Happened to me too.

If you put out the battery while the device is on, put it back in, start the Elite and it's still warm, a prompt shows up, asking if you like to set a new resistance value. Accidentally pressed yes once.

I noticed the DNA board prompts a few times when saying No to changing value. Too bad it’s not the other way around . Lol if needing to press Yes 5 times to change coil value it would be quite hard to change it accidentally.

Similar to the coil prompt , the board doesn’t appear to save the date and time when switching the battery cell. I prefer to swap batteries instead of using USB port but lose the time and date function in doing so. Ain’t gonna spend my time changing time. It’s not what the vape is meant for anyways .

I have an herbalizer I'd trade for a LB elite @Bravesst :brow:

Seriously love the timber elite. I had a fw6 (got on the list months ago and got the timber on a VAS whim) ended up selling the fw6 because I just don't need any other vape. Except maybe a lil bud elite to keep my tall boy company!

@P.A.M. or any one with two elite should do a claisen vid! Dualing vapwoods.

:science: For science.

Goodness. Picked up some bluedream and timber elite has seemed to Rip my head off.

Float on everyone

Chilly Update
Holy fucking shit!!! The breeder must be a kind of dog whisperer, because Chilly is the most even tempered, mild mannered, happy, smart, cuddly, lovable little pup ever. He is actually Reddy's nephew, which is even better! He's been keeping me pretty busy, and really happy.

October batch is done, done, and done. I'll be shipping it out tomorrow after one final buff up in the early AM. The *test tubes*, hopefully, will happen next week. I'll let you know if you made the cut. Alan and I have been discussing Timber tube specs, and he is also gonna make me some *stubbys*. I'm sure they will be top of the line.

@elykpeace , not exactly sure what an Herbalizer (volcano-ish?) is, but thanks for the offer. I am very much a portable guy.

I was just on Reddit, and someone got a tube stuck in a Lil' Bud. Not sure how that could happen, but I guess anything is possible. If you find a tube hard to remove, rock it back and forth, eventually it'll give just a hair, and that will be enough. Keep rocking a few more times and it'll loosen. Glass on glass can really bind, but wood is usually pretty forgiving. Someone mentioned a different system for locking in a tube, not gonna happen. The taper system, using all wood, is one of the best things about the LB and Timber. The guy from Reddit used a vice (hopefully wood vice), and I believe he was able to save the tube.

Today, a bit of heat and buff on all 7 units. I've only got one international order (so my post office buddies will be happy) and six domestics. If all goes well, and sales continue steady, I may invest in a really good lathe and take Vapwood to another level. In the little bit of turning I've done, I like it a lot. Sometimes *round* can be less work.

On another note, thank God @Alan is healing up, and is asking for more Square Hi bodies. Anybody interested in a really cool desktop should check into his HI and Square HI. State of the art, mother of log vapes.

Right now, I need to sell some stuff and work on building up inventory supply once again. I need tubes, buttons, boards - the big 3!

Just a reminder - SNEAKYREVIEW - saves you 10 percent at checkout on Timber

Super excited to hear about Alan's recovery. I'm working with him on a slitted glass-lined roasting tube that doubles as a 14mm water pipe connection. Between that and my future Walnut Timber, the future is looking good!
Can't wait to put the Grasshopper back on the shelf :D

Sorry for the long absence. I had another computer blip yesterday. Don't ask how I got it worked out. It seems like it got caught in an update, then would not reboot. It's working now, but I have no idea how. The back and hip pain have gotten a bit aggravated recently as well, so I've been trying to rest up a bit. I'm also doing some *trigger point* therapy, mostly on my own, but also with the help of a massage therapist and my wife (and massage gun).

This week, I'll be back at it.

Plans for this Week
- get started on my tube building, testing
- begin working on some square HI bodies for @Alan
- get another batch of Timbers started for November

It's fire prevention month in NYC, so I'm a bit busy with my *day job*, doubling up on hours this week. That'll all level off as orders come in.

What's Your Favorite Roasting Tube?
Before I invest my time, I'd like to hear about everybody's favorite Timber or LB Elite roasting tube?

