Volcano Hybrid

No, that is just wrong, watch the video closely, the orange outer ring is flexing with little pressure from Bud, my Plenty orange part is stiff, unable to bend at all, it might break before bending

yeah but no one is squeezing the ring like that, you just screw it on the chamber and thats it :-) i broke one of those orange rings on my old Plenty, don´t ask me how i managed it but yeah, there was a fine crack after unscrewing or changing the chamber from the big one to the reducer one, i can´t remember exactly

the filling chamber seems the same to me, i don´t have the Plenty around anymore but the Hybrid chamber is also deep, when you grind the herb fine it should hold more than 0.4

It might be a stoner mechanical fuse, you will only break the outside orange plastic ring bit if you ham fist it somehow incorrectly like the example I quoted earlier. Bud was just saying it does not feel as solid in that department as it could have been, but I like the mechanical fuse explanation.
Nearly $1000 kangaroo dollars for the unit from an authorized seller here(the only way to go) so I might have to wait a while to see if it gets cheaper around sales time.

Hey mate,

Always wanted a volcano and couldn't resist, but the high price made me hesitate, so I left it in the cart at Australian vapourisers for a while and they ended up sending me a discount code to get the sale, well it worked.

WELCOMEBACK10 got me 10% off, dunno if it still works but thought I would share.

Cheers

the Hybrid will be the next big thing when it is "just" an updated, modern version of a classic

Pretty expensive "update."

Like his review or not, it's a fair review with fair criticism and fair praise.

The pointing out of fan noise and mild change and a cheaper part help guide some buyers...

For me if the price was substantially lower and it wasnt so ugly, with that cant miss it blaze orange color, I'd get one. Lol.

You are WAY overthinking this.
Maybe, but deep thinking is often an interesting thought experiment. Many are on cannabis here after all, which can produce deep thinking :sherlock::science:.

Your model would apply to any Volcano...
Yes it would. Maybe it's been done before but no one's mentioned that yet and I've never seen it discussed or posted (though I haven't deep dived and discussed this stuff or this type of vaporizer, as my member profile shows).

I just believe, based on my experience with owning a volcano, that as a practical matter, this is not an issue at all. Maybe a bit interesting as a thought exercise but perhaps that's all.
Owner feedback is always sought after and appreciated; I'm simply participating in a discussion about the detailed aspects of bag use in a discussion forum.

So, I do not want to insult you or be harsh, but do you own a bag vape and is this direct observation you are sharing or....well, like I said, perhaps a fun thought exercise?
I thought I was pretty obvious about that, no. Sorry if it wasn't obvious. If I had one, I would have mentioned my real-time bag experience with the vapor and mixing, and I would have been posting about trying that experiment personally too. I see other posts from members with no bag experience so I'm not alone here. I don't think your question or post is insulting or harsh at all.

The bag may very well mix more than I have been thinking and it may mix faster as well; there's been plenty of qualitative feedback. Real world experience is great. Still, I'm naturally inquisitive and I find more quantitative feedback and results interesting. That experiment sounds very easy, interesting and visual evidence is a gold standard. I didn't think this stuff would be so inflammatory to anyone. It may not be interesting to everyone, but it's also a discussion forum . There's a mix of experiences and interests here.

As for this...well, you are an intelligent adult and can make your own mind up about it, but my view is that even with good moderation, you need a pretty thick skin to operate on internet forums. Just the way it is, right or wrong.
Thx, I'm familiar with the internet; I've been on internet forums for 20 years, and on all types. Thankfully poor behavior is unacceptable here on Fuckcombustion.com; it's important enough that the forum rules are directly linked on all pages and there is a list of very specific etiquette requirements, with transgressors consistently moderated. I'd assume honest feedback is a good thing? I hope FC remains a supportive enjoyable forum. People will build this place up or tear it down and the rules and moderation will determine which way wins. This is a cannabis vaping forum ffs .

