well FFFFFFFFFFFUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's ok to laugh at me...

so, i have gone through quite a bit of bud and shatter but never thought to clean this thing.

i start to clean it because i noticed that even after the shatter tube was out, vapor was coming out of the evo. long, stoned,, stupid story later,, i got the bright idea to take some of those plastic brushes (straw brushes) well, a couple of them melted before i noticed that the first inch or so was completely melted.

and it stunk. i tried to clean out the melted plastic from the bamboo thing and realized that there was a lot of gunk in the hole at the bottom of the unit. i cleaned it out good but i'm thinking its still messed up insside but i cant quite see.

i put the unit in the bathtub, turned it on while holding a fire extinguisher . i let it heat up for a few minutes and the fucking plastic smoke started rolling out. stinky, nasty fuck me, i;m fucked.

i'm too afraid of killing myself and or my guinea pigs as melting plastic cant be a good thing.


i guess i have to buy a new unit FUCK unless you guys have a suggestion. that won't burn down the house, or kill me or the girls.

Could you possibly upload a photo of the evo and the inside of the bamboo.

lol.

the bathtub was dry and empty. i just wanted to put the device in a place where if it started to flame i could kill the fire.

Haha well that makes a bit more sense!
It really sucks about the plastic brush thing,
it's an easy mistake and personally I think this is an example of why I and a few others believe
that vaporiser companies shouldn't even be selling these kinds of brushes to help clean our devices.

That's a very expensive lesson to learn for sure.
I'd try and take a photo of the inside of the bamboo.

If it's not cracked it may be possible to ISO clean the inside with ISO dipped in a cotton earbud.
Though the smell may of stained and not go away.
It may be possible after fully cleaning any visual residue,
to (AFTER THE ISO HAS EVAPORATED) set the cloud to the highest setting and try and burn off the remaining smell.

I don't know as much about the EVO as with the cloud but I believe if someone else could instruct it may be possible to take the evo apart and either replace the bamboo or fully soak it in ISO?

I don't know if vapexhale still offer the ability to replace the bamboo for a fee?

Sorry to hear @stressed. Vapes need a lot of cool down time before monkeying with them :evil:. I singed paper towel in the top of the bamboo of the EVO a number of minutes after it was shut off.

Enjoy the new EVO :nod:. Send your old EVO into VapeXhale and ask for a bamboo replacement; the unit will be as good as new :cool:. With two EVO's you can stack flower and concentrate draws together :evil:. And you can have a back-up EVO or sell it onto another user and get some money in your pocket :peace:.

My EVO has been great in both flower and concentrate use :tup:.

Well, perhaps send the plastic gunked one back for bamboo replacement (they def still do it, its on their website with pricing) and then sell it or keep as a back up.

But that unit is useless with the current bamboo and I don't think you will be able to get all of the plastic out of it for love or money.

It's quiet here, let's hear about the EVO!
Happy EVO Friday everyone :tup:. The EVO continues to impress :love:. I am continuing to lower the amount of flower in the ELB, microdose and learn new things. It seems I pretty sensitive to cannabis and my tolerance appears low :borg:.

With Friday off I got an early start to the long weekend :). I accidently ground to much flower and filled the ELB 1/3 of the way (lid on) and deciced I wanted less, so I took between 1/3 and 1/2 out and ended up with ~ 1/5 ELB of fresh quality Strawberry Cough. I did three 12 second dry draws at 11 o'clock on the dial (~320 F) after only a few minutes of heat soak from cold. It blew clouds which was promising. And it was potent, like really potent :science::evil: .

It was ~ 3 hours until my next short session :). I finished off that ELB off wet at 2 o'clock on the dial (~380 F) with two 9-10 second draws. The effects hit me again :wave:, but it didn't very long this time. So, after another 45 min or so, and before getting later in the evening, I decided to do another ELB with the leftover SC grind. That's ~ 1/6 - 1/7 of an ELB and it wasn't doing much else other than barely covering the bottom ELB screen

. Strong effects too :science:. I wanted to finish that high temp session before it got much later but the effects were strong and I got sidetracked for over an hour :lol:. It was a big experience evening :tup:; I ended up with 9.5 hrs of big experience from the start before calling it a night :science::evil:. Highly impressed and highly recommended. The EVO is so impressive and flexible in use.



I'm really surprised how sensitive I am... and my tolerance is low; that evening experience was from a 1/3rd ELB of flower, total, over 9.5 hours. I'd estimate it's between 0.17 and 0.23 grams of cannabis, could be less too. FWIW, previously I was regularly vaping full ELBs :freak:. It's going to take me forever to get through my flower :o :lol: :leaf:. Just a small pinch off a nug gets these ELB amounts; it really fluffs up in a coarse grinder like the Zeus Bolt with boveda mason storage :love:. Obviously for such potent effects it's a high quality batch of cannabis too :) :clap:. That makes a big difference.

I'm still refining my microdosing volumes/amounts. And I'm super impressed how potent microdosing is for me; I'm still trying different things out.

