Some burning is at the hand of ranchers who wish to increase the size of farmable land. The jungle springs back very quickly, they say, if left unattended.
That's why it's not being claimed as sourced to climate change by reasonable people. Human burn for land clearing and the fact there is plenty of water in the jungle. However, the sky is being darkened and the amount burning now is almost twice the previous year.

I haven't been paying attention myself, but this may be a big deal.

Happiness is being over 60 and oblivious to fashion. Exhibit A, mega sunhat & compression stockings, on walk earlier today:

When in San Diego, be sure to visit Balboa Park with its 17 museums, parks and zoo. Tell 'em Charlie sent ya. Don't miss a concert from the 1914 Spreckels Organ, largest outdoor pipe organ in the world

Scene reminded me of '60s TV series, The Prisoner

Sonofabitch, missed this show last night

Friggin' freaky, IMO

"Starting at 7:30 p.m. at the open-air Spreckels Organ Pavilion will be a showing of “Chasing Choo Choos,” a 1927 silent movie starring stuntman and comedian Monty Banks. Organist Clark Wilson will discuss and accompany the silent movie on the world-famous Spreckels Organ, considered to be the world’s largest open-air musical instrument."

I've never even entertained the thought of trying not to be an idiot.

Thats how big an idiot I am.

I think my wife would happily confirm this, as would my kids, and my friends, parents, colleagues, acquaintances, strangers on the street, dogs, cats, rodents, basically all mammals. I'm hoping that the birds, fish and reptiles think I'm smart. Surely the amoebas think I'm cool.