The only Roasting Tube I have used for some time is my all wood, walnut, 2 1/2” long, 8mm draw roasting tube I had @Alan turn for me.

My fave are the stock tubes I received with my Elite. Also use a glass XL8R from RBT. It does a great job cooling the vapor, but it's large size makes it awkward to use on the Elite and Timber.

Good Morning Vapwood!

I would love to try the xl8r. I believe there is much you can do in the tube to customize the experience. @nonbeliever , you were my original inspiration for the 8 mm ID idea. Basically there are a few viable variables, and what's nice is that you can have one Timber and lots of tubes.

The shorty tubes will have an ID of 8 mm, so no on the glass tube. Glass lined tubes need to be 10 or 12 mm ID, which I will still have (at least for now). The concept of the shorty is a standard Timber default tube, with options to *upgrade* to glass lined tube. Until I get a chance to test this out, it's all conjecture.

Some new Timbers have landed. I'd like to hear reactions. I apologize for no tracking, but I actually misplaced the post office receipt. At this point, I am preparing for holiday sales, trying to stock up on everything. I know there's lots of people out there talking about Timber and Lil' Bud. I've noticed an increase in general, on Reddit and other forums, of Vapwood product discussion.

I use either a long XL8R stem (my at home preferred) or a 2.5" lg 19/22mm x 14/20mm tube that Alan turned for me. I prefer this particular tube because I can place a 10mm glass lined tube inside and I can also easily trap 6mm cooling beads with a 5/8" screen inside the tube to help with cooling the vapor. A narrower ID provides just a little bit more restriction on the airflow as well which I prefer.

My Timber landed yesterday, had a quick test before bed. I'm coming from a MFLB so I'm anticipating a bit of a learning curve (especially since I have no box mod or regulated vape experience). I had a good time on the test flight though, it really is instant and tasty vapor!

I have the roasting tube with the glass insert and I noticed it got pretty hot. Should I lower my temp in TC mode? Or try Wattage instead? Also how long of a draw should I take? If anyone wants to walk me through it I would appreciate it.

@amazing , congrats ! yes , lower your temp in TC mode . If it came at 375, lower it to 340 and see from there how that feels , adjust from there.

Generally I’ve found the vapes feels hot at first then stabilizes, if that’s a break in period or more subconscious adjustments to a new vape, I dont know . The Temp file of my Timber is still on the hot side though, after 393 puffs .

Sure try to Watt Mode, it isn’t very different or at least shouldn’t be. I did try the Watt Mode like @nonbeliever (I think) suggested , it did perform smoother ,but I don’t get why the Temp mode wouldn’t perform the same . Anyways . As for Watts, Instead of vaping at a set temperature you vape at a set Watt. You can change Watts up or down like you do in temp mode. In time you’ll figure out what a wattage give you in terms of extraction, roasting degree . Either you roast in Watt or temp , it will roast to level you want it to by adjusting temp or Watt.

As for draw speed etc, you got it running and felt something from your first session , it sounds like you are well on your way , keep it going from there

Thanks for the tips!

I think I now understand that the brief 60w boost in TC mode is what makes the heat I'm perceiving, whereas in Watts mode there's no boost so it goes slowly from cool to hot? Also explains why there's a much bigger cloud from TC than Watts. I'm guessing from my MFLB experiences that I should be drawing faster during that 60w boost?

Sorry I just found the posts in here about the 8 modes and I think I get it now. Any issues using the Watts 2, the one with no boost? At least in my 2nd session I got small but very flavorful hits with it.

You’re welcome ! Sorry I haven’t tried a mflb so I can’t compare . Don’t be shy to try fast or slow, short or long draws. You can lower the amount of boost in settings , if haven’t done so already and if you think it might be the initial ommph of Heat you find hot

Ah thanks again, adjusting the boost was in fact the key to that heat!

I saw people talking about the S&B dosing capsules, do those fit in the standard stem? Also there was a case that was linked to but is sold out at that link, any other cases people are enjoying?