It's such impressive evape flexibility combined with excellent extraction and power that's why there are so many EVO fans and owners :tup:. Enjoy the EVO and your Friday :peace::leaf:.

More great EVO times here. Yesterday I continued to slowly ratchet down the amount of cannabis I use in sessions. Again I went with 4 sessions total with two small fresh flower loads with the EVO over the day/evening. It lasted me for 7 hours before I called it a night and the total amount of cannabis I used was around 0.15 grams (probably not even 1/6 of an ELB in the first load, and a touch less in the second later load). It was great and very effective :tup:. The EVO is top notch.

It's crazy how potent microdosing is to me :mental::shrug:. I did the same routine and methods as mentioned before, two sessions at two different temps per fresh flower load, dry then wet. I did Acapulco Gold this time in the first flower microdose and Blue dream in the second after ~ 3 hrs.

With the small ELB volumes I am heat soaking the EVO more now, 10-15 minutes is nice and it improves the extraction efficiency :luv:. I can still see vapor on exhales too :).

Today I've loaded up a 1/6 ELB of Trainwreck for a change. I'm hoping for another great day and experience. With the smaller ELB volumes the ELB loading funnel I picked up continues to be extremely useful. New EVO owners should definitely check loading tool options out :nod:.

Here's a question for y'all, what do you do with sugar leaf? Do you put it in the ELB for vaping or not? Does the sugar leaf size matter in how you handle it? I've got some small sugar leaf and it can become a significant part of an ELB load when the total amounts are 1/6 or 1/7 volume. At this point, sometimes I sometimes don't use small sugar leaf, other times I do.

EDIT: I enjoyed that Trainwreck microdose and now 4 hours later now I added another even smaller microdose of Blue Dream. It took that long as it was still a pretty good experience :evil:, enough so that in monkeying around with the reload ELB amount (even tiny pinches are now often giving me more product after grinding than I'm aiming for), I ended up forgetting to put my ELB in the tool for the first time ever and pouring the herb through the funnel onto the floor :haw:. The final ELB fill was maybe covering bottom of the ELB in one thin layer, maybe. It still blew visible clouds at 320F dry on the fresh first two draws :tup:. So this reload microdose of fresh Blue Dream flower from the EVO is great so far :science:. Off-the-charts vape efficiency :luv:, great stuff and evening :leaf:.

yeah this thing was still way too hot to clean. lol

the new one won't be here until tuesday. $20 some odd dollars and it takes a week to get to me. i love amazon!

i am, no shit, going through 3 times the amount of weed and shatter. it's frustrating to not have the evo around. instead of a tiny tiny ball of shatter, i'm using a blob. good thing there was a labor day sale and the concentrates were only $15 and top shelf bud was only $100. :)

so after fed ex held on to this thing for 3 days, i finally got it. i did miss it so.

the light is much brighter. like a lot. i'm not sure if the other one was this bright and just dulled down after use.

all my baskets are tighter going into the bamboo. every one of them. fuck. @ataxian (i like the word, so i use it. it's a very useful word. more so than one would think. )

you would think these bamboo stems would be more uniform. 2 devices bought in the last 6ish? months and one, the baskets fit in and pulled out easily, in the new one, they are too tight.

like tight.

i'm going to contact the company and see about the bamboo i ruined.

OH and i forgot about the whistle. this one has it like the last one. i just inhale easier and or a bit slower and it's fine. hopefully it too will go away after time.

i hardly ever use the glass pieces that you put on top of the evo. i just run tubes through 2 water pipes and a long tube to inhale through. might have something to do with the whistle.

i'm very happy i have another evo as i went through way more stuff than i would have.


i'll mention the tight baskets too. kind of annoying

Got my evo it is the Best vape for me after trying many I couldnt quite afford their precesion honeycomb so I bought a blemished Calyx does anyone have both tha calyx is pretty awesome is the honeycomb that much better I mean smoother vapor and bigger hits thanks

. The EVO isn't the new sexy but it's one of the best premium vapes on the market :bowdown::love:. For hydratubes, the experience reported consistently is that the calyx is one of the least vapor conditioning hydratubes available (less smooth vapor and smaller hits) with a number of happy fans and owners. Owners have reported a difference between the Calyx and Precision hydratubes, and even between all three hydratube options... with the Precision Turbine giving the best flavor (least conditioning), the Precision Hydrabomb in the middle (mid flavor and mid conditioning) and the Precision Honeycomb offering the best conditioning (i.e., smoothest vapor and biggest hits, with the loss of some flavor). Then there is the even bigger Classic series hydratubes with even more conditioning (and less flavor). I can report that the Precision Honeycomb hydratube adds a very significant amount of conditioning compared to dry vapor (Helio) and is much smoother vapor on the draw and in the lungs. Happy EVO Friday all :tup:. After another break during the week I'm in my typical Friday EVO swoon :love:. I was tempted to break out of my microdosing routine and swing for the fences :brow: but I'm happy to report that cooler heads prevailed and I'm currently really enjoying a 1/5 ELB experience of fresh quality Strawberry Cough :rockon:, potent :science:. I didn't get as much vapor on this first session as I usually do. The EVO is so impressively consistent that I can notice these small variables in experience. It's a new nug with a pinch from the bottom so figures in some ways :hmm:. Still, I'm having an impressive experience :haw: now multiple hours in and not long after finishing that ELB off at higher temps with the Precision Honeycomb hydratube wet :tup:. Same methods and temp step as described earlier. I'm a number of hours in now, and getting a fresh 1/6 ELB of Acapulco Gold lined up to roll into the rest of the evening :sherlock::science:.

