1 new dish temp tested with the ktype probe in addition to the one posted above. Temps are uncapped:

420f controller temp, the dish cycles between 350f and 410f, temp seen the most was 390f.

470f controller temp, the dish cycles between 410f and 440f, temp seen the most was 430f.

EDIT: 470f, slow draw gets one amount of vapour. Fast draw at that temp with 6 sapphire terp balls gets a huge amount of vapour :whoa:

EDIT 2: Checking the Obsidian dish, to see if the temps and results are anywhere near the same.

This is capped, right? So, drawing harder drops the internal pressure more and reduces boiling point....more....so more vapor?????

So it will be basically an enclosed enail, plugged in a wallplug and coming with a sort of integrated bubbler àla Peak... interesting to pass around

I don't think the second option, the connection using a silicone whip to your own bubbler is something we want to do while dabbing with sapphire.

Yes, I forget this on a regular basis! :)

The habit of slow draw at low temps from using the FP has ingrained very deep :)

EDIT: Forgot to add my Obsidian dish temp findings... Its about 50 degrees cooler than the sapphire dish, so to get the same performance obsidian as I did the sapphire, I had to up the temp on the controller around 50 degrees.

Sapphire wins again.

Is one more or less fragile or brittle then the other? Will either survive a drop from a desk top onto a hardwood floor better then the other? I’m happy with my polished obsidian dish for now and wish I had built my Vrod from parts and got the obsidian(edit: Dnail Sic dish instead of the sic dish that’s included with the Vrod assembled Kit. Think they should offer one or the other like they do when ordering the Dcup.

Sapphire is more fragile, from what I've read. As for your other question, I can only guess at no, and I'm not about to try and find out :D

I dont think an obsidian dish has been made for the FP/VRod. Not seeing one on their site, and I dont recall it being announced.

 about not trying to find out, lol.

You are correct, it’s the Dnail sic dish that in customers pics looks to be polished like obsidian, my bad.

I gave half my sapphire terp pearls to a friend, so I've just ordered ten more and I'll be seeing what happens when I fill the fucking dish :D

My new goal is to get 400f to be a usable temperature :)

I am loving 420f and 6 sapphire balls, so tasty and smooth.

EDIT: 410f, fast draw, 6 sapphire pearls, two hole cap. Shitty old phone cam and no decent lighting. Im also doubled over and cant get a full inhale but still... "Its like, wow"

The tsunami looks like there is room to haves FP stand built into it, or an optional no hole dish cover FP stand, and an auxiliary coil connector with a switch to choose which coil you want to use. Hmm
