Dabpress Rosin Plates

Did a 10g BottleTech squish(40mm), 2 presses, 77C, 2,5 mins total(1 min preheat as pressure is taken up slowly on puck) 2500psi(gauge) for 1.48g.:)
2nd press, 105c, 2 mins total, 3000psi(gauge) for 0.56g more for a total of 2.04g or 20.4% return.
The buds were jarred in June last year so I am pretty happy with the result, 1st press top, repress bottom,

Looks so tasty.
I wonder if it budders up too after a while.

That blonde rosin from before makes my mouth water. Can't get much better than that for flower I guess.

It was shatter while collecting and is now pull'n'snap after a warm for a hour, the old bud does not seem to budder as much as newer cured buds like the stuff a couple of posts up in the Motar bucket.

Just finished up my first inaugural pressings on the 10-ton driptech that @psychonaut helped me acquire a little while ago. I've been super antsy to test it out, which made waiting for this harvest even more challenging than usual! Anyway, I pressed the Sunshine Daydream fresh frozen bubble hash I made a couple weeks ago. I followed Frenchy Cannoli's method as closely as I could and only kept the hash from 73-160u bags for pressing, the rest went to edibles. Here's the starting material...

So, I broke this sucker up into a few smaller chunks and double bagged... first in a 160u bag, then a 37u on the outside. Used a directional fold and pressed @ 168 degrees. Without further ado, here are some actions shots! (sorry not sorry for bombarding you, I'm pretty fuckin' stoked about this )

Last pic is after letting it sit on a hot plate for about 20 min, then whipped for a bit. After that I let it come back to room temp, sealed it up, and put it in the fridge where I'll let it cold cure for a week or so.

Also, as you can probably see, I didn't really use the driptech function on the press. I was admittedly pretty nervous because I swear... I always manage to fuck up hash presses somehow. :hmm: It didn't go perfectly and yield definitely could've been better but I'm still pretty dang happy with the results.

Shit... If only 1% of people doing their first press get this result, it is a lot I think.

Sorry, I realized I worded that really badly... :uhoh: this is just my first press on the new 10-ton I got a couple months ago. I did have a 6-ton Dabpress for about a year before that. It's my first time having a gauge and starting with higher quality hash, though!

Question: how do you dry your water hash?

I did what I've seen others recommend and microplaned (or at least attempted to -- this stuff was crazy sticky) and put in the fridge with cardboard and a clean towel around the screens for two weeks.

Dang @superdang9000 Excellent job on your live rosin! What was the final yield based on the flower used?

Thank you, and thanks again for hooking up that refurb unit! I did have some problems along the way, but they mostly came with experiments using paper coffee filters rather than rosin bags at first -- the whole plastic nano-particle from teabags thing got me a little riled up... ended up switching back to the bags pretty quickly, haha. Anyway, I didn't weigh anything out this time, I was just trying to make sure I got all the other steps down along the way. I'll start recording numbers next time, now that I feel a little more comfortable with it.

Absolutely beautiful. Love the color and consistency. I can only imagine the flavor.

Hey folks just a heads up, China workers are on holiday until Oct 8th.

If a product is only available in the China factory warehouse, it will be fulfilled after DHL returns to work Oct 8th. Products fulfilled in other warehouses will ship as normal.

We have a lot of products on Amazon with fastest shipping for North America :D

@superdang9000 Good job with the fresh frozen m8 looking killer

Been thinking about going the wash route before press lately myself / Would love to know more about yields, and also did u grow the herb? ^^

Thanks my dude. I did grow and wash it myself but couldn't really tell ya about yields. I grow for personal use and, especially since it was fresh frozen, I just decided not to bother with weighing anything. That jar will last me 6-8 months pretty easily so I don't worry about it too much. I'll probably start logging some of that info down the road, though, just to give myself some sort of basis for reproducing results I like.

Washing it first definitely adds more work and time to the process, but I think it's probably worth it. Hash rosin feels so clean, and seems to be easier on my throat/lungs.

I'm a little slow on the terminology. When you use the term "wash", you mean after harvesting instead of drying and curing you immediately freeze it then either dry sift it or go through the bubble bags and cold water hash process?

Yeah, exactly! So, in this case, I chopped the plant, trimmed off any fan leaves or larger sugar leaves, sealed it up in 1 gallon freezer bags, then put directly into a chest freezer. A few days later is when I ran it through the bubble machine for bubble hash.

Next time I'll try going directly into the bubble machine during harvest... :brow:
(either that or pick up a vacuum sealer)

To me already the starting bubble hash looks very good. Well done.
It probably could be already dabbed as is, no?

And then pressed: wow! It looks delicious.

I hope I can attempt to do something like that next year. The plant I have this year can only fill a Plenty bowl or two, lol.

On the dabpress: Is there a way to switch the controller from °F to °C?

Don't vacuum seal then freeze before bubble hashing, your pot will come out as a brick and be useless to extract from like that, by the time the block breaks up it is, well, no longer frozen.:2c:
I had been cryovacing and storing just the sugar leaf from 5 or 6 crops and ended up giving it all to a friend to make edibles as it was just useless in the washing machine.:myday:
I would not change what you are doing too much as your results already look great.

edit: sorry for the back to back post

It is around half a year since I got me a 10t dabpress. It arrived from china almost before I hit the order button. It went through customs without any problem or delay.

I chose this model because I like that the pump is separate and I can basically operate the thing one handed if I need to.
I did not get to use it that much, but I press almost all CBD flowers I consume. The rosin of THC flowers generally turns out much nicer in my case, but it is a while I have not squished some.:|

So recently I got a letter from DHL that customs wanted to re-control my purchase. Seems customs in my country are a bit slow.:hmm:
They asked for some documents from dabpress and a copy of my paypal payment.
CS of dabpress very quickly provided me all the needed documents.
I provided all to DHL and did not hear from them or customs since. We will see.

So what can I say other than I am very happy with the unit and the delivery and the help from customer support of dabpress.:)

IDK what country you're from and what leverage they hold over your head, but around here I'd be like "Fuck you, I lost it."

Whoa, I've never heard of something like that happening retroactively. Holy cow, glad it got sorted out quickly, though!

I first was a bit concerned. But due to some lucky circumstances my paypal payment did not show any details.

DHL said if I would not provide the documents I would have to cope with customs directly.
If you do not provide customs with what they want, they fine you.
This way I think DHL did it for me.
We will see.

Just be aware that DHL also takes it's share of your money to do that... When importing my 10t press into Europe, they did do the paper work for me, but charges me 60 euros just for doing that. This does mean you get it a lot quicker then dealing with customs yourself, but I think it is worth mentioning here so you know what could possibly happen. Some might have more luck, I hope so...

@Sick Vape Well good CS supplied you with all the needed documents!

Recently ive had a similar worry that 1 day Dhgate will start reaching out to folk that have been avoid import duty fee / import taxes by faking the value prices to avoid customs in the first place,
-
Our final conclusion in that thread was that it was just me being way too paranoid and also that i had too much time to even think about suchs scenarios, lol :D

However this "kinda" confirms something along those lines could actually happen :p
