I love the look of these vapes. I always want to possess them, they are such works of art, and the spirit of nature, moves me, everytime. For now, they are just a dream.

The whole batch looks fantastic! I’m pretty sure mine’s the last one in the list that doesn’t have a collar yet (it’s a Box Elder burl).

Dan hasn’t told me when he plans to finish it, but I’m guessing he’s going to knock out the easy ones first so everyone else doesn’t have to wait. Mine’s going to be time consuming, but I’m confident it’s going to be worth the time and I think you guys will like it too.

Wow, how have I never heard of this before? It's gorgeous! How does one go about getting on the list for future batches?

Welcome, and good choice going with the Nomad .
I love mine.
Flavour is absolutely first class (the best portable I own in fact).
For a 'stick shift' manual convection vape, ease of use is great.
Versatility is very very good, as you have a choice of heaters, all of which perform well, and there are several loading options available in the stem (and even wooden stems if you look around).
@KeroZen very kindly sent me a stainless steel stem and it works very well too, so if he, or others decide to pursue the manuf' and sale of these, that would add yet another option!
Kero has said to me that he's unlikely to make more unfortunately, but perhaps someone else might take up the challenge?
Or maybe Kero will change his mind if a discrete and easy way to take payment were to present itself? :brow:
Or perhaps something else to label the stems as would be sufficient? (pen parts, bearing sleeve or something?).

To get on the waiting list click on @Dan Morrison and then click on "start a conversation" to send a request.
BTW, all these partially completed bodies that have been posted are all (unsurprisingly) looking gorgeous.
I need to find a way to finance a second Nomad!
I keep thinking that if I join the list now, that I'll maybe have a way by the time my name comes up again!
I fear that once pics of these bodies start to emerge with collars I won't be able to resist .

BTW, who else has decided to pay the small surcharge and go for a non-standard collar?

In fact I assumed @Dan Morrison himself would have added SS stems to his accessory catalog, provided there was enough demand. But so far there are only 6 in the wild including mine, meaning the interest is very marginal it seems...
I'd imagine that the marginal interest is simply due to there being so few Nomad owners out there so far, and I guess even less that are aware of the stems?
The glass stem is very well held, and fairly well protected in the Nomad, but it's definitely good to be able to carry a vape without any glass at all.
The little extra bit of cooling provided by the SS is welcome too, but does require a touch more attention to avoid scorching than the glass.
I find flavour to be almost as good as the glass stem too.

Sadly, dankruptcy is almost upon me, and it's looking like it might be an extended period this time , so further testing of the Nomad, and the KeroZen stem will be shelved for a while :disgust:, dammit.

I haven’t seen this option, at least in Dan’s “So ya wanna get a Nomad” email. If additional/other material and species options are out there, are they listed or shown somewhere? I tried to be fairly thorough going through the thread but maybe not? I just scanned the inspiration/conceptual beginning up to where I thought the discussion centred around the final product, so I could have missed some changes and additions.

I’ve spent a little time thinking about papers & various combinations for my Nomad but not a lot, since I figured there’s plenty of time to obsess over it when I get closer to the front of the queue, like sometime next year. I plan on getting a glassblower to make some special stems for me. One of Dan’s early sketches had a curved mouthpiece that I really liked and I think a golden-fumed glass one might look really cool. Definitely going to get a wooden stem from Ed as well... so much money to be spent!

Dan sent me a sketch of a selection of different stem designs that he had suggested to another sustomer.
Typically, can't find it now , but I guess that if you contact @Dan Morrison he'd let you know whether they are still an option.
I can't even remember how much extra it was, but it seemed pretty reasonable at the time.
I went all in on options, and definitely don't regret it!
I chose #15, out of about, maybe 20 designs I think.
Apologies if stem options turn out not to be something Dan has decided to offer as a wider thing, but I'm fairly certain that he'd made it public knowledge.
I thought the best ones were the one I chose (natch'), the 'standard' one, and the 'organic' one chosen by someone else, which IIRC was inspired by the gills of a mushroom (one of the other custom Nomads from the second batch I think
But they were all pretty damn cool.

Fancy glass stems sound like yet another cool addition, I look forward to seeing what you get

Great info - thanks! Yeah, I prefer convection vapes, and I love the stick shift analogy - those are the types I prefer. I enjoy getting to know a vape, and how it operates, and being able to really dial in exactly what sort of a session I want that evening.

Really looking forward to learning more!

A lot of the custom stuff people are getting aren't technical options, but it definitely doesn't hurt to ask Dan about any ideas you have in mind!

This was in an early email from Dan, I can't vouch for it still being accurate, but it was at one time! I was batch 2 for record and loving mine!

I like the option of different stems. I'm wasn't aware of alternatives by Dan to his standard glass ones but I'm enjoying the metal one by KeroZen. If anyone is aware of other options, please share them here.
Both @Ed's TnT and @Alan have made stems for the Nomad, and I plan to make at least a couple for myself, and if anyone expresses an interest once they've seen them :\, then I might sell a few (trying to raise some cash towards a second Nomad! or maybe just pay some bills :uhoh:).
