@710Coils Honestly its been amazing watching your business grow! I first saw this thread a month or two after it started and followed it for awhile before I made the decision to join this magnificent cult. Its great to see that an honest person was able to make it this far in such a market. Its even better to see that they are expanding to meet the market. I look forward to perfecting my dabbing experience with you guys.
@maxymods inserts came from the torch side and were used to help people hit that happy temp even though their banger might be hotter than preferred. With the enail they are more for keeping your banger clean than anything else. You can still get the same style dab as you would with using them with a torch. but you would want to turn your temps up to speed the heat saturation up. Some will give it a full 60 seconds to saturate and others will increase the set temp to speed that process up to be 30 seconds or less.
If you are dabbing Rosins or bubble hash type material, you will have a lot of residue to clean up and having the mess contained to an insert is clutch for some that prefer their bangers stay pristine =)

It's basically the complete opposite!
I just personally find static temp dabbing with a coil to be too hot/harsh at the speed I like to finish a dab, otherwise it just takes too many damn hits. With the down temp I ride from about 450-475 (on the floor) and finish off around 400. Smooth as AIR, and can crush them in one big rip.

Thinking about pulling the trigger and joining the 710 club, looking for some feedback about parts.
For now I only have access to rosin and ice water hash. Also i'll be using a torch + IR temp gun for now, might pick up a PID at a later date.
I'm looking to get the 25mm opaque banger (small dabs here), quartz pi cap, and inserts since it seems it will be easier to keep clean, especially with rosin/hash? How are the opaque bottom with hash?
Anyone been using pearls with a torch? I'd like to try it out, what kind of pearls should I get? Saw most recommend the SiC pearls.
Anything else i'm missing?

I would wholeheartedly recommend the clear quartz for rosin and water hash. Truthfully I would suggest just splurging on a gem insert, so fast and easy to clean up solventless, and the heat retention will make a considerable difference when torching.

@gimmiemore you pretty much have it nailed. Only thing I'll say is, I initially boarded the opaque hype train but have since gone back to clear bangers. They're easier to clean and better for pairing with an insert, IMO.

I really enjoyed going from a torch to a coil. I like to do small low temp dabs and torching took me forever among other problems I had doing it. I had kind of given up on quartz bangers until I saw those sweet, sweet axial coils @710Coils kept posting pics of.
I also agree with @FlyingLow about sic, I'm excited to hear how it works. I used to love uptemping with my old dnail halo.

Whenever using inserts, SiC will have not benefit. It is only good when dabbing directly onto the surface and will get dirtier than the clear bangers will.
Cant wait to test out the SiC inserts and hopefully get 25 and 30mm versions up and made to spec =)

Fine! I find something else to buy!
Looking forward to receiving my coil banger and cap today and testing everything out tonight or this weekend. Could not afford an insert at the moment but hopefully will pick one up if everything goes well although I feel like some new material or version is always coming out so we'll see what happens. Here's hoping the coils works with my existing controller so I can actually start using it and not have to spend more money.

So is there a general preference for opaque vs clear when using ruby inserts and coils? Does it even matter? Finally life has slowed down enough I should be able to afford the 25mm set up soon and debating which nail type to buy. Seen a few people who use to swear by opaque switch back to clear. Not sure if it makes much difference when using an insert and coil. Just wanna be SURE this time cus I’m still mad at myself for going with a 30mm instead of 25mm, been staring at this insert since the beginning of the year and haven’t used it ONCE! Still using my 30mm opaque + coil set up daily and still loving it, just feel it’s time for an upgrade to ruby dabs lol.
@Kanna_Kult when using inserts, most prefer clear bangers since they are just saturating the insert with heat and the opaque has no benefit when used with inserts.

So you can't really uptemp it, but it should be good for dropping in right? I always thought it was amazing at soaking up heat quickly which the quartz should have a lot of?
I had been putting the ruby insert in my opaque, then using the opaque while cleaning it, then switching to my other opaque while cleaning the previous one et cetera. I'm going to try out my clear banger with the insert and see if I like it better, though it being the same would be great too. I'm not sure why I never thought of trying it before...
Now I can clean less often and be lazier!
I have been using my DNail SiC Halo exclusively since getting a Dabpress and have been having trouble coughing after every dab except when I load the dab onto the hot surface before inhaling and seem to lose a bit of vapor doing it this way.
I pulled out an older 20mm opaque bottom quartz banger(cheap $10 job) and Menovo PID controller and have been able to draw as I load the dab, carb cap to spin pearls, clear the bong and not even feel like coughing?
Swapping back and forth between the 2 I think the Ti in the Dnail is effecting flavor as well as making me cough...not sure.
What I am sure of is I think I like the flavor of quartz more, is this common?
I think I might have to get a decent setup of Shane as I am preferring a $10 el-cheapo banger over my multi-hundred dollar Dnail SiC.

The cleaning aspect (and toughness) was the main reason I went the SiC route to start with but I could see inserts in the 30mm banger could make swapping and cleaning very easy.

I could definitely see that.
That was 100% my experience as well.
Pretty much, many have gone from SiC to quartz including myself, but ultimately end up with a ruby/sapphire insert (which has its pros and cons vs clean quartz).
You definitely do! I made that exact same conversion a long time ago, and could NEVER go back to titanium in my setup.

I loved my Menovo for that reason. I got my pinouts backwards once or twice when re-soldering a few NewVape coils to use with it, and thankfully only blew the fuse rather than the whole controller.
That's the only real downside to the Menovo controller, it doesn't play well with the majority of coils out there nowadays... including the ones from 710coils. I spent a lot of time soldering coils for all my devices at the time (like the Flowerpot/VRod, slim DNail, axial, etc) to work with the controller. I ultimately settled on an RDK-300 and go through 710coils for my coil needs. I like the idea of having a (somewhat) more standardized pinout. You could re-wire the Menovo itself to use that pinout, it's not terribly difficult but there's definitely a chance for error.
Anyway, my preference goes something like this: titanium < dirt < SiC < quartz < sapphire/ruby.
I kid of course, but I don't see myself ever going back to using titanium anywhere in the air path for the same reasons you mentioned, and definitely prefer plain quartz over SiC.

@LesPlenty I only carry the one pin layout that Dnail and others use. But do not offer any other pin layouts at the moment. I have had a few others also rewired their coils to work with their controller. I can also offer anyone needing an updated controller a good deal on the budget boxes I have for sale =)
