Definitely, stainless steel.

Even the 2mmXL that takes an XL condenser and spinning mouthpiece is actually expected to be used with a stainless steel tip and not titanium tip. I believe all of the glass stems are that way.

Usually somewhere around 8-10 seconds on the first hit, and about 5-6 seconds on subsequent hits once it's already hot. Similar time with my IH.

You pointed the torch at the closest part to the tip, right? "the 220c"?
Had m2018 and i think it took around 8-10s at the 220c

I posted this over where the VapCap Torch Lighter discussion is happening, but I thought I'd post here in case there are some who don't frequent that thread:

It looks like Zippo's taking another stab at Butane jet flame lighters:

You have made my day:). I have a ton of zippos from my cigarette days, guess this will be the only good thing that came out of the smoking experience

@Dynalowrider any tip will work in any stem. The only one that I feel doesn't work well with the Ti tip is the 2mmXL with condenser because it is a tad too short. But @danielj said my spacers are shipping tomorrow that will allow for proper airflow with Ti & condenser.

I have used my Bolle with both tips and find I like it best as my Dynacoil setup wit Ti tip.

That guys stems look cool but I can't open his page. No comments on the comments,

There is also the counterpart for Bic type lighters, the Soto.
A bit pricey, for my money
one could get a dedicated butane “torch” for less.

The strong point for the converter is that Bic lighters are available most anywhere on the planet
For the thrifty/international traveler.

It's funny you mention that. As you brought up the subject of "StabWood", I was almost certain I remembered @phattpiggie making a comment about or reference to it once. I think the only other person that might have mentioned it could have been @danielj

Stab wood stems are gorgeous but they definitely give off an odor. I have 2 beautiful stab wood stems, I love looking at them but I almost never reach for them to use :lol:. I'm hoping in a few months the scent would fade enough for me to throw them into the rotation.

From what I can make out,our friend in Vietnam makes those stems manually using hand tools.

Yeah, I never use my NonaVong XLS without its condenser for similar reasons. That particular stem from dynavap would probably be fine to use without one but I don't want to take the CHANCE of affecting the wood by using it condenserless, anyway.

It would be the same for me, no matter what type of wood was used for the stem.

I could easily Envision a scenario where I somehow accidentally combust and the taste and smell soaks into the wood and becomes a permanent resident, or extremely difficult to remove.

yes, offgassing is why I didnt pursue stabilized wood for stems. The process involves infusing resin...a sort of epoxy ish liquid. Resins can offgas untill they cure, and heating them up again can cause offgassing as well. Im not an authority on this, but did not want to take the chance.

Besides the health factor, the taste of the herb should be as unaffected as possible. There are some woods which I wont use, for these same two factors - health and taste.

Offgassing under hi heat, is aIso why I only use acetals on the mouthpiece end of things. There are hi temp plastics that dont offgas, but at over 100$ a foot!...any takers!

its all about the Golden Rule...and not being a money grabbing asshat! Nobodys perfect, but I am amazed that some folks dont even try...indeed, go out of their way to screw with people to make a dollar.

A thing goin on here is scam phone calls telling people that they are the Social Security Admin - and that your SS number is being cancelled due to suspicious activity...better contact us! ......grrrrr!

And we're heading into that wonderful holiday season where the scam artists come out of the woodwork to Prey Upon the unsuspecting.

For instance, a big one here in my neighborhood is people who follow the mailman at a distance and after he delivers a package, a short time later when they know no one's looking, come up on the porch, take the package, and calmly walk away, as if they own the place!

It's for that reason that I always make sure I have a tracking number for packages that I receive here.

That's an important tip if you're ordering any dynavap supplies or stems or anything else, through the mail, as well.

Get a tracking number and pay attention to it.

No one ever thinks that someone would do that to them until....

Someone does that to them.

Don't be one of the victims of such people, folks.

At this point, I Envision @stark1 popping a tip in the top of a Jack O'Lantern. Cool ass idea for a Halloween picture this year, but doesn't qualify for this question.

I recall a discussion on here about stab wood being no good for stems.

@almost there @danielj yah there is no reason to chance it when there are so many other good clean materials. Even with a condenser I wouldn't feel comfortable. Anything that gives off a smell is no good IMO.

Unless its pot smell of course :leaf:

How about acrylics? With or without condenser?

@stark1 Bamboo Bongs seem to be ok?
