Thanks for the IG links guys I hadn’t seen those.
What a shit thing to happen but I’m happy Enrico keeps on smiling & I guess he’d be happy I keep on subbing.
That 1hr timer is a pain but the 3hr is perfect for me.
My XLR has been running about 6hrs a night for 2yrs & isn’t showing any signs of ageing.
I’m really looking forward to shopping on the new site.

All my days in a daze...
The Orion def looks interesting, hope it's as good for flower as the Apollo.

My SS Apollo has been my daily driver for my wife and I for 5yrs or so and it stays on nearly constantly while at least one of us is awake. Honestly I'm amazed with how reliable it's been, it hasn't even lost heating power (I'm still using the same setting as I always have).

We had an old school Cloud and it was great also but we broke the bamboo.
Had an Evo and didn't feel it lived up to old Cloud let alone Sub.

I also have a Flowerpot Showerhead and it's VERY good, very. But it still doesn't hit with the impact of the sub and it uses more material so it's relegated to back up duty for the moment.

Very happy to see Enrico back at it and I will be buying an Orion as soon as available.

Apollo is still my daily, with a nice simple glass bubbler its my favourite interface. Its been going strong for years. The evo shared the desk but I got sick of elb's and my tight bamboo ruined them so quickly I gave up on her.

I do run the sub one temp notch higher than I did 5 years ago, but not bad considering its only ever been off when I'm at work or asleep for the past 5 years +.

I do think about the FP like daily but keep reading it doesnt quite sub ya. Will get a new sub if the company gets their act together by the time I decide to replace.

The 1 Hr timer is the only reason Id bother getting another desk vape, everything else is sweet. Kinda says it all really. Oh and the cleaning is a bit excessive!

Sub weed erryday!

Although i own a FP and will probably not get a sub very soon because it is not practical as a daily driver for me right now, i am really happy to see the news and hope the new sub will be a sucess!
After all, it is a real high quality and heavy hitting vape "power tool" made out of high quality materials in europe and is designed to work good and last - we need more of this sort of products and less chinese made cheap throw away stuff...

But perhaps i have to get one nonetheless...... :science:

Gee that website is clunky on mobile. Hopefully it’s better on desktop I’ll try later.
I can’t really see very much of the Orion & no pics of the electronics yet.
I’m not sure I understand the chamber size options & what the belt cover does.
Will the Orion be an upgrade for flower users or is this more for concentrate users?
Looks like the atomisers have changed, still two pieces but with no titanium option. I still wonder if there was ever a titanium atomiser made.
Pre orders only open for Canada at the moment so I’ll just wait & see for now.
Good news that they’re back & it’s great that people can get some after sales support again.

I still have issues to this day. Got a rude email from enrico today saying was I the guy said about stainless Being different tolerances when made. Was abrasive tone . They offered me a complete upgrade back then and now it’s ORION , I asked and get a rude reply. Guess what sublimator I got all emails to prove I been polite and suggested improvements, I had three returns rma. So if you fancy an Orion remember the customer service issues several of us had back in 2015.

seems like its more for concentrates from what I've read. Also the only titanium atomizer I know of was with the eliminator ( the torch powered sublimator) but from my experience the stainless steel atomizer was better especially for flavor with flowers.

Good to see everything is looking perfectly normal at the Sub Station tonight

It's my Sub's 6th anniversary coming up this March, so I thought I'd show a little love.

Man, this thing is an absolute beast of a workhorse, I love it, and although I've been using it for the past 6 years, hits from the Sub never get old.

Good times.

:peace:

I have a Dabmaster XLR which has 2 pin connector. I was reading about how people on OG Sublimator thread were ordering replacement heaters.
Has anyone taken this unit apart? Pics?

I assume this unit has the 0.25" x 1.5" round cartridge heater also but i am curious about where I marked with ??... seems like that might be an empty cavity where a coil could go? Or is that where the heater is on this one?

Or if anyone has a broken one they want to donate so I can have someone take it apart and see if there is a better solution? Really want to get it hooked up to a 5 pin controller/power supply. And if someone has already done all this let me know. I didn't see it in the thread. Thanks

Not sure if this link is for the same version, but it's similar enough, and the post detailed with photo links which could be very helpful

Clearly you've seen it.

It should detail the XLR connector disassembly. Otherwise the '??' you've pointed to is where the head and handle screw together. You should be able to twist off the head exposing the heater casing, similar to the photos in the linked post. I've never disassembled my XLR Dabmaster further, but it might be able to come apart depending on how they've assembled and attached the heater core. It should be possible to jerry rig something, all you need to do is heat up the metal mass and the device should function. You could probably attach an external coil quite easily

Yeah, I am not looking to jerry rig anything... I prefer to remanufacture into a more useable form. And I'd rather not destroy my heater since I am pretty sure it still works. But as of now I have no power but I have hope one day maybe I will find a new power source. And I have no idea how similar these different models may or may not be.

Hence the reason behind this post. Without knowing for sure what I may/may not discover, I am hoping someone else has the information I seek before I go on an easter egg hunt. Everything I have read in the over 300 pages suggest the fragile nature of what lies inside this unit which has a weld I will have to cut/break to take a peak.... so until I have a plan, I am not willing to sacrifice my potentially still working heater..,, fingers crossed and I find someone who knows

Hmm, if the heater is still working then taking it apart does seem unnecessary. Sounds like you just need a controller to power it?

Maybe someone here has a spare one. I have a broken Monkey Controller. I should have been more careful, the DC jack Solder joint failed and I kept using it, eventually blowing up a chip. Don't think it's easily repairable, but I could take a look. I contacted warranty, and nutralife or whoever previously owned the brand sent me a replacement free of charge which was very good of them.

By jerry rig, I think wrapping an enail coil around the sub wouldn't be too difficult, or you could look at Solder iron cartridge heaters and food grade thermal grease or something like that interfacing with just the head removing the handle and heater core from the sub itself. You could also hit it with butane. Overall it's a fairly simple apparatus.

Such a pity that the best vape hardware is so difficult to obtain, wonder what's going on with the Orion.. Weird industry, not very professional or skillful in many ways. Makes it hard on the consumer when no one delivers the goods.

Hopefully someone will see my posts here and elsewhere and I can move forward. Then I can get a plan figured out within the next few weeks... we'll see... so many people, someone knows..... I just have to cross their path.
