Hi all.
Anyone knows if vapefiend is able to provide EU schuko wall plug for Solo 2 instead of UK?
What kind of a charger is it? type of plug?
btw does it come with clear glass stems or black that I see on the photo? I prefer clear.
thanks

Why vapefiend? The official arizer site has the charger for eu, 2 pins
It is just a regular 12v with the yellow pin which gets into the solo
Better using their own but i also purchased a regular 12v at some electronics store and it works well

they ship from US?
If so that's a big no no for us in the EU. customs are savages, especially in my country.

How much custom payment? 17%? So you'll pay 234$ total but you'll get tons of accessories if you reach 200$ at Arizer's website

but also check how much it'll cost you with vapefiend, maybe cheaper

It's oval, not round. 1.811 across the widest pat at the top. The lower half is flatted off so it's less than that down below. 1.398 across the minor dimension. 1.160 front to back and 1.722 side to side across the flats (the buttons stick out a bit).

someone said that they twisted the stem while removing and inserting it and eventually that made the heater loose inside and eventually they started getting either error 5 or error 7

Then I suggest you ask them, AFAIK it's not a common problem........ Like I said nobody seems to be talking 'loose heaters'. Except you.

Between Solo I and II and Air there are many hundreds of happy owners enjoying their units. Probably thousands. And, since the cup/heater doesn't firmly contact the stem and is bolted to the frame it doesn't seem all that credible to me. Solo I has a different seal set up, tipping the stem in the cup is a common way of controlling air flow. Since it tips it seems unlikely to stick to the stem solidly enough to twist with it, doesn't it?

Then I think I must have read wrongly. My apologies. Any tips on safe usage ? I bought my og air in 2015 dec and it's still going strong. 4 good sessions on the red setting. Cant wait to get my hands on the solo 2. 17 more days to unboxing. Will definitely be writing an unboxing and usage review

Damn this waiting is killing me !! Soo excited to get home and unbox that. So glad I have my old air to use while I charge the new solo 2 haha...

No worries. If you know, and like, Air you probably don't need any advice on how to enjoy Solo II.

For longest battery life, 'overcharge' it (say 4 plus hours 'extra' after it shuts down) the first time only. After that, when you can, stop the charge early, say 90 or even less percent from full. Stopping 10% early alone will double the life of the battery pack. Likewise, avoid full discharges. Enjoy a final session when you hit say 20% then recharge.

Since Air has an easily replaced battery, this is not such a big deal, but even taking a very conservative battery management routine will still give you a dozen or my sessions per charge.

Keep your herb fairly dry going in and you'll get vapor faster and the unit will stay cleaner, but you know that already......

Regards to all.

I agree. And I'll add 1 point: wait for the device to get warm before plugging your stem in.

Sorry I didn't understand. When I open the box I assume it will have some charge in it. I do a few sessions and finish the battery and then over charge for 4+ hours or just over charge for 4 plus hours when I unbox it ?

Do the 'forming charge' first. Absolutely. It sets the maximum amount of chemicals available to store charge. The first serious discharge current, even briefly, transfers chemicals the other way and the opportunity is lost.

Do not even 'test' heating, charge first
. This typically 'only' gives a few percent extra as I understand it but it degrades from there so you get that slight advantage from every 'cycle' until it's scrapped out.

You should get cells of this class charged to about 2/3 for storage, same as you should do (don't store them fully charged or discharged). This means you'll need to charge them about two hours to full (the last 10% or so of the charge is at an ever decreasing rate). So 'overnight' is a good rule to follow. A bit more is not a big deal but then again not doing it at all is not the end of the world either. Just 'best practice'.

Some good information on the topic here:
https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

Yes, it's nice to have a vape for company while you wait this out and like all 'mission critical' gear you should have a backup vape anyway?

BTW, many owners wipe the bowl down with ISO on a swab and do a couple of 'burn offs', full cycles at top temperature with the bowl empty, before first use. Arizer does a good job of shipping clean, but this is 'chicken soup' advice, "can't hurt, might help"? I also wash new stems before use 'just in case'.

Also BTW be sure to try the short plastic topped stems from Air in Solo II, a bit harsh but very handy.

Best wishes, enjoy Solo, it's a good one for sure.