Let's talk about the Volcano hybrid. Thx for the review link!

come 4/20 you will get some very good deals on the device, you can get it 15% now if you really want it. i bought mine "used" (was used for literally a day) with reducer chamber for 480€

when comparing to say a Sticky Brick for 160€ the price is still high but you get an premium class vaporizer that will last a long time. you could buy cheaper vapes but seriously when comparing for example the EQ bags with the Volcano bags...well, you get what you pay for i guess

A new Mighty is around 300€, it is also no cheap option. Storz and Bickel is the Apple of vaporizing and was always premium priced.

when you use this thing daily the costs will redeem itself over time

and yes, i respect the review but as i said, don´t fix it if it ain´t broke, so the Hybrid is a good iteration of a classic vaporizer and will remain a great machine for the next years

:myday:With the vape critics code @ vapor.com vapenow15 it bought the price to $594 for me with 2 day shipping. correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t that the ballpark price for the digi bare bones before all this hybrid hubbub? For that same loot I got 4 balloons, a whip, remote control fast heat up similar to the mighty:clap:. I have a herbie which is similar and also the plenty and mighty. This thing is a tank and going to provide me years of combustion free living without compromise. I’ve never tried, or even saw a volcano till I scooped this VC deal and I must say, I’m a fan!

great decision, i am looking forward to your impressions...Day 6 for me and still impressed, i just love the whip, it is like a hardcore version of the Plenty with a whip.

i am also surprised that the dosing capsules work so good, the clouds are thick even with a capsule and the longer i use the device the better the taste. bags are awesome too, you can milk those capsules with a good workflow and get really medicated in like 10minutes, the effects last for 2-3hours. this device is really effective!

as it stands now, i will retire my EQ and i am also thinking about selling my Mighty, i have a feeling that there will be an updated version next year and till then i think i can live without it. i already sold my Plenty as i had no use for it anymore.

Definitely! The Digit has been around ~$600 for about a decade. The Volcano, and S&B products in general have never been "budget" devices, heck the Mighty MSRP'd at $469 when it was released. Even my buddies old Evolutions V7 whip vape (taking it way back for all you OG's) was $500 back in the day - made in USA though - I suppose a lot of the non-Chinese vapes have always went for a premium.

Yeah I think I’m in love with my Hybrid. I thought that I would need water filtration but even finishing off the bowl at 446F my throat doesn’t feel bad. The vapour is smooth. Through the whip is definitely harsher.

I look forward to getting home and using it. Amazing from group sessions when buddies come over.

as i smoked bong for 20 years before switching to vaporizing i love the whip, it gives me near bong like feeling, with a good bowl it really rips! ;-)

Would love to hear some more Workflows for bags and Whip itirations you guys are running.

For little bag sessions I have a 4 workflows, they each contain a bag with 2 different temps. (180C / 184C) (188/192). (196/200) (204/208). Holding for 4 seconds before each blast of air.

For harder hitting sessions with a big bag, I do the same but 8C and usually only 2 bags (180/188) (196/204). Holding for 4 seconds before each blast of air.

Does it ship with the reducer and capsules? Or you ordered it separately?

That reducer really should have been included at a $700 price tag in my honest opinion. It's not going to stop me from buying this vape at some point.
Seriously though, those little extras go a long way to create some goodwill in your customer base.

I agree
It's like buying a BMW that doesn't come with floor mats.

i´ve bought my Hybrid "used" (was used for 25minutes according to the app) and it came with the reducer. i´ve heard it is sold separately though.(costs like 12 bucks)

and yes i agree that it should be included from the start but on the other hand, the Plenty also didn´t come with it.

I wonder how much this replacement cheap plastic mechanical "fuse" costs?
Cheaper than what it screws onto, but the orange ring should just be built better.:2c:

the Plenty also didn´t come with it.
Correct, save your money and don't buy it, a liquid pad on top of a small load works better anyway but S&B did not design these units with micro-dosing in mind.

100% agree that reducer should be free with a hybrid at it's huge price. It's really the best way to enjoy the volcano solo for most people. Default chamber is great for more then one person, or the Snoop Dogs of the world.

The capsules work the same as putting a liquid pad on top, i wouldn´t say that the liquid pad variant works better.

some people like the capsules for their ease of use, clean usage and well, dosing capabilties. you can prepare some capsules in the morning and you are good to go for the day, saves time in the long run.

when putting the herb loose into the chamber with a liquid pad on top you still have to deal with the avb, with capsules you just unload the capsule and put the next one into the reducer.

for me the capsules are one of the best things about S&B vaporizers, i always used them in my Mighty too.
