Some of you people need help, only joking I think. :cool:
Marc emailed me on the 26th and said a week or so. Price $200, give or take depending on finish. Now that I seen the design I told him to please put me on the list. Also asked him to send Troy and Payton Penn a unit for testing and reviewing. He is going to as soon as the vaporizers are ready.

Last time with the FW5 i went unfinished, and finished myself with a beeswax based furniture polish. Was happy with the end result.

This time i think i will go finished. It is a more intricate shape, and the wood is touching the herb a lot more. Better to let the professional do it. Just my thoughts. :2c:

I like the idea of finishing it myself. I wonder if he would finish the inner herb chamber and other hard bits, but leave the exterior to us?

Yep, from my communications with Marc last week it sounded like he won't have the FW6 up for sale much before the third week of September. In fact, if I had to guess I'd say it's more likely going to be around the fourth week of September for the FW6 release, given the wait for tester results and subsequent implementation of any final adjustments in response to their feedback. And of course he has to update his website with product specification info as well soooo....gonna be a little while yet I would bet. :\

But remember, with his innovations, and thorough attention to detail in the build process, it's always worth the wait!

I am sure it will be worth the wait.

I think he should update the message on his website. Says "coming soon this summer" we are now in autumn.

Yo summer ain't over until Sept. 23! Seriously though, the plan is to get a couple units out to early testers/reviewers this week, then start taking the first few orders next week...

So just to calm our little throbbing hearts, by "taking the first few orders next week" you mean to say, I would assume, that you will take a few orders each week, then build those three or four, rinse, repeat...week after week. Si' senor?

In effect, if I'm number 30 on the list then my wait to have a brand spanking new FW6 in my hands will be somewhere in the 8 - 10 week range, correct?

Not that I have a problem with any of that, but I just want to put a bit of an "anticipation governor" on the order fulfillment process for those of us who may be "wait challenged".

Go get 'em Marcus! :rockon::rockon::rockon:

Monk Debate

The monks do be debatin’
I got the email and immediately went to the link, but I needed to update the card I wanted to use in PayPal. In the less than five minutes that took, they were sold out. I know more will be available soon but I feel a little gutted missing out by a minute or two.

Missing out on the first batch got me thinking why I specifically need a FW6. Not why I want it, that’s easy. But need it? I’m not sure I do. I have an amazing handcrafted all convection battery powered wood vape already. While it would be awesome to have such an excellent vape as a Firewood for out of the house use, the price of it makes me wary of really taking it out of the house too often because it’s an expensive piece should I lose it, it gets confiscated, it breaks, what have you. I have a Fury 2 that, while an inferior vape to something like a Firewood, makes me far more comfortable to take out on a regular basis. And I have a terp pen coming for dabs on the go. So that leaves me with no significant use case for the FW6, as much as it pains me to admit it. If I’m going to get another vape for in the house use, it might as well be a desktop to take advantage of bigger heaters and greater power.

To that end I’ve messaged Marc to remove me from the list. I still want the FW6 just as badly as I did before, but I’m really working hard to keep VAS at bay. If I don’t have a clear use case, I’m holding myself accountable by not buying.

While I must commend you for your great will power, the good example you're setting for all of us and your commitment to overcome VAS. It's all very admirable, I have but three words for you. "Onboard Herb Storage!" :brow:
