It looks purely aesthetic to me, but I guess we have to wait until next week for the “full launch.” I’m not a fan of dragging out product releases like this.

Honestly it’s a joke. To hype a release like that over a slight change in stem design is crazy. I love DV and love all my pieces but they are getting stagnant. They are trying to make minor incremental updates seem like a big deal, but the reality is it’s been multiple years since they had any real innovation

Horray ... cant wait for Aug 22nd ... (sorry for the re-post :whoa: ... got over excited and forgot to check)

interesting looking? yes
functionality? perhaps

If true, I am guessing that the exterior design has something to do with how much you have to pull up on the vong to evacuate a waterpiece...and how efficient that evacuation is. I see no reason (from a vong perspective) to have a spiraly mouthpiece if it is not a channel to let air into the bong. When using the hydraV standalong, the spirally mouthpiece may introduc external air right at the lips, but I dont think its that - the airport has its function.

my vote for an evolution on the interior would be "Spirally" on the inside of the stem, and a
a complimentary spiral rifled condenser barrel....talk about creating a vortex! Our lungs would have the power of a black hole!

you know, there is only so much inovation you can do, and still maintain the"parts are interchangable" thing DV has going.

Hey George...what do I get if I guessed correctly:)

Yeah i agree with you, but less a joke than last week flashlights !
Their latest release are so gimmicky ... we just need an IH from them. The rest are superficial add-ons
They should focus seriously regarding r&d new “interesting” products & accessories ...

Guys in my opinion The OmniVap is PERFECT as it is.
I just got a new Omni XL 2019 for my GirlFriend and I noticed that the terminal and the Cap are slightly different (i own a 2017 Omni XL).

All the parts are still prefectly interchangeable with my 2017 model.
So if I need to upgrade/change 1 or 2 parts I'm perfectly fine.
This is what i expect from Dynavap.

My 2017 Omni still looks almost brand new

I will soon change my Omni 2017 condenser cause months ago i slightly damaged it during a cleaning session, put too much power on it :bang: (still works 100% perfect). Every mistake is a lesson for the future guys. Enjoy your mistakes.

PS If you have a "compulsive purchases" and want a new toy, you are just a kid IMO.
Go suck your own inch baby :tinfoil:

Are you trying to hit it while heating? Otherwise there is no chance you are inhaling butane.
I've been using Dynavap vaporizers for a couple of years now, and I've never tasted butane.
What kind of butane are you using? What kind of torch?
Hi, no, obviously don't inhale while I'm heating it up!
I use a windproof lighter, it's a cheap lighter and the gas is an ordinary gas for lighters. Nothing special.

The little magnet that is in the end of a dynastash bocote tool fell off the other day.
Anybody had this happen?

Should I just use a little epoxy and glue it back on/in??

Also anybody notice a difference in the newest Ti tips/ cap?
They seem a little thinner/slicker. Like caps don’t fit as snug anymore
Maybe it’s just me and it being new, but I own quite a few vapcaps. This newest tip seems a bit different.
Even putting an old cap on the new tip it still feels looser.

My first ever Vapcap is set to arrive with Canada Post any moment here today, so I can't weigh in from experience, but the note below is on DDave's glass water wand page as a warning when ordering.

Ti Fitment Note: Recently, it's been discovered that there are two different Ti Tip Sizes.. One that is 8mm (newer) and one that is 7.9mm or slightly smaller. Since we do not have your Tip for a size verification at DDaveMods, please understand that you are responsible to know which Ti tip you have before requesting the Ti size. To help you determine the right size, DDave Mods would like to let you know that most hardware stores have a "bolt sizing template". You can bring your tip to the store and see if it fits in the 8mm template. If it fits, you'll be good to go with an SS tip. If the 8mm template opening is too large for your tip, with orings installed, then you should request the Ti water wand.

It appears there is a slight variance in Ti tip sizes if that's to be believed. Put me in a bit of a jam and wasn't comfortable ordering until I have my tip in hand.

You can be your cap’s main squeeze for a snug fit?

more tip size variations?

I knew that the SS tip is slightly smaller than the ti tip. I will need to measure my ti tips to assertain whether they are all the same.

I wonder if DV is casting their ti tips, rather than machining them. That would make sense from a production standpoint. Ti shrinkage of up to 1.5% can occur if cast. An 8-7.9mm variance is a bit over 1%. If the tips are machined, I would think that a tolerance of .1mm (.004") is a bit sloppy for a cnc machine

The DDave warning states that using a 1.2 mm o ring instead of a 1mm, may solve the fittage variance. We may need to stock up on this additional size o ring. I believe the size would be a 6 x 1.2 hi temp O ring

At the risk of sounding like a fan boy: but what do you want to see? Personally their products are perfect for their use. Aside from making adjusting the TI bowl easier and more reliable/less flimsy, I personally don't see much room or desire for improvement. So cosmetic and minor things are fine in my book. Better than releasing a purposefully gimped product and then release the same thing with "10% improved air flow" every year just so they can claim something was improved and resell it to you

Maybe submit a suggestion to them on their site or post yours here

Land of the long vapor cloud
This week I have been trying to make myself a wooden stem.
Yesterday I finally produced something functional.

I don't own a lathe, so I've been improvising with a drill-press, or as they say around here "using a bit of No. 8 wire"

A - made from reclaimed Kauri, used to be a TV cabinet.

B - made from Fejoa, this one is my fave.

C - I don't know what wood this is, had it lying around, its quite light in weight, a bit brittle and oddly large/loose grained.

They are all carbless and are meant to be used with a condenser, a la puff puff mouth draw styles.

They certainly aren't perfect, had lots of fun making them though.

Disagree, I think the dynacoil is a real innovation. It’s deceptively simple. Better than stainless steel pads, IMHO, and just works beautifully. That said, not everyone uses concentrates, so maybe feels less like a big innovation than other things.

Just found out that ^this^ SexyBeast is mine, I saw it on IG & here earlier and didn’t even dare to dream but turns out the dream is true! Opted for a condenser-less as well as no airport/carb Finster XL, and if I’m honest, I really DO feel like just a kid! I don’t consider this to be a negative thing at all, but that’s only my opinion...

Also, I gotta say that dealing with Andy is a pleasure. Good communication, no bullshit, fair & upfront dude. If you’ve been waiting to hear from others’ experience, that’s been mine and no regrets. Now I can’t wait to hold it, hit it & see what it’s all about and I’ll let y’all know what I think about that experience too. I knew straight away that it was the Finster but I really like all his designs and the clean aesthetic they share. Now that he’s making these killer pedestals too, it makes me excited about the future of Andy Capp Creations.

While I certainly would never judge anyone who happens to have more than one Vapcap, this is my last one. I’ve got a handful of nice examples and don’t really feel the need to add any more to my modest collection...

...unless I decide I need another heirloom piece from @phattpiggie :D Never say never, people!
