Once we have some ready for sale there will be a few go out to test just for peace of mind and we'll get some usage videos up. I don't like preorders so no money will be taken until its ready to go to market.

@MAbud I've never had any problems getting plenty of heat into the extracts.
Hemp had a rank taste, organic cotton had less.
@paytonpenn recommended rayon which I'm finding much better.
I put the extract in the middle of a pinch of it and roll it into a ball. Drop it in the bowl and it usually looks half full.
Once the vapor production stops I roll the ball between my fingers to check its all gone. If its in the slightest bit sticky it goes back in for another toke.

I agree about the overload and mess situation with the coil and mine would never clean properly. There was always a kind of varnish left on it that Iso didn't shift.
In the end I torched it and it's lost shape.
I've also found there is a lot less mess in the tip and condenser using a fibre.

@davesmith I know but we are so close so I'm sure we can put up a teaser:rofl:

Maybe I get air leaks too and just don't notice it? I'll pay attention to this next time I rip it. I use a 2017 M for bongs and it's superb. However I'm not a fan of the fat mouthpiece. It's fugly and feels like a cheap workaround. I mean it works but I much prefer my Hydrobrick Maxx for water pieces over my Vapcap. Maybe it's time to get a Hydravong? Time for an upgrade? Let's wait for tomorrow's announcement.
Maybe I'm too worried about air leaks then. I usually try the pull test while plugged with my hand and if I don't have a total seal, I try something else until I do.

I have some glass wands and a second TI tip and cap on order to get around this as I wasn't overly interested in wood options in to water pieces.
Hookah shops have hose grommets,(small silicone cones), that seal up a multitude of leaks. I keep one ,(turned inside out ), in all my 14mm glass joints.
Any chance you can link what you mean? I've found silicone universal adapters on 3dDelta studios site, and Sneaky pete has a universal one I'm considering, but what you're referencing sounds a bit different and might be better for me.

It has been a while again, but I do try to keep up with this forum and it does still move quite quickly.
As I'm sure you have seen we have updated our VonG and it will be released for sale tomorrow.
Here are are a few close up pictures so you can better see the detail we have added in this iteration.

It may not seem like much, but we really did put some thought and effort into this revision as it has been some time since we last updated the VonG. I really did like the NonaVonG especially the incorporation of the 9 sides, so as you examine this new HydraVonG you may find there are some fun geometries and sequences embedded into the design.

In addition to the geometric modifications you may notice a few other changes. I'll go through a few of them just because it is fun and it helps to show what we changed and why.

The airport has been modified in several ways.

First, we offset it in the bore to help induce a more uni-directional turbulence.
Second we utilized the thickness of the wood to include a taper which helps accelerate the flow.
Third, we made the opening less round.

This is where the real fun begins as it imparts several additional characteristics.
First, the length allows for another means of air/vapor ratio adjustment. So now instead of rolling or tapping the finger to modulate, one can slide the finger along the length to adjust.
Second, since there is more surface area as well as the above mentioned taper this new design functions more like a solid state regulator or balancing valve.
In other words the greater the pressure differential and therefore air velocity through the air port the greater resistance to flow which translates to a greater pressure differential across the extraction chamber.
This means it is possible to get vapor production under full draw conditions with the airport unobstructed similar to other devices with the airport partially blocked.
So try using this with no obstruction of the air port and draw as if it were. I think you might find it works differently and possibly better than expected.

Finally, the texture of the device is much different. Not only more grip to assist with removal if it gets a bit tight in the fitting, but a design with an almost autorotation feel to it.

This is beautiful A handcarved look - made with code and tooling. Organic and repeatable. And tactile pleasing I bet. I dont collect stems. I dont even lust after the ones I make. This one I would like to have.

That airport is using perameters that this old flutemaker recognizes and appreciates. Using wall thickness to allow for the outside hole size and shape, to differ from the inside hole size and shape - major factor in wood and bamboo flutes in regard to effeciency and functionality. All to say that this airport design has good, and long standing applied physics behind it from another discipline - not a gimmik, folks.

Nicely done, gang. Hopefully you will offer the stem in the parts section

I just pick-up Mya style grommets at a local Hookah shop. The WPA I use is little silicone washers that are sold to keep ss straws in cups like, Yeti cups. It also blocks off the airport, (easily adjustable,) just the right size to cover the 14mm opening. It really works with a grommet. Doc

Yeah, so this happened. It's kind of a rough style, not entirely symmetrical but feels nice in the hand.
In the flesh it looks like an animal print, I'm thinking Leopard or Jaguar.
