idiot question ? how doe one post picture on the forum here....

the title say it all, i wonder how to post a picture on a thread, it keep bugging me for a url instead of a path to my picture on my computer.... do i need to host them on a 3 party picture hosting site for it to work ? if so, why a so convoluted way to post picture....

Gotta agree I have yet to figure how to post an image , copy paste works for me on other sites.

you need to host your image on a 3rd party site first, postimage, imgbb ect.... convoluted and unweildy way, but it save precious server space i guess....

Use postimage.org, imgbb.com or any pic hosting service of your choosing other than imgur or tinypics. My votes for postimage.org because it's super easy to use & you can upload multiple pics at one time.

My vote is for postimage as well, works for me.

Also, no such thing as a stupid question. We all just learning as we go along.

Unfortunately, no.
The site admin is unavailable to update the site at this time.
But the community is extremely knowledgeable and respectful of each other. And the moderators are excellent.
So we just ignore the primitive aspects of the site and focus on Fucking Combustion.

Here’s the easiest way I (personally) have found to post pics:
1) https://postimages.org/
2) upload pic (s)
3) copy the “hotlink for forum” link using copy icon
4) paste link into post
5) post your post

Very curious as I haven't posted images.

If you take a picture with a personal device, like a cellphone, and then go through the postimage.org process to post, can anyone glean personal information from a posted image?

My understanding is that you would need to remove or switch off the personal info from each photo before you put it out into the www if you wanted to keep it private.
