Completely agree, I hate the battery, but using the chassis as part of the circuit was probably the kiss of death.

Never tell an engineer he can't do something...

Yeah it's more art then engineering but very engineery art because it's like "look how simple but complicated it is at the same time!" like a thermal nuclear generator :wave:I can't have anything conductive in the little travel purse I keep my hopper and even though it has a short circuit failesafe, I just don't wanna take the risk of constantly connecting the hoppers terminals

If they want stealth then make it look like a JUUL or a 510 mod because that is wayyyy less suspicious then a PEN THAT YOU SUCK AND BREATH OUT SMOKE!?!?! Only thing that does for me is that I can kind of leave it out but at the same time pray that no one asks to use it..

Anyway I would just use the excuse that it was actually a ecigg but its out of battery .. Half truth there at least

If no one sees you use it they don’t know it makes vapor. It looks like a fancy tool so if anyone asks what’s that? It’s a Freon leak detector for air conditioning work. So few people know what one of those really looks like that they don’t question it.

What do you mean “about removing shipping”?

3) and locking in a sole source situation for something as common as a battery. Yes, they have a high performance battery that fits their form factor, but you can't buy one, haven't been able to buy one for quite some time, can't use them in anything else, and I personally would have preferred a slightly larger vape with a battery I could source from a myriad of outlets.

And don't forget that here in Europe GH batteries changed price from 7 to 14 € from a day to another. Anyway the most sellers didn't have in stock for a long time . I got 12 of them , maybe properly working but I don't know for sure , because my RMA is now about 16 months . Two holydays without the Hopper .

When you have a hopper in repair you can ask them to remove shipping cost if you gonna order something in the store and it will then be shipped back together with the hopper when repaired.
Yeah, like the batteries that haven’t arrived in stock for several months - which I ordered in April thinking my unit would be back from RMA by now. BUT NOOOOOOOOO! HL continues to sink to new levels - wonders never cease.:peace:

EDIT: it’s possible I may cancel my batteries order and ask for a refund to spite them. TBD...

That’s the old cut off your nose to spite your face deal. You’re the only one that will suffer. If I did that the next day they would start shipping.

Edit: Actually my luck would be they would ship the damned batteries and keep the Hopper.

Honestly, HL has already done that to themselves several times, including the latest battery order fiasco. Just saying. Loved my Hopper when it worked, love to bash HL too. It’s a Mickey Mouse operation they’re running...:peace:

Agreed. Really stinks that such a cool product has such shitty support. I have one I picked up used that works quite well and I like it a lot but I don’t trust it to work every time so I have two more new ones I picked up on a close out deal so I will have a backup for my backup as well.

I'm getting to be like a broken record. Maybe a couple of us even know what that is!
'Cause today I'm looking back at the steel case I ordered on 4/20 sale, 2018. They were due pretty soon, had been percolating for a long time. By then the website already said they'd worked on it for 2 years and been through several design changes to reach this level of perfection - theorectical perfection, that is, since there are none in existence. Or maybe one prototype?
Later in 2018 I did get my money refunded on the 2 I had ordered when they answered my query saying, no, the hopper with pfe mounted will not fit in the case. They've since changed the narrative to yes, it will fit. Did they actually modify the design again, like, call an "audible" and change it?
Does anyone hold any hope for seeing this come to market in 2019?
Two-thirds of the year is over, and '2019' is still the best projection?

I'm in shock...quick review. OG GH worked PERFECTLY for 18 months. TBH, I really did get my $$ worth with that baby. Bought another one. Both failed and were sent back in. Both were returned running too cold. Both were returned again. Then I got a notice that the new GH was shipping back to me. However, in the box were both of my Hoppers and the OG GH, which was not supposed to be fixed yet was indeed not. So, mid July I sent the OG one that was mistakenly sent back to me.

And here on 21 Aug they tell me my OG GH is ready to ship back to me. We will see....we will see how well it works. The first one that was returned is usable but far from perfect. I have to run it at Temp 5 for it to really work well and while it works good with a J hook, it won't really milk an FC-188 like the OG did. But it is usable.

I'm hoping this one...the OG one...runs a bit hotter...like it did when I first got it (please, please, please vape gods).

I also got the "if you want anything else, put it in your cart and we will give you free shipping and ship it back with your GH" offer. All I want is batteries but they are out of stock. So, I put four into my cart and asked them if they can fulfill them...cause I don't want to lay out $56 and sit around waiting for them to get batteries in stock.

I did get this:

"Your Hopper is now in final testing. We've upgraded problem components to our newest versions and are now ensuring the device operates properly. At this time we require every user to verify their address is correct and there is nothing else we can do for you at this time. You must reply to this message in order for your Hopper to be sent out.
Like I said, we will see. They said this the last time and I still have flickering blue lights when drawing and like I said, Temp 5.

What I don't get is what's up with the folks who have been waiting like 11 months or more for their RMA hoppers. Do people still have devices with them that have been out that approx length of time?

Best of luck with the new one!
I have one with them just past 12 months last week. On Sunday I wrote a lovely note to support via the warranty dialog, announcing the anniversary and pointing out how far wrong the previous 2 projections (IN THAT THREAD) had been and wondering if they'd like to venture a new guess. I also pointed out that I'm a 5-hopper customer.

I don't get it...I really don't. Neither of mine stayed in that long...not nearly. In a year, they ought to be able to gnaw a new one out with their teeth and send it to you. I mean, a YEAR!!

I bet they lost it. sigh

Oh no, there must be a lot of us in this or similar boats. We're on a schedule!
I got this Company Update on July 11 and look forward to seeing mine in 1-2 months now!
I also have another one that's in the "2-5 Months" group.
It's so reassuring to have this to hang my hat on:

Warranty Backlog:
We have made substantial progress through some of the months with the most units in them. We are now starting to enter June service with May 2018 devices finishing up in the next 1-3 weeks. June through October units are now slated to finish within 2-3 months. If your unit does not require a chamber assembly swap it might be done sooner. We know the wait has been incredibly long and will now offer anyone who would like to trade their warranty for a brand new unit can do so at a 50% discount. You can request this on the warranty portal. This is just another option and not necessary to receive the promised upgrades

ME! :bang: I’m now entering my 12th month of my only unit in RMA-ville. And I have little confidence that it will come back working as new - or that I get all the original parts back. I’ve read horror stories herein about folks getting different parts especially backends which have the serial number.

Consider yourself lucky with the crapshoot that is HL - there is no rhyme or reason how the operate. I can’t wrap my head around their parts inventory, lousy quality control and lousy customer service.

I’m giving them one more week and then I’m asking for a refund for my battery (and silicone tip) order if the batteries don’t arrive. Screw their ‘free’ shipping...:peace:

One of mine was doing that. I kept fiddling with the button and cleaned all of the connections and it eventually started working again. Good luck!
I sprayed the heck out of the back ends of both of my Hoppers with WD40 Specialist contact cleaner and they are both working better. I was going to RMA my newest one as it wouldn’t even power up. A good cleaning and it is working great again.

With this thread picking up again I thought to myself, why not pull one out and try it, just for the fun of it!

My SS returned from rma running, but so cold it's useless. My Ti was always hotter and milked like a champ, but hadn't been running correctly for some time. Maintaining the batteries had been a pain but.....

Found my Ti and after it's rest it's hitting like a champ again, but tastes like :shit:

I guess I forgot about how they get gunked up because they hadn't worked in a long time.

It'll be fun for a while, maybe it's time to send them in, some are getting theirs back in decent time...
