A new look and feel for my M17.

I am a repeat hitter and sometimes the metal VapCaps get pretty hot. However, I like the metal tip better than the wood vong on my lips. So, I took my M17 and I added a wood sheath and provided an air port. I wrapped a few laps of parchment paper around the M to snug up the fit perfectly.

Works great. Has a little better feel and never gets hot.

I posted this to reddit but figured I'd share here as well:

I had a chance to see the Hydravong over the weekend at the FAM show in Madison, and I was really, really pleasantly surprised to see there's far more to it than look.

First, it seats into glass joints better than most previous vong models. I haven't had any issues with the previous iterations, but it is nice to see just how well the new shape seats.

The real magic, IMO, is in the new pattern. The piece rolls effortlessly between your finger tips, and is hands down the easiest to to manage rolling back and forth consistently during heating. It also feels really, really great in the hand - honestly shockingly so. The team really knocked it out of the park there.

Finally, the way the airport is set and inlaid on the Hydravong is also much, much easier to feather due to just how easy it is to slightly roll off your finger and back - again, all part of the new pattern.

Beyond that, I have to say thank you to the entire team that was at the FAM show and gave my father and I a really generous amount of their time. He really had a great time, and it was a thrill for me to get to bring him to his first trade show and get him more acquainted with the industry.

You guys were beyond kind and generous and I can not thank you enough. So, so proud that this team is from my home

OH - and also, there are 100% at least two other very, very cool developments coming from the crew this year. I am not comfortable saying what those are just yet as I believe it's still unannounced, but I was very happy to see them.

I’m surprised that people think the Nonavong looks better than the Hydravong. I love the gnarled look of the latter. It’s like Gandalf brought me his personal vaporizer.

I can’t see spending over $100 on either of them though (I’m not interested in the shorty version without the mouthpiece).

Completely agree with you. The hydrovong looks like it could have emerged from an artisan woodcrafter's shop. Not dropping money on it though.

Nice wood cover! I'm quite partial to a to a stem that is wider near the tip end, I find it easier to spin while heating.

He mentioned that this was going to be released. Pretty sure that Phattpiggie's multi-tip stem was the inspiration.

Was it functionally superior when it comes to cooling the vapor. It seems like they are using technology similar to whats found in the vortex stem (and to be fair, this tech has been previously used in other 420 applications). If so, then I would imagine that this feature will roll out to the Omni and an Omni refresh is most likely on the horizon.

Just from the update that we received earlier this year from George, a release of the IH this year is definitely happening. Timing is everything for a product release of this nature. No way, they are going to want to miss out on this year's holiday season. Once it does release, I will be curious to see what happens to the IH market. One thing to consider is that it is extremely unrealistic for DV to come out with an IH that will run off of replaceable 18650 batteries so the likes of the Fluxer will still remain relevant it seems.

So as non-DVDC, I would guess the two surprises to be an Omnivap refresh (maybe even with new anodization runs) and a portable IH.
