Which 18650 should I get?

I'm primarily a Splinter user. I have Samsung 30Q and Sony VTC5A batteries to this point but I have more mod slots than cells and another DNA75C on the way if it does in fact ship. My Fluxer Deluxe induction heater needs three batteries and I'm told the high discharge rate isn't important in that use case. I have a Lil Bud that performs differently with different cells and last but not least I'm in the current Nomad batch.

Ryan likes the brown LG HG2, which he says has been very forgiving in his time stress testing various 510 inventions. Folks here know way more than me about batteries

I asked about this a while ago in the Nomad thread, and here’s what I got:

LG HE 4 work beautifully and are @Dan Morrison recommended cell. The LG HG2 works well also and runs a tad hotter.
My latest Nomad carrier loaded ready to take on the day.

What about good sources? I know there are a lot of non-authentic batteries on places like Amazon

Thanks. I like that tidy little travel case too.

Thanks. Ordered three LG HG2's from imrbatteries for my new Nomad that's about to ship out to me any day now.
Good looking Nomad. This is the third site in the holy trinity of safe vendors I always see mentioned on FC:

My Sony and Samsungs came from them.

Thanks. I’m very much looking forward to this.
It’s been about 20 months since I originally put my name on Dan’s list.

I'm #092 as you're likely aware so a while longer for me. Pretty exciting time to be shopping for batteries if nothing else.

I suppose I'll just get some HG2s as well.

You're next though. Hell, you may get some neat improvement in your model that I don't have

I was curious if anybody had any experience with the Boundless 18650's. Supposedly those are custom chemistry, right? I heard they were pretty quality, like pretty high amp output (25A?) and realistic mAh rating. And they really aren't that expensive direct from Boundless, right? https://bndlstech.com/product/18650-batteries-for-tera/

Sry if this is complete de-rail.

I’m going to order both HE 4s and HG 2s for my not-quite-finished Nomad while the HG 2s are on sale, but I also need a good charger.

People here generally seem to recommend the Nitecores, but because we’re using these batteries in a way we could easily accidentally over-drain them at some point, I’m interested in the features that supposedly test and recondition batteries and hopefully warn you if they’re no longer safe to use.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen these features listed on some chargers, but I don’t remember which and I have no idea how well they work, etc.

If anyone has good advice or links to good advice on that front, I think it would be a valuable addition to this discussion. :)

I have a Nitecore i4, which I've had for several years that works great. However, I think I want a Nitecore D4, because I want all the extra functions like the restore functions that exercises batteries into shape with the slow charge/drain function. What do others here think? Is there a charger that you would recommend above the Nitecore D4?

Hmmm...the XTAR DRAGON VP4 seems to offer a lot more functionality (at twice the price of the Nitecore D4). Opinions?
