@Accept ... for the gold plating are you referring to that on the legs of the SiC cup? I hadn't noticed, but I also hadn't paid attention to that really ...

Yes - don't recall exactly what it looked like initially, but the part that's been in and out of the clips no longer appears to have any gold coating. Sure looks like it just scraped off. That big chip on the corner probably isn't helping.

Personally I think gold plating electrical contacts is, in general and all the while acknowledging that there are some very specific applications (think very low voltage and/or high noise sensitivity) where it is indeed beneficial, mostly for show and tell.

Yes, gold will not oxidize and impact resistance and yes, it does have a very low electrical resistance....but under the gold on either contact is other metal with its resistanceso...I mean, does it really improve things?

I view it as sort of like Monster audio cables....people loved the gold plated terminals....but mostly its for show.

Sounds like AVS has some mech engineering issues to resolve so as to have good solid contact between the SiC crucible and the RDA with stable path resistance while not requiring so much force to seat that the SiC breaks.

Should be easily solvable (hope so, at least) and I wish them the best in getting this quickly fixed if not already.

It reminds me of doing a torched cold start dab.

It's kind of nice, and kind of consistent.

Without their custom mod it can't really give an e-nail like experience though.

Honestly I feel like they use the cross compatibility of their coils to claim it works on any mod, but the ESCC without temperature control is more like a torched dab. There's a margin of error to the hits. IMO they should have just waited to release them together because the experience can't be complete without that other half.

IDK I feel like I'm loading way bigger dabs than I would use on my enail but not getting that much vapor.

Without temp control it's easy to push it too far, especially if using something like flower rosin.

With the reports of broken dishes, I'm timid just taking off the cap to load the thing...

I think it has potential, but without their dedicated box mod I would take the e-nail competitor claims with a grain of extra course Himalayan salt.

Honestly I'm thinking maybe they should have done a full blown e-rig concept with it just like everyone else, it feels like it needs all the other pieces they've shown off. The modular concept was appealing in theory, but I think it just turns into a less seamless user experience in the end.

I think the atomizer and mod should have been built together, with simple TC software only for the SiC bucket, a little OLED screen to adjust temperature, and a much more secure bucket connection. I celebrated the idea of its versatility early on, but I realize it doesn't need to be versatile, instead it needs to be rock solid.

Mine is working well enough that i do enjoy it and im glad they released it before the mod. I am loading very little compared to what i would use on a quartz banger and i feel like i get just as high if not a little more with the m22. My escc looks and feels thin but i have not managed to break it even after i dropped it. I am satisfied with it right now but i know it can be so much better. i also have not used a rig in the last 6 days btw. I agree though there is a margin of error and it seems to happen when i load too much.

Eh my second set of clips loosened up a lot, they are still usable but I gotta adjust them often. I believe i only have 1 more set.

noticed the m22 is available on the AVS website now in three out of four colours, sorry if you wanted it in purple. Much pricier than I'd of expected at £120! Suppose your paying a high price for the SiC over Quartz and/or coils?

If I were to invest in this I'd likely stump up for the whole rig kit just so I know it's all finely tuned, at that price point we're looking at the top end dab rig bracket.

I'm hoping now that the Chinese holiday is over we will get word soon on the status of the replacement parts. I am also curious how much the cost of the new ESCC will be specifically in the case where a leg breaks due to an unfortunate tumble.

The Mod and Bubbler should also be coming out this month. I'm really interested in the bubbler honestly. And I do want the mod for TC but I am willing to wait. I want my ESCC back though :(

You dealing well with the clips on the base then @Grifo? Wondering if you get a wobble or lob sided dish?
I wouldn't say well, but I do have to move the dish back and forth to drop the ohms down as much as I can. Sometimes having it lob sided works too. Other than that it works great.

New pix and info about the new clips on the AVS subreddit, this morning. Looks very much improved, to me.

I saw that on Reddit, Bret seems very very through with his R&D and letting everyone know the entire process of getting from a to b and onwards, impressively that's just the clips!

As a non early adopter I'd likely get a m22 when it's all done and dusted, however that would likely be extra cash. If I were to buy one right now is that still a pre release order and get the upgraded parts when they become available?

Anyone know?

If you order the existing pre-release version, you'll be sent the new uodated parts as well, once they're ready. New ESCC, clips, o-rings, and ceramic cup for the coils. Possibly more... For free. That makes ordering the pre-release version the most economical route, as the final is expected to include a price increase.

That's what I assumed, a price hike after all the extra investment. I'll have to see about getting one asap so I hopefully end up with some double parts as well for backups.

Thanks @Olde7 for the advise. I would ask Bret directly but I've sent him a email before (regarding international shipping) and got no response, he's likely very very busy doing all background stuff for everyone.

That has just turned me off somewhat.:uhh:

It really shouldn't, during normal times (not in the middle of updating a new-release) Brent is accessible by email but he's extremely (extreme-extremely) busy right now and it's Stuart (stuart@advancedvapesupply.com) that handles emails while Brent's is in ramped-up mode. Stuart will get you squared away, hit him up.

That's good to know @Chance2Vape ill hit him up if I need info. I'm going to assume they ship internationally as I've seen on Reddit someone got one in the uk.

I think I will wait, I don't like the idea of paying to be a beta tester, plenty of other gear available to keep me going in the meantime.

I would plan on budgeting the AVS mod in if you really want the ESCC to function like an enail.

My ESCC still works, but in wattage mode it's more like doing a torched dab than hitting an e-nail.