Here's a question for you all, do you include sugar leaf? This second ELB was probably 1/6 volume and then I added a single sugar leaf more. That sugar leaf was significant in size but it's no cola quality or loaded trichomes material :hmm:. I added it because I wanted a touch more product in the ELB but it's so difficult to pinch tiny quantities off a nug that the easiest and simplest thing to do is take a sugar leaf off :) :shrug:. What are your thoughts :shrug:? I had a different question or two earlier I'd still like to hear feedback on too :hmm:!

I turned it on a few minutes ago, but it didn't turn on. No lights - no nothing :rip: I used it last night (like most nights) and it worked pefect like always.

I'm really quite bummed. I've had the unit for three years and I LOVE IT.

Can I try to fix it somehow? I can't afford an one right now :(

Okay, so I emailed vapexhale and they can't service European customers. I guess I'll take it apart myself then and see if it can be fixed.

Sorry to hear that @vctr. I hope the EVO issue is minor and it's a quick fix. It's pretty basic electronics if you know someone who can test the major components. Maybe even a pinched or detached wire. Don't forget the power cord. Let us know how it goes.

. I guess the EVO community is plugging away under the radar for the most part. I didn't post more on my weekend experiences; it went as it always does, very well :tup:. I continues microdosing and have been trying as little as just barely covering the bottom of the ELB. With less I can sample different strains, which is nice, but sugar leaf really can bump up a small quantity. Here's a microdose quantity from last Friday and it was one of the larger ones, https://i.redd.it/26ry2cshj2l31.jpg. It looks like I might be doing 0.05 g or less; here's a useful picture showing amounts and weights (though I don't know the moisture content effects), https://i.imgur.com/RvQMg61.jpg.

Saturday I did a 1/7 or less ELB of Acapulco Gold, then a few hours later a 1/7 or less ELB of Blue Dream and followed a few hours later again with a 1/7 or less ELB of Afghan Kush (to help me sleep). Sunday took a break for most of the day, starting up in the late afternoon with tiny microdose of Chocolope, followed a few hours later by a similarly small amount of Afghan Kush.

Microdosing is going well. I'm blowing visible vapor on tiny amounts with the EVO when the flower is good quality. As mentioned before, I leave the EVO on for 10-15 minutes before use with microdosing when I can because it provides a better extraction of such small amounts. With large ELB loads (>1/3) I enjoyed not heat soaking the EVO at all (as the load itself was a heat soak/trap).

I'm still cleaning like I've discussed before. I missed one week of cleaning and it wasn't a big deal, though I'm sticking with weekly cleaning (after every three days of use) because it's so damn simple and quick with my setup. If I use VapeXnails I soak them in PBW in an ultrasonic cleaner (warm water). Otherwise I submerge my hydratube(s), Helio mouthpiece and ELB(s) in hot water (on the stove with low heat) in water with a 1/2 oz or so of PBW and let it soak for 10-20 minutes, rotating the hydratubes over that time to account for the air bubbles. After that, a quick rinse and I'm done :) (I do a distilled water rinse of the hydratube to prevent hard water stains as well). I've found the ELBs get so clean this way that I don't even rinse them in hot water any longer when in use and in-between cleanings. I just brush the ELB out with the small brush mentioned here before (thx to @macbill) and it looks immaculate.

The EVO is powerful and has been super flexible and adaptable to my varying use these last many months, giving me the best experiences I could hope for; it's been great :tup::love:.

How's it goin'? everyone. I've been on a month+ long break from the evo.. Prior to the break I was experimenting with combining legal cbd flower w/chronic to combat insomnia. After consuming this way for awhile, I found it incredibly easy to just stop vaping all together. I still wake up in-the-middle of the night but after 5 hours instead of 2-3 so not confident thc was the cause.

My dreams have been unbelievable though.. This morning's dream was my friends and I skiing down a parking garage (wearing shoes), following a custom painted '94 Pontiac TA. When we reached the bottom of the garage it was a train station with a bar. I sat at the bar next to a topless women with the most absolute perfect breasts. I tell you this was an incredible dream because it was like dreaming in 4k resolution. I mean everything was so lifelike. My normal dreams for example are barely in color.. The dream ended trying to find my shoes.

Today, while driving not more than a couple miles into my route, there was a '94 Trans Am broken down on the side of the road. It was a beater compared to show quality one in the dream but I cannot remember the last time I've seen one of these cars on the roads here.

Anyway, I know this is the Evo thread...
Last Fri I did dust off the Evo and consumed a few micro elb's of cbd/thc and watched BattleBots.
And felt civilized again..
