Micro-dosing

I micro-dose, Only
usually 0.05g.-0.15g. a little high maybe, But I vape constantly, for 45 min.-hr. :worms:

I just bought a new .000 scale that's perfect for the job.

But to be honest, I don't believe this weighing system is very accurate. :sherlock:

I get widely varying volumes of flower at a given weight? :whoa:

Depending on strain, but more likely the moisture content :science:
Indicas weigh a lot more than it looks compared to sativa strains which are featherweight light

I don't get it... my tolerance has continued to decline, and i'm at the point now where even a teeny amount gets me pretty damn lifted.

Are high CBD strains the way to go to even "further" the micro dosing of THC? Because even a 3.5:1 CBD:THC seems to feel pretty strong, although the feeling doesn't last very long, or at least the "peak" and then it's a very enjoyable "background" medication.

@biohacker just curious are you vaping the CBD? When I vaped flower CBD the effects were mild. It had a great synergy with THC - as you describe - and also that it changes your THC strain's properties in unexpected ways. Basically if you took THC strain "X" along with CBD flower, THC strain X wouldn't feel like strain X anymore, now it's like some other random strain. This isn't a bad thing per se. You could even have a THC strain you got but discovered you weren't a fan of - too strong/not strong enough, or whatever reason. Add CBD flower to it and ta-da, maybe it will "transmog" :D into something you will really like!!

I'm now using CBD tinctures and avoid using THC when on the tincture because idk how the tincture affects me yet. Sometimes when I take the tincture and THC, I get effects I'm expecting, other times they're too muted, etc, just kind of inconsistent but I think it's just my hesitance to meld the THC high than anything else to be honest. Just need to experiment with the tincture itself fully first and understand how it works individually

I want to come back to CBD flower in the future though. It felt more holistic overall when paired with THC, albeit much shorter lasting than the tinctures. If used in isolation, the flower CBD seemed to last maybe 30 minutes. The effects of the tincture in isolation lasts a lot longer, I know that much, but due to how... invisible.. CBD effects are I can't even tell when it wears off. But about 2 hours after taking the tincture I certainly feel more at ease for about 2-3 hours. 30 minutes from the CBD flower in isolation just wasn't worth it for me. But combined with THC, I think flower>tincture.

Plus sometimes you just really want something immediate and a tincture won't provide that since it takes a while to work. So if you have daily mild anxiety that spurs up a couple times during the day.. by the time the tincture will work, your anxiety would be gone on its own and now you kind of wasted the tincture dose...

I've been meaning to take the tincture, wait 2 hours, then take THC, but really I mainly use THC like a baby's pacifier "oh shit I don't feel great, going to take a couple hits", so the tincture just doesn't come in play much since THC on its own totally makes my anxiety disppear no problem with way more certainty and reliability, and CBD just provides a more mellow, alert experience when combined with THC. But now I the tincture 3 times a day as a preventive measure and then THC as needed/desired during the day.

This combo works well for me and I feel if my future workplace were to drug test, I'd be pretty OK not having THC and only using CBD tinctures. I'd say it's a 'gud enuf' alternative to THC for some purposes. CBD flower without THC? Not even worth the $cost and harsh smoke and flavor CBD flower provides, IMO

Still dying to test legitimate CBD/THC strains like Pennywise, instead of mixing my own, though! One day

rambling post. oh well :sherlock:

@biohacker just curious are you vaping the CBD?

I quit flower well over a year ago so I low temp micro dab High CBD low THC FSE (that's the 3.5:1 I have - 5 different strains) but also have a gram of the cbd isolate powder which I dab around 400f. Sometimes i'll put a touch of the powder on my tongue.

My experiences are similar to yours, and i've gone down the rabbit hole of tinctures, high cbd flowers, etc. and am really starting to dig the effects of the cbd, especially in tandem with thc.

My goal is to reduce my consumption to nil and then ideally hopefully will be satisfied without any high thc strains, and just stick to the high cbd with low thc. The effects do seem so much more medicinal and well rounded (REAL full spectrum) and wow does high thc ever feel like a DRUG now lol.

I just can't believe how effective introducing cbd and micro dosing has been in changing my relationship with cannabis to a MUCH healthier one. FINALLY!

I'm still early in the microdose journey but really impressed with my experience . I have been slowly decreasing my cannabis use from week to week without affecting the experience very much. And after a number of weeks now, I'm consistently down somewhere to about 1/5 the amount in a bowl compared to my previous cannabis use. And I've sampled even lower amounts down to 1/8 or less with impressive results.

After spending a number of weeks slowly ratcheting down my dose and trying small amounts I felt like going with a little more indulgent experience for a change and found the right time for it. I bumped the dose a little (from 1/5 as mentioned earlier to 1/4 of previous high dosing). That bump combined with the first use after the weekly break brought a very impressive and potent experience. It definitely reminded me of the much higher original dose experiences. Potent :science::science:.
Microdosing has worked extremely well with me :leaf:. It's flexible and experiences are strong. Highly recommended.

Not me not a fan of cartridges at all. Unless I'm flying or have to be really really discrete which is very rare.

I think they are incredible for microdosing, I find it easy to achieve pretty consistent doses compared to other forms of vaporization.

I only use cartridges produced by cutting edge single source companies though.

Thanks! i can imagine the 0,05 gram bouncing around in the basket while taking a pull but., i guess that is not a problem!

Lighty tamp it down. It won't bounce around. And I would suggest for using such a small load (based on my preferences ;)) try a coarse grind, then a medium, & then a fine. The only difference in load size is the # of hits you'll get.

Where has the time gone?
Thank you so much @Alexis for this excellent and most interresting reference. It has a full section about Cannabis https://thethirdwave.co/psychedelics/cannabis/, one of the best synthesis I have read on the subject.

@Alexis shared this exceptionally well documented ressource on the topic : https://thethirdwave.co/ in another thread. I just found a different page in that same ressource. Might overlap but in case here's the link: https://thethirdwave.co/microdosing/marijuana/

Now everything is integrated here also where it certainly belongs.
Safe and sound psychonautics exploration to all. :peace:

Thanks for the response! I am sold!

Is this a option? Has anyone ever tried it?

As far as I know, the insertion of double screens (1 above the load & 1 below it) in the stem joint is for those who want larger loads than the basket allows.
