ABV (Pot) of Coffee, extremely simple

I know there is already a cannabis coffee thread, but that one required a lot of things I don't have as a college student. So, to enhance my boring monday I am trying a simpler way of making pot coffee.

I took about 3 gs of ABV and put it in a plastic cup with High Fat coffee mate coffee creamer. I am going to leave that in the refrigerator overnight, then heat it up and stir it in the morning and then strain the creamer through a coffee filter and use the creamer in my coffee. The only reason I thought this might work at all is because I thought it was kind of like leaving ABV in a peanut butter jar for edibles and what not. This may not even work I have no idea, Just thought I would try something new and scary :o

I'd like to see what anyone thinks of this, there's a solid chance I have no idea what im doing :cool:I will post again tomorrow to share the results if anyone is interested!

cool idea.. easy enough too..... i think heating the mix before you strain it would be better.. make sure you wring it out herb really good.. that's where all the good stuff hides... never done cold infusion but from what i understand it at least soaks for a few days.. hope it works out

if you feel up to not straining, it works great haha.. it's a little funky haha.. no big deal though..

bumpity-bump...

What about just adding abv to some coffee grounds before brewing,
would I have to add some fat/oil before brewing as well?

That's kind of what I was expecting anyways :freak:

Im not sure about that working alone.. I know its possible but not very efficient I believe? Don't quote me on it. I'd be interested to hear how it turns out!

Facinating stuff, I'm gonna try ABV coffee creamer. I know this post is old but i need info. The OP said he used 3g of ABV but how much cream?

That’s amazing that it worked. Then again you can infuse basically anything as long as you hear up the mixture right.

Great idea for the growing pile of ABV I have sitting around. Question though; could you maybe draw on that ABV a little longer in the vape device to get more of the goodies out?

Imho the more the better but consider that ABV is already decarboxylated so also no cream should be fine. But if you have your 3g of ABV along with a meal containing fats the effects will take place most of the time and should be more pronounced. I had (preferably light) ABV with no food many times with good results and a handful of times were it didn't work, probably because I had not enough water with ABV and digestion didn't take place.

I've not done anything with edibles or drinkables. Would something like this work for very old flower or would the flower just be too dry?

Okay, so I was intrigued by this possibility as being real. And I am not so sure it isn't to some extent so I will at least add my experience in this test.

I have plenty of ABV and it is a mix of light brown and well baked. Therefore, highly speckled. I also decided to try whipping cream as a fat to infuse into. I did that solely based on preference and eventual consumption preference. I didn't weigh the ABV but it would have clocked in at several grams mixed with maybe 1/3 pint of whipping cream. Mixed up good and stuffed it in the fridge.

Let is stand for a day and a half. Good shake every so often. It was a real mess separating the bits but I got there. Not nearly as clean [read: filtered] as I could have got it if I had some proper means. Save it to say that this can get messy.

Made a hot chocolate and used 2 table spoons of the concoction. No previous vape or anything. And it definitely hit a body high similar to a spiked candy or cookie after some time. Overall, it was a very mild experience. Day later (2-1/2 day infusion) I went for 3 table spoons and this time I got hit with dry eye and tired. Again, free from previous influence. I finished off the batch, did a LB vape and fell promptly to sleep several hours before I normally would. Very restful!

This is my thinking of the process. I am not a big fan of the edibles and I find the effects minimal and less than recreationally beneficial. I do put a trench of ABV on my dinner meal from time to time but that is only because I grind my stash to a powder and that works just fine in the digestion cycle. Basically it is an 'if this works for me medially..." I might as well consume the remnants. But you cannot do that with this method. This ABV is committed and this is it for the raw plant matter.

I am quite certain that the THC component isn't coming through in any heady type effect for me using my process. Yep, got body effects but not overwhelming as this level of available THC should have just knocked me over. The 'tired' tells me that CBD are making it through and I am not sure if CBN or other components are involved. But it really does a nice thing as a sleep medicine.

I suspect this is not actually infusion. I suspect this is the dust of physical plant matter that makes it into the concoction from poor filtering. I know if I went and sent that much ABV back through the vape I've be trying to unpeel myself from the floor. That in no way happened with this experiment.

Will I try this again? Yes! Without a real use for my ABV at the moment, and having it build up isn't useful. I can only consume so much in culinary solutions. But there has got to be a way to improve this process. What are others doing with infusion? Do we need pressure to avoid additional heat? Is my medium just a really dumb choice? This thread shouldn't just die a silent death. I would very much prefer baking my stash to a nice light to medium brown and receive the heavier THC-carrying elements through consuming them.
