawn through the heater as more air is being pulled from around the edges of the stem joint.

Once I went back to the smoked glass stem, WOW what. a. difference. Even at a lowish max power of 36 watts I'm getting huge amounts of vapor, full of flavor and potent. The relief I'm getting from CBD flower in the Z is hands down better than any other vaporizer I've tried. It's exactly what I've needed and hoped for. And yet my ABV is much lighter than expected. Lighter than my Airvape X set to 360f.

I had thought that TCR would be the way to go, but really Wattage mode is just so easy. Stock firmware is just fine, but with Arctic Fox on here I set a cap at 50W, tweaked some preheat settings and no need to complicate it further. We'll see how long I can avoid tweaking though.

Next steps for me are just to finalize my stem situation, find some sort of dosing capsule solution and build out a travel case, which is always a lot of fun.

Really want to thank the RBT team for such great work, their customer service, and their presence here in the community. Well done guys.

Compatible with S&B dosing capsules and liquid pad? 4" long, included cap for travel? very interesting, more cooling then xl8r? I'm going to get one of these but I I'm waiting until BF before I treat myself vape wise for the year. Gotta put restraints on VAS at times!

great find! Looks like they’re out of stock though. I’m surprised there aren’t more rbt/s&b capsule options out there. Or maybe I’m looking in the wrong places

Here's the start of the aforementioned Splinter Z road kit.

I grabbed a Caseling unit that seemed to be about 2x the size of my AirVape kit. There's room in the lid for 2 sets of 18650s, 3 stems and a tool kit. Hopefully I can swap out the stash jars for some future preloaded RBT screen magazines! :science:

The case isn't really designed to be smell proof, so along with a custom foam insert it'd probably be a good idea to add an activated charcoal liner. Seems like convection vapes used primarily with CBD are already about as low stank as it can get.

After my Z cooked and left a gross film and Smokey (just like a wood smoker) I just haven’t been able to get the smell to fade. I have pm’d @khelek41girl about the possibility of repair along with a few other units with other issues. Haven’t heard back yet but I’m not sure if she’s still active here anymore, has anyone had recent interaction?

in the meantime I decided to pick up a Zv2 while they were on sale. I probably should have held off as my funds are real tight these days but I think that it was still a great price for the performance. My Z had previously had some issues with consistent extractions at times, but so far this Zv2 is a rock solid performer and I’m wondering how much I’d notice a difference, if at all between the Zv2 and a custom Z at this juncture. @Shit Snacks, you’re probably among those who I imagine have used both.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get my Z looked at and repaired at some point and I’ll be able to roll the two side by side.

Nope, never tried any ZV, just my Custom Z and V2... I think @bossman has both though?
I have both. I've said it before; my v1z is my DD, performs at least as well as the custom wenge Z. Maybe a little less soul, but I wanna get high, not just stare into its eyes...
not to say the custom's aren't worth the dough: custom car vs production model...

I'm using myevic firmware. Was zoning into my mod game but I made a mistake somewhere. Now I'm getting a 'long fire' warning then it stops cruising after 10 seconds. Any ideas?

That's the Vaping > Prot time
I changed that from to 25 seconds. Helps! However, it wasn't doing that previously. my other mod p80, is also set at 10sec protect time, it cruises no problem. There's another setting that I've touched

There was an interesting bit of information that came out of one of Ryan's livestreams this weekend. While discussing the Milaana 3, he briefly looked ahead and mentioned working on the upcoming Seed and Splinter 2. I asked if plans for Splinter 2 also included a Splinter Z 2 as well, and if I'm remembering correctly, his response was something along the lines of planning to integrate the the Splinter and the Z, but make it modular or configurable somehow. I think he mentioned eliminating the glue, but I'm not sure if that was from the stream or from the Splinter 2 thread here. Plans for this are still up in the air and subject to change of course, but I thought it was an intriguing idea nonetheless.

I would love to see a Dyna-Builder type application for Splinters. Choose and customize your own heater, wood type, glass colour and number of intake holes.

My bad. Didn't notice that. I'm going to call them Tuesday and see when/if they'll restock

I actually ordered what seemed to be the last two PVFS shorties, but I've already shattered one :(. This was several months ago. I also sent in a message asking if they were getting any more in stock shortly after ordering, but never got a response back.

I got the long one with a Milaana I bought not too long ago:

They're ok, but I don't think using dosing caps with RBT vapes is worth the trouble generally. I feel like you hinder performance somewhat by using them.

Since I'm posting pics:

I've been running my Z's on power mode using the vTwo Mini and have been getting excellent results at 36w. I just got the double barrel today and so far at 36w it feels a little sluggish in comparison, but does a nice job. It's really heavy, a touch on the uncomfortable side for me, but it looks as if I'll be able to get really good battery life in a relavtively small package.
