Carta by Focus V

This is an odd comment that seems really out of place in this thread. I've owned every iteration of the Carta so far. I also own a Peak and a Switch, and by this point I've gotten to try the Oura and the Rok. I'd still take my OG Carta over any of them. I don't think I understand your comment in the Oura thread that there are "lots of problems" with the Carta still, either.
I have been hard on @FocusV because the iOS app isn’t a real app but a hack app and I stand by that until that changes. That being said, I got another, did the hack app(finally got it to work) and can now use it to my liking. The app still needs work but I can now use mine at my preferred temperature and really like it! But... I’m still not satisfied with the preloaded temp settings, not that they are wrong, just wrong for me and feel user programmable temp settings should have been in place from the get go. Can’t believe you can not update the device through the app either, at least on the base model.

Do beta users still get 30% off sitewide?

I can't see any price reductions and do not know how to activate it, I received my 2500 points and I also received my Beta Gold Crimson yesterday which is just the Crimson with the gold Carta Flame Off tag on it.

But I was trying to order some other things from the site but noticed there is no discount applied.

Thanks!

Also how are you guys going 464° I tried that and I'm not getting any vapor at all!

Did you by chance keep the degrees on Celsius which it is by default?

I tried at 464° F with Everlast and Ceramic and didn't get any visible vapor.

I believe Randall put the code up in an earlier comment. BETA30. Should already be applied automatically but I had to use it once manually, and they will confirm on their end & then it will be automatically applied for later purchases. I entered it for the SiC bucket purchase. But when I went to purchase the Ceramic buckets last week, it was already applied

And about the 464°F dab. That's usually my 1st run for flavor I get light vapor, then I'll crank it up a notch or 2 till I get to 500°F. Also on the Crimson Carts the heat up time is longer, which I don't mind because it doesn't burn the terps off so quickly.

One thing I don't like about their ceramic insert is the inside isn't smooth so q-tipping is an issue even with glob mops it tears them up.

I made sure to give my SiC a thorough cleaning before use and I am just holding off until the glass or ceramic tops are released so I have sat the SiC aside and using it as an insert in my banger on my regular rig.

It's alright, wish they would have went with smooth bottoms on all of the inserts idk why they didn't.

Anyone have the eternal quartz v2 insert it looks great and I love that it has a wider surface area for dabs I want to pick it up from the site but unsure of performance.

Yea, my first couple of runs with the ceramic bucket cleaned up easy but after that it built up and like you say rips up cotton quetips and leaves cotton stuck to the sides. I have the eq cups coming this week

Has anyone tried the ceramic insert for the Puffco in the v2 atomizer or the Everlast?

It seems like it could fit but I don't have any on hand to test myself.

So I thought I would return here and post my experience with the SIC and Everlast. I am using neither atm. LOL i found the Everlast was barely getting hot enough to give me any sort of good cloud on #4 (usually sit on 2 then up to 3 on occasion) so yeah, went back to an old atty with the 3rd rebuild plate on it now. The SIC I found to be less than expected in the flavor dept and more in the spillover dept which I thought should be the reverse so back to the Titanium we go. SO That was around $100CAD wasted again I feel, although it was my choice to pre-order them. I am still using the Carta (until I'm sure a different device I am watching is fully tested then released before purchasing) and I do enjoy the device atm HOWEVER...
I will always in future make certain the Vape I buy has been released for a decent amount of time with nowhere near the complaints I found online about the Carta before I took a leap of faith and bought it so newly released. While I like the WORKING device, I still think the release to those of us not on the beta team was rushed and not properly executed and tbh I DO feel new non-beta adopters got rooked with the purchasing of devices sent with v1 stuff when v2 had been a day away from release etc. etc. NOW, I see the fully tested device that SHOULD have been shipped on release, not the stuff we got early, early on. Makes me sad about it actually especially when I was so excited and bought so early. Tres Bummer :(

@Fkn0wned
I’m not sure, I have only used rosin in the new bucket at level 2-3 and it was good. Today I used a bho wax and the new cap and had to go up to 4 to get little milk and a puddle of good oil in the cup. Not sure if it’s the material or the new cap. Cap is kinda big, very little side to side movement, not sure it’s helping or hurting.
Also, I could have sworn the eq cup was nice and tight when I installed it, now it rattles and is not in contact with the cap.

I have to re-set mine every time I swab it, which seems to dislodge it from the heating plate. Just unscrew the cap and re-position it.
Is yours tight from just enough pressure from the lid when it’s all the way on? I really thought mine was yesterday. Is it possible the bottom got pushed down?(not even sure if it’s physically possible). Or maybe I’m just wrong about how tight I thought it was.

Also, what preset is close for you with the eq cup, if you have tried it on an Everlast and base Carta. Thanks.

It's tight enough, but not snug like the fitted cups are - hence why swabbing seems to dislodge it. If I take another dab without re-setting the cup first, it doesn't heat properly. So since I swab after every dab, I simply remove the cup to reload it with material, so I can re-set it. Works great every time.

I've only been using the EQ in the crimson with the everlast, but I like it at levels 2 and 3. It even makes some light and tasty hits at level 1.

Eternal Quartz cap(right) vs stock cap(left)for Carta. Air hole on the EQ too big to effective for me, I have to feather the hole with my finger, any suggestions?
EDIT: Eternal Quartz contacted me and is going to make it right:clap:.

I went ahead and used some of my rewards points to get the EQ v2 insert a bit cheaper than with the 30% off beta offering.

Now I'll just have to wait for it to get shipped and head this way I'll more than likely use that until the replacement tops are released for the Atomizers since the SiC and Ceramic inserts have said to crack the plastic tops.

I've been using my SiC insert in my normal rig and banger and it works great holding some heat in and doesn't chazz up any which is good.

Hey guys been gone for a bit but got my Everlast atty and much better imo and I got ceramic buckets but I'm seeing they are cracking the tops? I haven't tried yet but what's the general consensus? I like Everlast atty better than v2 so is that everyone else opinion? Any other must haves??

Since i received the Crimson (everlast), I have only used the sic insert in it. no cap issues yet, and i screw it all the way on (don't like the air bypass when its loose). I have the ceramic in the OG (v2 atty), also no cap issues yet.
I will stick to this set up and report if/when issues occur.
